Artistic Pools of Sarasota

Construction process was smooth, fast and efficient. Owner was responsive during construction process. Quality of work was good - great job!

After signing the contract in the early spring everything was supposed to be done by Labor Day. By Labor Day the project was barely started. Delays continued. The owner wouldn't respond to our inquiries (the home where the work was being done was a vacation home; we were there sporadically). When we challenged the owner on his oversight of the project he claimed he was on top of things. A few weeks later he revealed that in fact he had subcontracted our job out to another individual. In other words he misled us ( that's a nice way of saying he was less than truthful). The appearance of the final job was nice (a picture of our pool is on his website). Months late but nice. However we immediately realized there was no provision to heat just the spa. All the heated water went to the pool meaning heating the spa to 100 meant having to heat the pool to 100. Seems odd but that is how it was. That was " fixed" by having all the heated water go to the spa. We found a way to make that work. Fast forward a year or so. We decided to sell the house, only to find out (once we had a contract) artistic pools had never had the final inspection performed. This was discovered by the title company when they uncovered the permit had not been closed. This required numerous visits by inspectors since the job failed inspection for several reasons some of which were related to work by artistic pools and/or whoever it contracted the work out to. (There were other issues from another company; that is another story). The delays could have made our buyers walk away. It was all so unneccessary. All that had to happen was artistic pools should have done the work as they said they would then they had to get the final inspections done. Seems simple and basic; just another sign of how far removed the owner of artistic pools was from our project. There are several pool companies in the Sarasota area. I suggest you think twice before using artistic pools. If you do use them I suggest you hire an additional contractor to oversee the job especially if like us you are not always around to check on the work. It all got done in the end; pool is beautiful and we had someone else in to fix some issues with the pools operation before we sold our house so the new owners wouldn't have any issues.

Resurfacing was subcontracted out. Tiling accomplished by Artistic pools. The primary issue was the follow up on several issues ranging from warranty information, operation of a new/different filtration system and especially the stains on the Jacuzzi wall that we have repainted and attempted to contact Artistic about. This was supposed to be a turn key operation. Once Artistic had the money he did a very poor job of following up. We have attempted to contact Artistic numerous times over the past 18 months with no call back.

Its beautiful. We are thrilled with the results. It is just gorgeous. The quality of work is great but his lack of communication is poor.

We were sold the pool remodel by a sales person at Artistic Pools of Sarasota. During the construction we had some communication issues with the sales person which led to us contacting TJ Warren, President of Artistic Pools of Sarasota, directly. From the moment we began working directly with TJ until well past the time construction was complete, we could not have been happier working with this company. Fortunately the sales person who was extremely difficult to work with was let go from the company. TJ Warren is very professional and takes extreme pride in his work. We had some issues with the pump which he resolved for us and even though he incurred extra costs he did not pass those costs onto us. Once the rainy season started we also had some issues with the travertine pavers, but TJ had the problem fixed immediately. TJ followed up several times to make sure we were not having any other issues and we were satisfied with the work. I highly recommend working with TJ Warren from Artistic Pools of Sarasota. He is true professional and we are very happy with our gorgeous new pool and deck.

We gave over our first check on August 7, 2012. We hoped to have a pool by Halloween, though we knew that was optimistic. Then we thought, maybe Thanksgiving, Nope. Christmas? Nope. How about Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Almost there! Done, a few weeks later. The work performed was really great, it just took a long time to be performed. We are very happy with the end product. We are just grateful that we didn't start the project in January, because then we would have been really disappointed not to have a pool in the summer. It took about two-three weeks to go through engineering, and then it took Artistic Pools a while to get the plans to the county. County gave their blessing early October. Hole was dug mid-late October. During the process, we were often told someone was coming to do something, but that person never showed up, so we would call TJ, and he'd get somebody else out within a day or two (most of the time). We had a safety cover installed, so apparently that took a while to be made, though that was not communicated initially. So, there were weeks that would go by, and nothing would be done, as we were in a waiting period. For a job that we were told would take 3 months, it took twice that long, which was very disappointing. That being said, we really are happy with the pool, and get lots of compliments. TJ is responsive when you call, and does try his best to make his customers happy. I just wonder if he needs to find better subs.

This was an overall lousy experience. I called on August 20, 2012 to schedule an estimate. The phone was answered. It sounded like the person who answered was on a cell phone and driving and somewhat distracted while speaking with me. We scheduled a consultation/estimate and five days later, no one showed up. My husband and I were especially discouraged by this because we have 2 very small children and had to rearrange our morning in order to do this. No one called to reschedule or apologize. I did not bother to call their number simple due to principle - I don't think I should have to call someone to remind them of an appointment since I am the potential customer. I'm glad this happened now instead of halfway through the work.
