We were away and when we returned we found our A/C system not working. We called the office and they had a technician call us within minutes, he tried to talk us through possible simple issues that could be wrong but when we could not get it going we asked for him to come to our house for a service call. It was about 4:30 in the afternoon when we first spoke to him. He told me he was on another job in Fort Myers but would be along shortly. Around 5:00 he called us back and said he was on his way. He arrived within 5 minutes of the time he said he was going to arrive, evaluated our system, came to us and explained and showed us that the system was down and detailed an estimate to repair the system in writing. He explained to us that we had a system that was still under warranty but was a Maytag unit and their warranty program was being run by a third party and we would have to submit a claim against the warranty before the work could proceed. He printed out the warranty paperwork that he got from the third party warranty program provider and walked us through the application. I discussed this with my wife and we decided to just replace the system. The technician prepared and estimate that compared 3 systems and had 3 levels of quality and efficiency. The estimate was extremely detailed and was computer generated right from his truck. We decided to pick a mid-line system with a few different options. We felt very comfortable with the technician. He was very informative and answered all our questions along with explaining the total operation of the system along with reviewing the written manufacturers warranty and the install procedures. He did a load calculation and reviewed it with us. We gave him a credit card to secure the purchase and proceeded to set up the install. The following day the install crew arrived promptly at 8 AM. The install went off without a hitch, by 2 PM the system was running and we were cool. The service tech stopped by at around 4 PM and made sure we were happy and the system was exactly what we bought. He reviewed our responsibilities to maintain the unit.
