Description of Work: Annual service of air conditioner and replaced air filter (a 5" thick Trane filter). I have used them for about 10 years including replacement of an air conditioner.

Description of Work: Replaced my main A/C unit that was in the attic. Moved it in the garage to be more efficient. Saving 20-25% on electric since replacement. They did exceptional work and clean-up. They have maintained my A/C units for 9 years. I am extremely happy with their professionalism, honesty, and promptness.

Description of Work: We replaced an aging heat pump with a more efficient, more deluxe, and hopefully, more reliable system. We also upgraded both supply and return ducts to outlying rooms. We identified that air quality, primarily dust and humidity control were high priorities to us. We limited our search to Carrier (Bryant) and Trane authorized dealers, equipment we perceive to be the highest quality. Length of warranty was a factor as was follow-on maintenance service. We expert to be serviced by experienced service technicians who have been in the HVAC maintenance field and preferably with the same company for several years. Our previous service company used mostly younger seemingly less experienced maintenance technicians who seemed to be trained at least as much in how to sell us ancillary equipment we deemed less than necessary. Of course, we expected all this to be provided at a fair price. We invited 4 local contractors to offers bids. All have at least "B" average overall scores on Angies List.

Description of Work: I built my house 18 years ago & Custom Air was chosen by my builder. I have been extremely happy with them through the years. Our house is over 4,000 sq.ft. We did have to replace both a/c units after approx. 10 years. And now, we had to replace our smaller one last month. Each time I have gotten an estimate from them, regarding price, unit & time for installation, I have gotten at least one or two other bids, just to make sure they continued to deal in an honest fashion. Each time, they were competitive. Because of my very positive & long history with them as well as their professionalism, I have chosen them over & over with no regrets whatsoever. In addition to my own home experience, I now am responsible for my elderly parents' home, also over 4,000 sq.ft. My parents' home needed a new heating system for both units. When their house was built in 1992, my engineer father from the north, decided he wanted a gas heating & a/c system. Finding a company who could service such a system here, & to make sure the company that we were using (Not Custom Air) was honest & honorable, was impossible. To make the story short, I decided to start anew with an electrical heating & a/c system. The company that had been servicing my parents' home, must of thought Stupid was written across my far head because they wanted $45,000 for 2 new electrical heating units & I would have to get & pay the electrician. Custom Air offered me 3 different levels: good, better & best. We chose best & paid $25K for the very top of the line Trane. This included EVERYTHING: the electrician, new duct work, changing out returns, etc. This house also has approx. a dozen separate thermostats throughout, so that automatically leads to a higher end unit. And the old company, when sensing I wasn't going to go with them, called me to offer me the top Trane model at no extra cost, but it was a system that would have had to have been dumbed down because of all the separate thermostats. Conclusion: extremely happy with Custom Air but I still believe in getting more than 1 estimate to keep people honest.

Description of Work: Semi-annual maintenance and air conditioner and furnace.

Description of Work: We had these people help us before with a major air conditioning problem last July, 2009. My husband needed help with the thermostat because it would not turn on (and it's cool in Florida right now - 40's). I told him to call Custom Air, Inc. who told him it sounded like it was a fuse and to try replacing the fuse before having them come out. This worked!

Description of Work: Air conditioning unit shut down after having it repaired about 3 days earlier. It's a newer unit, only 2 years old. It was recommended to call the manufacturer (York) to check on the warranty. Warranty says - parts only and no labor. Had to find an "authorized York dealer" to have the parts covered. I was told there was a leak in the nitro valve and there was no antifreeze left in the system. Michael came out and was most pleasant. He assessed the problem and made the repairs. They were more reasonable in their prices than other companies. They were also very patient in explaining what was wrong. Not fun to have the air conditioner that's 2 years old go out in 90 plus degree weather! They came out a couple of hours after I called and got the system going again. We needed 17 pounds which is all it holds! Office staff was very helpful also in getting the technician to our house as soon as possible and giving us approximate time he will show up.
