Called before arrival, punctual, pleasant and great job. Very thorough with information.

The chimney has been done. I did not get up on the roof.

We had to reschedule the appointment once because the individual couldn't make the first date. He asked me to call and remind him the morning of the second appointment so he would remember to come. He arrived and was very pleasant. He looked at our system, listened to me explain what we wanted, and did some tsk tsking. He said it would be expensive, but didn't give me a range of how much he considered "expensive" to be. I explained that we understood just what was involved, and that I knew most of the fireplace fascia would need to be replaced, but the fireplace is not usable as is so we needed to get it done. He gave me his card, took my email address, and said he would send me an email with an estimate within five days. I still haven't heard from him. I called and left a message a couple of weeks later... still no response. I sent an email a month or so later... still no response. We found it both incredibly rude and frustrating to not get any response at all after he'd been here to evaluate the job. If he didn't want to do the job, or didn't have the capability, he should have just said so and I could search for someone else.

Arrived on time, did a good job and showed me where I may have problems in the future.

Everything was good about it. I did found out that their actual service was a little bit less than their offer was for. I really should have saw that on their written invoice. They really should have done something to adjust it. It wasn't that much difference, for $14. The service itself was really good. I think the service guy was really polite and I didn't have any complaints about what they did or what they quoted as far as future work that might need to be done. It was efficient, cleaned up after themselves and they didn't make a mess that could happen with that kind of service. He was polite and friendly. The price was fair.

The technician was on time, thorough and recommended other services, not pushy.

I called there twice and spoke with someone who promised that when she had someone in the area that she would call. I have waited 3 months and no calls. I agree - the Chimney Cricket should get what they deserve!

The impressive thing about Chimney Cricket was that in calling their office (New Year's eve afternoon, i believe it was?) the accountant answered and was helpful, first, in giving me the needed information about the expected time of Friday's 'sweep' and then, since I'd (accidently) lined up a 3rd company, when i reluctantly had to call and cancel, cheerfully communicating that information back to the sweep from their company that was to come out. She was upset because she does payroll for chimney sweep employees as far away as Michigan and weather issues were threatening not to get the workers, there, paid the next day. As it was, the first company we'd hired ($119) came through earlier than the 1/6 date they'd given my husband [which started this whole stupid search for a Sweep that really COULD show up, like, BEFORE you'd needed them :-) :-(] and we were hugely pleased with their 'recoup' of our good graces. If all of Chimney Cricket operates with the conscientiousness of the initial scheduler and the woman in their office that handled business despite 'holiday hours' or feeling that it wasn't her place as accountant to answer their phones and relay information well and promptly ... and ESPECIALLY if i absolutely needed the job done 'pronto', the extra $20 would not have mattered one whit and I'm fairly certain i would have been pleased with their follow-through to get the job done right.

Appointment was promptly made. Service person arrived on time. Asked my why he was there. Discovered a nest. Banged on the stack to scare the squirrel away. Then announced there would be an extra charge for doing so. I could have done that myself. Grunted and groaned the entire time he was doing the sweeping. My fireplace is one of those enamel covered metal cones with a straight stack. No problem looking straight up the stack and seeing daylight. He also decided the stack needed to be taken apart to be cleaned and in putting it back together, chipped several pieces of enamel in obvious places. He also put screws into the stack which once again chipped the enamel. My $134.00 pre paid bill turned into a $209.00 one and I am not happy. I have had this fireplace for 45 years and it was in fine condition until this guy got hold of it.

We have lived in the house for a few years and have never used the fireplace so I wanted to have it cleaned and inspected. I called this company and Derek came out to clean the chimney and do a safety inspection of the chimney, dryer vent, etc. Derek *really* knows his profession. He's very good (and thorough) at what he does. He left an estimate for a couple of things that needed to be fixed (or done) regarding the chimney and dryer vent. I definitely need a new dryer hood and cleaning, however, I think the price that was quoted for the cleaning/replacement of the dryer vent was very high. My dryer vent/hose is only about 8ft long and is not hidden in the walls or ceiling (so it's very accessible). It vents directly out of the wall next to the dryer. I was quoted almost $90 just to replace the hood then another $90 to clean the vent/hose. I really believe $180 is way too much for a dryer vent cleaning and hood replacement. I did a quick online search for the cost of a hood and it ranged anywhere from $5 or $6 upwards to $35 or so. I would definitely recommend their chimney maintenance services to anyone and also highly recommend Derek. As for the dryer vent services I would make sure to shop around as it definitely seemed to be priced very high.

The service was performed very well, and the representatives from Chimney Cricket were professional and informative. They provided me with a list of concerns that I might want to address in the future. When they were done with their work, they left the work site spotless.

From the beginning the company did not know what the deal was for. They though it was for cleaning the vent. They also do not service my area.

Had a roofer look to seal a leak around chimney. After several attempts and a discussion of the possible culprit being water entering through the chimney cap, the roofer denied the possibility and decided they were not going to continue working to find the leak. Wanted to take advantage of an Angie's list special however requested that someone come out and give us an estimate since we had already put a significant amount of money into a recurring leak around the chimney. The company is based in Sarasota but schedules certain days to work in Tampa. My wife made arrangements to have someone come out. The individual scheduled never arrived and when my wife followed up, she was told the person had an emergency and could not make it. Even though we had to initiate the call to find out why they didn't show, we were understanding and rescheduled for the following week between 10 and 2. The company called to confirm the appointment however changed the arrival time to between 1 and 5. My wife made several appointments late the day the work was to be done based on the 10 to 2 arrival time. This company fails to realize they are not a monopoly. They failed to meet our expectation twice so we told them not to come out and have found another company to complete our project

Perfectly. Arrived on time, did his job, cleaned up after himself, made some recommendations but wasn't pushy. I hired the company to do three more jobs.

They were wonderful. I can't remember what they charged but I know it was moderate enough for me to have them.
