D & W Heating & Air Conditioning

I purchased the deal and set up three dates that were available. The company said that they could not service on any of those dates and rescheduled for today. I waited for the company and they called to tell me they could not come today and needed to reschedule for next week. At this time, I do not find them reliable and would like a refund.

Company info states that Hillsborough County is part of their service area. After I purchased the deal, they communicated to me that they do not service Apollo Beach.

.I don't recall ever dealing with a company as outstanding in it's responsiveness, workmanship, communication and desire to have customer satisfaction then D and W. Two previous air conditioners had failed in <6years each. The two previous companies I had said we were stuck with the same brand that failed so quickly because of the limited space for the original air handler. D and W offered to enlarge the space to allow us to upgrade to a better air conditioner. The initial service call was followed up with two phone calls to be sure we were comfortable while waiting for the installation and they found a way to get temporary cooling. The owner and his son (this is a family business) came to be sure they were getting everything they would need for the expansion of the air handler space so there would be no delays.. I was called several times about the location of the equipment that had to be ordered and the time work would start. The two installers were highly professional and obviously skilled. It took over 8 hours of hard labor and they left our garage cleaner then I ever had. I received a followup call to confirm our satisfaction. The cost was close to the replacement 6 years ago with a lower quality unit and no additional work required to install the air handler. The owner told me how many years his people have been working for him because he pays them and treats them well. This company could be an example taught in business schools about how to have a successful business. I obviously highly recommend D and W.

The owner of the company showed up the day after I called to give the estimate, which turned out to be the lowest price for a better model system than I was quoted by other companies. The installers showed up promptly, performed the installation professionally and left the job site clean. Would highly recommend this company.

D&W called me to reschedule an appointment (second time in 10 days) to inspect my duct work which is failing to deliver adequate airflow to my house. Their reason for cancellation: too many customers are without air. OK... call me once to reschedule but NOT TWICE. I admire them for wanting to serve customers who are in dire need of A/C but that also speaks to their overall lack of service personnel. After I was asked to reschedule yet another week out, I politely told them to forget it and I was going to call someone else. After hanging up I called a company who got very good reviews on Facebook. They are coming out later this morning.

First started with a service call to D&W , no air . Next day Mike from service was able to get it working but warned I was living on borrowed time with an 18 year old air handler and 12 year old compressor . Sure enough , out it went in about 6 hours . Another call and Mike was back the next day . After about 2 hours of trying to get it to work , I said to give it " the last rights " . Mike walked me through what i should replace the old unit with , never trying to sell me more then I would need . When I decided on the unit and ordered it I was told installation would be about 5 days . I was prepared to tough it out in the heat and humidity but Mike arrived that evening with a portable unit . Installation day arrived and Will and another Mike had my new system in in a matter of hours . A company is only as good as its employees and that is why D&W is so highly rated . In a business with less then honest people , rest assure , you can put your trust in them . THANKS CHARLIE M

We were away for several weeks and when we arrived home our house temp. was 85 degrees. Next morning checked Angie's list for reviews and D & W Heating and Air had very good reviews. Called them and a representative(Randy) promptly came to evaluate the system, identified that the AC coil was shot. System was older and way out of warranty. It was suggested to replace all with new. He spent alot of time with us explaining different equipment options, warranties, rebates and financing. We made our decision and his crew arrived on time as promised the following morning. They spent most of the day removing old and installing all new. That same afternoon we had air again. All of the staff were very professional,cleaned, removed old equipment and leaving areas the way they found it. Owner stopped by the next morning to insure all work was done properly. Very satisfied and enjoy being cool again.

Performed routine check up and service of a/c

Our Ruud A/C was 21 years old and our tenant had been having issues for some time. We looked for reputable A/C companies in the area and found D & W. Ken, our rep came out and took a look at our unit, our attic and garage areas. He determined we would be best off with a new Ruud with a much higher efficiency. (SEER). We had the guys out to install just a few weeks later, they were there literally all day, from 8am to 7pm, non-stop, professionally done installation. We are very pleased with the unit and recommend D & W A/C highly, they are honest, timely, knowledgable, and priced fairly. Thanks again for a terrific job, we couldn't be happier.

I purchased a deal for an inspection and tune up online through Angie's List. Got a response from D&W the very next morning. Technician (Brad) came out as scheduled. He was VERY thorough and very knowledgeable. He answered all my questions, worked very efficiently, and explained all my options. Very pleased with this company. I have used them twice and will continue to use their services as well as recommend them to anyone who needs ac work done.

AC stopped cooling at 10 pm. I immediately called D&W after seeing good ratings on Angie's List and Yelp. Technician (Ted) called back few minutes later. He came out at 9:30 the following morning. Thought was just capacitor at first but turned out that I needed new motor also. I was a little stunned when he gave me price of $595 for motor including capacitor. And labor was $110 and service call $69 (I had $30 off coupon). I don't know much about ac part prices nor did I delay the repair in order to shop around to see what other companies charge being the hottest days of summer in Florida. He completed the repair in about an hour and also checked freon level. Very pleased with prompt and efficient service. Still recovering from $774 total repair cost.

Service was excellent. He was on time and did an excellent job . The employees were polite and respectful and did not interfere with daily routine. Dave did what he said he would do and exceeded my expecations by a MILE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would recomend this Company very highly. They were not pushy and explained everything in detail.

Im a new Angies list member and chose D&W for a quote to replace all 3 of our air conditioners. They were wonderful and very knowledgeable. Really worked with me to understand our unique issues and on price. He spent a long time at my home and explained everything very precisely. Didnt actually use them as my husband wanted to stay with our old company but really wanted to. I would recommend them to any of my friends. I offered to pay him for all his time and effort for the extensive quote but he refused. Great Guy!

The technician was on time and did not try to sell me anything else. He suggested not replacing anything as the unit is old but working fine. If and when something breaks he felt it would be better to buy a new unit which I will do from then.

They arrived on time and were knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I have a service contract with them for this coming year based on my confidence of their servicing my equipment in a timely manner..

All aspects of the service were totally professional. Exactly what you expect but are surprised when you receive it.

service man [ mike ] arrived as scheduled . before starting check up , inquired about unit operation . I explained unit not functioning well so mike did troubleshooting and determined my problem was a malfunctioning part that reduced the efficiency of my unit . repair was promptly made and problem quickly resolved . I was prepared to face a complete replacement for big dollars but they [ mike ] D&W lived up to their reputation as being honest .

Mike was a nice guy. He gave details on why the part needed to be replaced. I just wonder if a checkup is ever all that needs to be done. In fairness I want to add our home was built in 2005 and the air conditioner is builders grade. Our $55 checkup ended upon costing $245.

I have used this company since 2003. In Dec. D &W came for my annual H & A inspection and tune up. because my system was old and some repairs had been made, I inquired about a new system. Bottom line is that D & W knew about the deals, rebates, etc., and respected that fact that my budget was limited and my need for information about the options unlimited. Based on their help, I purchased a new system and the entire process was flawless. I can't say enough about their commitment to customer service and professionalism. Everything they did from contact, follow up, clean up, filing for permits and rebate was as promised. Another key factor in decisions I make is how a company treats its employees. I have noticed over the years that the company's employees stay., and are enthusiastic about their work. I have used other company's in different locations, and D & W has always topped the list in my experience.

I am very impressed with this company! Randy and team hit a home run for me. Randy was out at my house right after I called him to help my situation. I had no air and did not expect to make a phone call and have him out the same day, let alone within an hour of my call. We were able to schedule a time and his team replaced my outside unit and my air handler. If there was a higher grade then an "A" I would have given it to this company. If you are looking for honesty and integrity, then call Randy!!!! I really appreciate the professionalism and attention to detail!!!!!

Mike was our service guy. He was very friendly and explained everything to us. We were a little low on freon and decided not to get it at this time. Mike explained that the air would run colder if we added the freon but it was not critical in the operation of the system. My budget is so tight at this time that we elected to wait on the freon. Our coils really needed cleaning, so glad to have that done. He also secured a connector on our compressor so no freon would leak out. Very happy with the service.

The Service Technicians were great - very professional, showed up on time and knew their stuff. After their second visit we noticed there was something wrong with the zones - air was blowing in a zone where the thermostat was off. We called D&W and Randy called me back left a message telling me directly that they were too busy and I should call another company - he left the name of the company. I called Randy back to make sure I was calling as a customer who noticed a problem after aD&W service visit - he was aware of that but repeated his request for me to call someone else. I had the other company come out and they found a wire to one of the zone controllers had been dislodged so the damper was not closing ... they fixed it quickly. As expected it looked like an inadvertent result of the D&W visit. The guy was here for 30 minutes or so - cost me $213. D&W should have come out and fixed that problem for me .... I would have waited a few days I never said it was urgent. I found Randy's request a bit strange and rude ..... Just want other AL users to be aware D&W's good ratings may have helped them get a bit busier than they can handle and customer service may be suffering.

Everything went according to the plan. The installers showed up on time and finished all work by 4pm. There were minor details that needed correction and they were dealt with right away and without any issue. I liked the estimate process since it was the most thorough of all other estimators. The price seemed to be in line for what I could get for similar quality a/c. Overall I was very happy with the company and I would hire them again.
