I was out of town and a contractor who was working on the bathroom let this plumbing company in. They charged me for 2 plumbers working for 5 hours. They have not been able to justify how these 3 simple jobs could have required 2 plumbers for 5 hours. Unfortunately, I paid the bill. The owner, Jason, came to look at the work and could not justify the invoice, however, he did not give me a credit.
Description of Work: I needed a new shower valve, a garbage disposal replaced and a toilet leak fixed.

The technicians were friendly and efficient. The job was completed in less than a half hour. I am very pleased with the Gallo service.

Early Saturday morning I discovered water flowing like an open faucet from my back-flow valve, near the street in front of my home. Our county requires that every homeowner have his back-flow valve checked and cleaned on a yearly basis. Our homeowner?s association has contracted with Gallo Plumbing to do this work and thus a tag with their name and phone number was affixed to my valve. So I called them. I got an answering machine and left a message. I tried calling again an hour later. A few minutes after the second call, BJ called saying that he would be out in two hours. Meanwhile I checked out Gallo?s website where they advertised free estimates and reasonable rates. There was no mention of emergency service rates on weekends. Their service man arrived on time. He told me that his name was BJ. He did not ring my doorbell. He did not give me a ?free estimate? or a chance to ask for one, but went right to work on my back-flow valve. I came out to watch. He spent only about 10 minutes doing the simple work I described above. He then started to give me a spiel about emergency service rates on Saturday and attempted to list charges that sounded like the cost would be between $200 and $300. I complained that his company had the contract to clean and service my back-flow valve and that I should not have had this problem in the first place. We finally agreed on a cost of $102 for his service. My back-flow valve seems to be working properly but I don?t think I will be calling Gallo Plumbing for service in the future.
Description of Work: Gallo’s plumber, BJ wiped out some residue inside the housing and replaced a couple of washers, a rubber membrane, and spring in my back-flow valve.

It saddens me to see this review. We are a small company and yes have a website that needs attention. (We are currently working on it). We are not much into advertising but have been relied on word of mouth since I started. It is true that we test and certify the results with the county for the (Member name removed) subdivision through their property manager. The information that (Member name removed) received is a little incorrect... The county, subdivisions, property management do not require Backflow Services to "clean" the devices during the testing as was stated. Other than exterior cleaning of test ports a device cannot be cleaned without dissembling it. That is done when a repair is required. They hire the company to do the annual testing and record the results. If the unit has not had a "passed" result then, depending on the Association Docs, it is either the Association OR home owners responsibility to fix the issue. It is not uncommon for a device to fail even after it has "passed". Dirt, debris, and water quality all pay apart. His unit was tested in April 2013 and his leak occurred in October 2013. Yes, we do have an Emergency Service rates. In this case, again (Member name removed), was incorrect...he was never told $200-$300. He was given an invoice for $174 for the emergency service call and the repair parts. I would also like to say that my technician at the time did NOT handle (Member name removed) situation appropriately. (Member name removed) had every right to be upset. My technician at the the time should have absolutely discussed with (Member name removed) the charge for an emergency service call prior to the him coming to (Member name removed) home. Please always remember there are the facts from both sides and then there is the truth. I spoke with (Member name removed) after the occurrence and I agreed with his concerns. My tech was there for 30 min (I believe I still have the GPS tracking record to prove it). Being a small company - we still have a heart and are not out to hurt anyone. We do the best job we can and try to be a reliable as humanly possible. We will never be perfect and we never please everyone - though we will continuously try :) In turn - I discounted (Member name removed) bill for his accurate concerns. I also had to educate (Member name removed) on how his own association works...and I do not even live there. There are always things that we can approve upon with a little attention and training.
