George was very responsive to our needs. He and his team were both punctual and professional. He had a custom cabinet built for our bathroom as well as some great custom floating shelves. It took a couple visits to get the drawers in the cabinet working perfectly but he came out, looked at the issue and had someone come back and fix it. No hassle. The same with the sink plumbing. One really nice surprise was that he had his team fix the pocket door for the bathroom at not cost. It had been a source of irritation for several years.

We are extremely pleased with the results. George interpreted my design exactly and recommended sources for me to choose the counter, backsplash, sink, glass, hardware so the kitchen would turn out beautifully. He stayed on schedule and on budget. His carpenter and the other experts he brought in to augment the completion were great!

It went well. They were on time, they worked efficiently, cleaned up after themselves, and were polite. The only downside was their advertising and the actual price: they advertised half off or three windows for the price of two. They don't really give that at all. I believe the windows are good quality.
Description of Work: Two windows needed to be updated to decrease sound from neighbor's AC and to provide better energy conservation.

In both projects George obtained the required permits and work was done within budget and schedule. Steven is an exacting worker. Between the two they must have about 100 years of doing remodeling of all kinds. I've been entirely satisfied with their performance.
Description of Work: Recently they remodeled a bath for me. They removed a tub and installed a custom walk-in shower for my elderly mother. It came beautiful and within the planned budget. It had built-in corner dishes, a little alcove, and a shower that had separate controls for temperature and pressure. There were grab bars placed strategically for a sitting user and frameless glass sliders and custom tile made everything classy-looking. Some years ago George completely remodeled my suburban Virginia kitchen.

Duct work installation required removal of some drywall in garage wall and ceiling and hookup of new duct to an existing bathroom fan duct which led outside. A lot of precision was required to locate the areas where drywall removal was needed. Steve did an excellent job on this tedious project. The stairs project first required removal of the carpet/padding. Steve also helped with measuring, cutting, and installing the flooring, bullnose, and risers. He finished with an excellent caulking job. The flooring project lasted one week. Steve is a professional craftsman who is very pleasant to work with. We highly recommend him!
Description of Work: Steve was hired to assist my husband with two jobs: 1) installation of duct work from the kitchen microwave to an outdoor vent ($480) and 2) removal of carpet and installation of hardwood flooring on stairs ($1288).

George and his crew did a great job in remodeling our master bathroom in Feb, 2016. George also remodeled our kitchen in 2010. We loved the renovated kitchen so much so that we decided why not go with the someone whose work and quality we already know! Before hiring George for this job, we did our due diligence and checked out other contractors and received their estimates. George and his crew, in particular Stephen, provided good workmanship and strong work ethic which were very important to us. the We find his price to be within range and we only slightly went over budget. He provided quality materials and workmanship. The vendors and subcontractors were all excellent. The result of the finished job is exactly what we had envisioned, maybe even better! We highly recommend George and his team and we can truly say even though it took five weeks, it was still overall a pleasant experience. We will have George come back in the future for other jobs, no doubt.

Description of Work: It was a complete gut job. Everything was removed back to the drywall. Plumbing was moved to relocate shower and toilet. Installed a new walk in shower and vanity with dual sinks. Popcorn ceiling was removed. Bathroom was painted, new hardware installed.

[Member Name Removed], Thank you for your review. We hope your new bathroom serves you well for many years. George
Once my home went through the mold remediation process, it became apparent that the holes in the floor were the causative factor of the mold. I contacted Mr Kenney and asked him to come see this problem. He said he wanted to "make it right" and needed to see it to make a plan. That was more than 2 months ago, and he has not done anything to help, he only denies responsibility. He never brought his insurance investigator to see it, despite my multiple requests to do so. So, I am living with a bathroom that has no sink, no cabinets, no shelves, no horizontal surfaces at all. I have to do my daily toiletries in the kitchen sink. The entire kitchen table and about 75 % of the floor space is covered with boxes of food, kitchen wares, etc that were in the pantry. The pantry wall is just a piece of construction plastic held up with tape.....same as the holes in the bathroom floor. Plastic does not keep out the cold!! I have to live like this because my home is now "evidence" in this dispute.
Description of Work: Remodel of bathroom and bedroom. Estimated 2-3 weeks, took 9 weeks! Neither of the two light fixtures they installed works properly, they did not seal the shower tiles and it looks twenty years old with cracks and chips. The contract said sheet rock for walls, but they used cheap paneling. The worst was that they left open holes in the floor and installed cabinets and a vanity over them. Within months, we had a huge mold problem due to exposure to the elements. The mold was so bad, it resulted in the loss of 12 linear feet of floor-to-ceiling cabinets, including the contents, as well as three walls, a door frame, kitchen drawers and countertop, bathroom vanity, AND my HVAC unit that was full of mold. So far, I have spent almost $11,000.00 to get my home cleansed of the mold and safe to live in. That does NOT include any rebuilding costs, or the costs due to loss of property, loss of use, or attorney fees and court costs.

Why did the problem happen? We feel that the owner did not following HUD guidelines and check list for manufactured homes. Installing a ground cover is one of the most overlooked and underestimated problems, and is one of the largest source of moisture load on a home. The home did not have one. Do not cover or close off floor registers this causes an imbalance to the HVAC system increasing the potential for moisture condensation and Florida is in a very high risk. The mold report mentioned that this had occurred in the kitchen pantry. Why is the customer not happy? The home owner’s insurance claim was denied. We have no copy of it, but some of the following facts may be relevant. The 1982 Aristocrat travel trailer which we did work in was part of the original foot print of the home. The home has been added onto and the original travel trailer has been modified to accept an addition that doubled the size of the original home. We did not work in this area and do not know when it was completed. We saw AC duct work lying on the ground under the home while working in the bathroom. No AC supply duct was going to the bathroom at the time, and the bathroom had no door to the bedroom allowing better air circulation where there is an AC floor supply register.. The home did not have a vapor barrier on the ground which is the biggest moisture problem for all manufactured homes See the HUD reports on line. The kitchen sink photos taken by the mold inspection company show open pipes in the back of kitchen cabinets, and water lines and drain line not sealed from the base cabinets and floor. This is an area where condensation forms and it was contributor to the mold problem “Heavy Mold growth and water damage were noted to be present at the interior of the kitchen sink cabinet and adjoining drawer cabinets” The customer supplied the tile which was bought at a close out sale and we installed it correctly. The tile was of pour quality and no sealer was provided at installation and none requested to be installed. We rebuilt the floor in the bathroom covered it with new ¾ inch plywood and covered it again with ½ inch dura rock and thin set the new floor tiles into place and all the holes where covered in this manner. All wet areas in the shower where also covered with Red Guard and water proof membrane for extra protection. The Bathroom floor area we rebuilt had 2 extra layers of sub floor material giving it a better vapor barrier than the original home. The mold report from which I received a copy from owner is dated 8/8/2015 the mold inspection report is dated 08/20/2015. This is over a year from our completion date and we received no complaints during the one year warranty agreement. Also the Breathe Easy Mold Removal Inc. report dated 08/20/2015 page 2 number item 1. “Heavy mold growth and water damage were noted to be present at the interior of the kitchen sink base cabinet and adjoining drawer cabinets”. Already mentioned is where the plumbing leaks occurred between the sink base dishwasher and other base cabinets. The Kitchen area we did not work in. Breathe Easy Mold Removal Inc. also mentioned a floor supply duct partial covered not allowing air to circulated and creating condensation in the kitchen pantry part of the home. The home was breeding mold in many areas and the fact that it eventually made itself to the cabinets in the bathroom is most likely the cause of many factors not related to our work. In the Summary of the Breath Easy Mold Removal Inc. Mold inspection report dated 08/2082015 they say: “The findings together provide ample evidence of abnormal/unusual mold contamination and moisture conditions throughout the Kitchen, Bathroom and Pantry. The pantry is the area that the ac supply vent had been partially covered the report mentions excessive moisture, rusting, and mold growth were observed and the Trim was popping. The report mentions all of the rooms in the original 1982 Aristocrat travel trailers except the bedroom. The work we did in the bathroom was not the cause of the mold growth but just another area that is wet during use that mold has an easy time to form if not cleaned properly. The mold infestation is not from the work we performed in the bathroom but the overall condition of an aging travel trailer home with many rooms with mold growth caused by slow response to the water damage under the kitchen sink, leaks in the AC system And blockage of AC supply registers. The work we completed in May of 2014 had nothing to do with the owners mold problem in August 8 2015. We regret this problem occurred but we did not contribute to any of the problem. We are sorry for the customers inconvenience or disappointment. We feel the customer has let emotions get in the way of objectively seeing who is responsible for the situation. The responsibility falls on many of the mentioned circumstances. We feel wrongly accused of the problem and our work is not and was not the cause. However if our customers are unhappy, we feel it is our obligation to do our best to help correct the problem. In order to resolve this complaint: Without prejudice we offer to supply and install new drywall on the wall in the bathroom next to the kitchen and the linen cabinets, supply and install new linen cabinets like the original ones removed by the Mold Removal Company and reinstall the original doors with customer supplied door hardware. If the original doors are not available we will provide new doors at our cost of $395.70 the cost of must be paid in advance of the order being placed into production. We will install supply and install a like vanity cabinet and install customer supplied top and faucet in the bathroom. We will seal any holes at this location that penetrate the floor ow wall behind the vanity and linen location. George Kenney President

This review will sound similar to one I just read. Ten days before Christmas I called Mr. Kenney with a problem. My kitchen remodel was half finished and I had just told the work crew not to come back. The house was in a total shambles. Dust everywhere, no sink, no stove, no dishwasher. Boxes upon boxes of kitchenware etc filled the lanai. What furniture was not on the lanai was covered in plastic and dust. Company was arriving for Christmas in nine days. George said he would see what he could do, and later that day called me back. He said I got lucky and he had a cancellation and that Mr. John Malloney would be arriving after he completed another job.? John arrived, and after a tour of the disaster he understood everything that was needed. (Both these men are bright, John saw things I hadn't thought about.) John went to work. Hour by hour I watched as my kitchen began to take shape. Occasionally, John would ask my opinion or ask where I wanted something. His input was invaluable, these guys are pros. We didn't quite get it all finished, but we almost did. And John made sure one or two temporary baseboard fixes would never be noticed during the holidays. Kraftmaid must shut down during Christmas so some trim pieces did not arrive in time. Bottom line - George and John saved Christmas. I had a breathtaking kitchen by the time our company arrived and they marveled at the quality of the work. We think the world of both these men and cannot thank them enough! Not sure what else to say, every evening my wife arrives home and she smiles!

Description of Work: Evaluated cabinet doors that were binding and not closing. Installed replacement hinges and adjusted doors to close smoothly.
These guys are great. Their subs are very good. George listens and understands. The closets and kitchen cabinets were just what we wanted and he did not try and up sell us. Both Stephen and George are easy to work with and very dependable. Very flexible as well with regard to my endless tweaking of the project (meaning I kept adding things) and it all was completed within two weeks of when I expected, including the additional work I requested. We picked out the tile, flooring etc, and George arranged to pick it up. It was, all in all, a very organized, professional job.

It was okay. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. We'll probably use a rough idea of it. There was really nothing exceptional. The only negative I guess was that he had goofed up the appointment in his appointment book and actually didn't make the first appointment. We had to reschedule for the following week. But, it's not that big of a deal I guess.

When George provided the detailed building plans for our bathroom remodel, It was so complete that we requested him to also do designs for a kitchen remodel. He was able to redesign our kitchen to provide more sorely needed cabinet space, without removing any walls. We contracted with George to provide all the new custom cabinets for both the kitchen and bath, and installation was done by our own contractor. George was very easy to work with and was always responsive to our changes in designs, providing revised plans a couple times. The quality of all the delivered components of these remodels was what we certainly had hoped for but did not fully expect! Thank you George for our beautiful new master bath and kitchen. You have helped bring our home into the 21st century!
Description of Work: We used Angies list for our master bathroom remodel by taking advantage of one of the deals they had. For $55 we could have a designer come to our home and give us a full bathroom remodel design complete with professional design plans with materials, colors etc The designer was wonderful to work with, his name is George Kenney who has his own design firm "Fantastic Kitchens by George". Actually we never even met Stephen Ehersman, we worked exclusively with George, as designer, and our own installer. We spoke with him on the phone to explain what we think we wanted and our limited budget and made an appointment with him. George showed up on time and was very helpful to put our limited vision into play. He was very professional and yet certainly approachable and conscious of our budgetary restrictions.
