Ben Nettles Concrete Design LLC

We were interested in putting in an eco-friendly and rugged kitchen counter. So we thought concrete would be appropriate. We went to Ben's shop and Ben gave us great service - we thought. I'll tell you what he didn't tell us. His counters need lots of care and feeding. They are definitely not rugged. He waited to tell us this the day our counter was installed. After we paid him his final payment, he then told us that he wasn't actually finished. He said after the counter cures, he'd need to come out for the final polishing - in a month or so, he said. Actually, his counters take many, many months to cure. Even after four months of curing, they absorb stains and oils and minerals - much more so than Corian or granite. So basically - don't set anything on them for who knows how long. I know this now because our counters have quite a few mineral marks from water and oil marks around the stove - and we have made every effort to be very, very careful with our counters - painfully careful. Over the last four months I have made about six appointments with Ben to get the final polishing. Each has been cancelled last minute or no-showed. He's always very apologetic and sweet - but he's never called to reschedule. I recently met a shop owner that has waited three years for Ben to come back out. So I've given up now. Ben is a politician. He aught to run for mayor and get out of the counter top business - do us all a favor.
