+ 1 moreEverything went accordigly to their estimates, no surprises. Always on time always courteous. I apologize for not writing this sooner, I should be more timely....
Description of Work: First off, we had them for 11 years and they are always on time and courteous. Last year our central air unit was going. They tried to bring it back life twice (10 years old) but it had too many leaks and was corroded so we had them replace the whole unit. They delivered it on time and installed it in less time they originally estimated. They also processed the warranty for us and gave the paper work for proof. Their price was competitive and discountd, Just came back a year later for a service check and all is good, saving approximately $75 a month. Last March our refrigerator stop making ice and they replaced the motherboard for free. Saved us $1500 for a new refrigerator.

+ 0 moreWe have used this service in the past, and continued to do so out of convenience this year. Unfortunately, I did not check Angie's List for ratings before deciding to do so. The quality of service has bottomed out of this company, as far as I'm concerned.
Description of Work: We have had two calls to this company in the last two weeks that we are extremely unsatisfied with. The first was for a stopped up sink. After the plumbing guy came and snaked out the line for about an hour (using the loudest equipment I have ever heard), he realized that it was more than 25 feet and did not have the cable to reach the problem. Well, the company claimed that our coverage does not go beyond 25 feet and that it would cost $275.00 to have the guy return (3 days later) to do the job right. Forget it -- I found another company who came out and did it for $140.00. 2nd job: Washing machine needed repair. They sent a guy out who claimed that he didn't have the space in our small laundry room to diagnose it properly and needed to take it to the shop. He promises to have an answer by the end of the day. Guess what?? no call. No call next morning either. We call and the dispatch says that the manager will call us by the end of the day. They call my mom (who is 91 by the way) and claim that the control board is out and that we don't have coverage for that either. It will cost us $75 for the coverage, plus half of the $450 for the repair!! My mom went ahead and paid... Now I'm furious at them. We have been loyal customers (unfortunately) for 8 years... and they couldn't just offer a retroactive cover???? DONE WITH THIS COMPANY. DO NOT USE THEM. By the way, we pay $588.00 per year for their very, very poor service. They treat us as though we are absolute dirt. They send a guy out days after we call, rarely call us to update us with what is going on, and of late, seem to figure out ways to gouge us into paying more $$$$.

+ 0 moreAfter multiple attempts to fix a faulty HVAC system the warranty company recommended a replacement of furnace and both compressors outside. The downstairs compressor worked great but upstairs required 4 more repairs to get working properly. In addition to lack of attention to work the company did not work with schedule and on numerous occasions I missed them due to incorrect times or repair people leaving before the window. If you have all day to sit around for them and willing to be subject to their schedule they're ok.
Description of Work: Repaired HVAC system.

+ -1 moreThe company was to come out and look at the pool equipment to see if it was something they could repair. Instead, they just repaired a filter but did not correct the original problem. They came out several times and each time something else went wrong or was not repaired. When it was brought to the attention of the manager all he kept saying was ok. On one occasion, due to the tech not tightening some bolts and not correctly fixing an issue, we were unable to run our pool filter during a freeze. No one would come out to fix it until the next business day which resulted in the salt generator freezing and cracking. The company would not own up nor take responsiblty for their mistake. We did request a refund of the cost of the repair and they only covered 160.00 of a repair/replacement of over 500.00. One tech made the comment that they have to come from Dallas. Well the company in Dallas sure did not have an issue with taking our money from Fort Worth. If they do not want to come to Fort Worth from Dallas then why accept the contract? Very disappointed in this company. Very poor communication skills and customer service. We will not renew with them and I am sharing my story with my neighbors, friends and family.

+ -1 moreThis experience was very frustrating. The first technician that came to do the work thought the problem was one thing, but it turned out to be something else. The second technician was very good and he is apparently the only one with the depth of knowledge that he has. I tried to request him for every service call but that was not the result. Other technicians would have to call him for advice. I ended up having to pay extra for 'uncovered' repairs, which was acceptable; the unacceptable part was having to set up multiple calls to accurately diagnose and fix the problem.
Description of Work: BFS has been my home warranty company for 3 years but I feel they have declined in their quality of customer service. They had to come out 4 different times in March/April to fix the ice maker/water dispenser/thermostat control in my refrigerator. The quality of their technicians varies from very good to bad, hence the "C" rating instead of "D". They have a few technicians only, so responsiveness is not always prompt, unless it is considered an "emergency". Sounds like they operate out of a home business - not the most professional at times. Over the years, I have become more and more disatisfied with the service and have decided to not use this company again.

+ -1 moreThey are fabulous. Everything in my house is covered. I have used them for ice maker, refrigerator, air conditioner, plumbing items, washer, dryer, microwave, dishwasher. They are quick and efficient. They usually will get things completed within one visit as long as they don't have to order a part. They are always spot on. I am impressed. Cost reflects approximate annual cost.

+ -1 moreWe had a yearly contract with them on our appliances and plumbing, including the electrical and air conditioning unit. It was $120 a year plus a $35 service call. The product seemed to be very good because we haven't had any problems with the seal since the service.
Description of Work: They replaced a rubber seal in our dishwasher door.
