The repair work done to stop the leak was A work. They did a thorough job and didn't cut any corners. I was told before the job was done that they would be able to reuse the tiles on my roof. When they finished, they had installed a substitute tile that didn't match in color or design. They left many old broken tiles on the roof. After several calls, they finally showed up to remove the broken tiles. After complaining about the tiles they had used, and many weeks later, they brought some alternate tiles that were a better match in shape but not in color. I asked them to take a broken original tile and get a pain match so that they could paint the substitute tiles a closer color to my original tiles. Several weeks later, they showed up with an old can of paint and said that they did not take a tile to match the color. The paint they brought was a small improvement over the original color of the substitute tiles. At that point, I paid them and wrote a letter to the owner about my dissatisfaction and asked her to respond to my comments. I never heard from her. They are expensive but I believe they do good work. Their attention to detail, especially esthetics, is not good. Another area of dissatisfaction is their response time to return visits. The original date of service was 8/02/16. Their last day on my property was 10/18/16.

Very well. We have a large roof surface and they completed the job in a reasonable amount of time.

Very pleased. Although there was a bit of delay in arriving (they suggested 2 week start and it was over 3 weeks), I was otherwise impressed with the work, the price (which was not the highest or lowest), and overall professionalism. They came highly recommended by other neighbors in the community and lived up to the reputation.

When calling to request a quote for metal and tile roofs the person answering the phone immediately wrote me off. She said "No we don't do metal roofs" I asked if she could give me a quote for tile roofs and her response was "No we don't do commercial roofs" She did not ask if it was a commercial property, which it is not. Needless to say her customer service skills need improvement if she wants to bring any business in. After telling her it is a residential property I hung up the phone.

Gary cannot replace my roof this year because he is too busy.

The entire process was done professionally and as promised. The estimate was in line with the other potential providers and work started when promised. The manager and his crew were great, and when a neighbor stopped by to see how it was going, she got a flat tire. The next day, Gary's sent the job's manager to their home, and after seeing the nail that caused the flat, he pulled out a checkbook and reimbursed our friends for the cost of the new tire.

lcovered in the issue-- work was done promptly- I hate roof leaks because of the damage they cause. They were forthcoming with all info etc. Very professional.

This is a well run, customer friendly company. It was so nice to see a company live up to my very high expectations. If you need a new roof, you owe it to yourself to at least hear what Gary's Roofing has to say about the proper way to install a roof in the Sarasota area. They deserve high grades in every area and I am so happy that I we selected them for the replacement of our tile roof. Their price was fair for the scope of the project. Wendy and Carolyn were very helpful on all aspects of the project and Rick and Chase and Valentin all were great to deal with and the crews were a pleasure to have around and left the premises clean and neat. We called and left a message. Someone did return our call the next day and left a message. We returned the call, and it took them another 24 hours to return the call. When we finally talked to them, the assistant said, "Ok, we'll let you know." Ummmm.... let us know what? If you don't know our address, and haven't scheduled to come and look at our roof, how are you going to make a recommendation on what should be done? (repair vs. maintenance vs. replacement) We never heard from them again.

Excellent ! Comprehensive inspection of old roof, fair estimate and punctual scheduling. Neat work, cleaned up every evening before leaving, flawless execution of the new roof and additional work on the chimney that had been haphazardly 'repaired ' by a different contractor before the roof work started. Since most tile roofs in our neighborhood will have to be replaced, I would whole heartedly recomment Gary's Roofing to all that need it.

I am probably one of the worst customers anyone in the construction field could ask for. I am a licensed building inspector. I solicited three bids to have our home re-roofed. When Tim, the owner of Garys Roofing came to give an estimate, I was impressed with the way he handled himself. You could tell that he had hands on experience in the field. Any question that I asked him, he answered in such a way that I knew he had been there and done it. I also liked that Gary's has company employees that have been with them for years. All of the work was completed as stated in our contract. During the stripping stage, wood rot was discovered along the entire length of our front fascia. This was caused by improper installation by our original home contractor. Gary's made all the repairs in one day. I dreaded receiving the "extras" bill because most contractors make up for competive bids by charging a lot for extras. This was not the case. The extras were billed per man hour/material and was very reasonable for the work performed. I highly reccommend Gary's Roofing. Although their bid was a little higher than the others, my gut feeling told me to use them. I am glad I did--the few dollars more was money well spent. .

Bought a used house.......had roofing problems that came up at inspection. Rick is the estimator....very knowledgable. Price was very fair. All the work was top notch.

The original work was dona a few years back. A new leak developed recently (within the material warranty period) and they immediately responded and repaired to my satisfaction at no cost. They were very pleasant to deal with and impressed me for a second time. I would hire them again. They do other work besides roofing.

The absolute best experience because they attend to every detail. Carolyn explains choices and materials, took us on an actual car tour of roofs in the Sarasota area similar to our home to help choose color and style. The crew was hard working and kept to themselves. The supervisor made sure everything was to our satisfaction during the two week plus project. The yard area were cleaned at the end of each work session. We did comparisons, this company ranked the highest all the way around. Our contact with this roofer was for only an estimate, no work was done. They arrived on time and gave their estimate. We will not use them for the job.

We called many roofers in the area and nearby to give us quotes. Gary’s Roofing & Building was not the first to come by so we had a pretty good understanding about the current roof and suggested replacements when Tim Ackerland, the owner of Gary’s Roofing came out. Most of the companies reviewed the roof and took measurements stating that they would come back with the quote or send it to us. Tim was able to create a quote on site and sit with us to discuss not only our options as well as what his company would do to protect the property around the house and the screened pool enclosure. Tim’s quote was not the rock bottom price, but it was very close. Once the paperwork was signed and permits approved the work began. Their workers worked very well as a team, they were quick and thorough. They had to remove two roofs as the second roof was put on over the first roof. Once both of the roofs were removed we could see that the damage was worse than we had thought and required lots of plywood replacement and repair time. We were worried throughout the process that every problem was going run the price up considerably. Our 5,000 square foot roof was replaced completely in 7 business days. The new shingles looked as good as promised. They had even corrected the way the water runs around the chimney. We are very happy with the work that was done and very surprised at how fair Tim priced the costs of repairs. They were prompt and clean. They were courteous. I liked the work. It was excellent. They did a fantastic job. I am very, very pleased with them. I would absolutely use them again. I have already passed on to some of my neighbors the quality of the work they did for me.

They were pretty professional. I contacted them through their website and they contacted me pretty quick to schedule an appointment. The guy let me come up on his ladder to show me what he saw. It took a few days to get back with the estimate. I decided not to get the work done before I replaced the overall roof. I thought they were fine. They showed up on time for the estimate.

The job was excellent. The price was very reasonable. We had used them for another property and a neighbor recommended them. They were prompt and thorough. They were competitively priced.

I asked for an estimate, but went with another company. I' wasn't nearby, so only talked on phone. They seemed OK, but I chose another company with a better price.

Bad Part : They took 4-5 tries to schedule initial call for estimate (one miss was my fault). Never informed me of when the work was scheduled to be done, they just arrived a few days later & did it. (Note that it was not something that required my being home.) Good part : They were quick, clean and polite, they did not cause any more fluff than necessary. Their bill just arrived a week later, and included pictures of the work done - Very professional.
