Wakefield Floors is ian incredible team of professional - exceeded my expectations! My hardwood floors were in rough shape. The Wakefield team of experts restored the floors in my 1950s bungalow to pristine and gorgeous condition. The wood patina is stunning and glowing. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Matt and Wakefield Hardwood Floors. The project went very smoothly from the initial estimate through to the completed project. My floors now look beautiful, a significant change from what they looked like prior to being refinished. The floors had been a dark amber color, peeling in spots, and also wavy in several areas due to a bad refinishing job completed by the previous owners of the home. Now they are smooth. The decision to go with a natural wood color with matte finish turned out just perfect. A+ on all counts.

I was very concerned about doing this, but I must say Matt Wakefield and his people exceeded my expectations. The floor is beautiful, plus the movers scratched the floor putting back a very heavy piece of furniture. I called Matt and he sent over an outstanding man, his name is Will. He repaired the scratches to the point that I can’t identify exactly where they begin or ended. My wife and I are very pleased.

They were very hardworking, they handled themselves in a professional manner, and very knowledgeable. The floor looks excellent. I am extremely happy with the results.

I would not recommend this company. On February 3rd, 2020, I hired Wakefield Hardwood floors to refinish the wood flooring in my home. A total of 900 square feet, some of which was new, most of which was existing. I was told that the job would take about 3 days and that the new flooring would reasonably match the existing wood floors when the job was finished. What happened was the following: There were numerous delays for a variety of reasons, none of which I was made aware in a timely fashion. 3 days turned into more than 3 weeks. The new flooring that was supposed to "reasonably match" the existing flooring, in NO WAY matches it. I was harassed for additional payment contrary to the contract statement that " final payment is not due until final coat is applied". There are numerous blobs of stain on my new kitchen cabinets and polyurethane-encrusted tape at the base of them. I am satisfied with part of the work that Wakefield Flooring did, but extremely unhappy with other parts. I would not hire them again.

I wanted to share my experience with Wakefield Hardwood Floors. Will is an exceptional craftsman, as he changed our oak floors from old and tired to shiny and new! Matt was instrumental by educating us on the process and managing our expectations. Well, they wildly exceeded our expectations and will happily refer them to anyone looking to refresh their floors. Matt came out promptly and gave us a reasonable estimate. It was obvious that he knows the business well. Most of the work was done by Will who did an absolutely amazing job. We had these same floors refinished a few years ago by another highly rated contractor but the job Will did is superior by far in every way. The floors (heart of pine) are absolutely beautiful. We wouldn't consider using anyone else after this fantastic experience.

Why do they advertise and follow up if they don't service the Bradenton / Sarasota area?

Wakefield Hardwood Floors recently refinished all flooring in my home. I can’t convey how pleased I am with their stellar work & service. They were prompt & their professionalism was outstanding. My floors look brand new!! I receive compliments all the time. Mr Wakefield went above & beyond his scope of work, when I had an emergency & he assisted me with that too. I can’t say enough about how utterly thrilled I am about how gorgeous my nearly 70-year-old hardwood floors look after Wakefield worked their magic! Worth every penny and then some - it’s like a brand-new place! I literally can’t stand admiring them lol. I would recommend them to everyone, and will use them again in a heartbeat.

Wakefield did a great job on our floors and we would definitely recommend them. Their price was competitive and I liked that they were very professional and trustworthy. Matt came out with his team and made the process as easy as can be expected, moved out all of our furniture into the garage, tore out carpeting in two bedrooms and installed, sanded and finished with a beautiful espresso stain. I am in love with my floors and will be calling Wakefield again when I am ready to do the other rooms.

We had an excellent experience with Matt and his crew. Matt, the owner, oversaw the whole project and assisted with additional trim work which produced a very finished appearance. They offered to help move a couple big pieces of furniture, and provided good dust protection with plastic cloths, although with the HEPA filters they used when sanding, there was minimal duct to be found. They cleaned up after themselves on a daily basis and at the end there was nothing left behind but a beautiful floor. They offered to help us move some of the furniture back, but this was not necessary as we could do that ourselves. Matt made clear that we should contact him with any questions or concerns following the work and he provided additional help to us with care of our new floor. Will and Chris, who did most of the work were very professional, friendly, and tolerant of our dog throughout the project. That really made things easy for us. Overall, Wakefield provided us with a great finished product, we were able to stay in our home during the process, and the team was great to work with.

Overall, we were happy with the results. If I could give a B+, rather than a B, I would. The refinishing of the floors and the color of the wood were excellent. The threshold colors now match, which I assume wasn't completely straightforward because it was a different wood than the floors. Cost was very reasonable - they came in as the middle quote of the three companies we had do estimates (and a good deal cheaper than the most expensive). The owner, Matt, was very professional, generally quick to respond, and very easy to work with as there were a few changes to the work order even up to the day the work started. We only have a couple complaints, and they are minor. There is a decent amount of stain on the risers and even the sides of the stairs. There was also a decent amount on the baseboards that extends above the quarter round (that had been replaced as part of the job). There was also a hand print on one of the walls that we noticed after the job was done. Not a big deal for us as we planned on repainting the walls and stair risers anyway. The excess on the baseboards above the quarter round is understandable, albeit a bit inconvenient. The other minor complaint is that we requested the quarter round be replaced. The quarter round on our upstairs landing was not removed. Matt noticed this and gave us a credit for the work not being performed for that section. Also, the install of the new quarter round is a little lacking in a few areas, but that will be easily remedied with some wood putty and paint. I would also like to add that at the end of the job, Matt went around and touched up any areas where the stain couldn't reach (we had some problematic nooks and crannies). He was EXTREMELY meticulous about this. The pride in the work his company does is obvious. Despite the minor complaints, I would recommend Wakefield and would use them again.

Matt did a phenomenal job of sanding down, staining and refinishing the manufactured hardwood floors in my condo. The floors had previously been sanded several years ago, making Matt's margin for error even smaller and he managed to pull it off with no burn-throughs or other issues. He was able to get the floors the exact color I wanted them and they look like brand new floors. I would highly recommend him again, especially for jobs that require a delicate touch on the sanding.

We were told by another company that our floors were too worn and could not be refinished. They wanted to charge us a ton to put new in. Matthew not only refinished our floors beautifully but was prompt, professional, timely, great at communication and highly interested in our unique wood in our floors. It was one of the most pleasant and easy experiences I have ever had with a job at the house. I would HIGHLY recommend them. The cost was also very reasonable. I would hire them again.

Wakefield was communicative, punctual, on time and on-budget and produced a high quality result. You cannot expect better than that. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Matt is a true artist. He came in, looked at my floors, and have me great advice. I had originally thought to stain the floors, but Matt suggested just sanding them down and sealing them to let the natural color show through. He was dead on. He and his assistant showed up promptly for three days, and at the end, I had 600 square feet of gleaming vintage floors. Matt also replaced a broken board with a vintage piece of white oak he'd salvaged from another job. You can't even tell where it was repaired. I've already contacted him to come back and lay matching white oak in the back of the house to replace the existing carpet. Very pleased with the quality of Matt's work.

The color of the wood floor is a very unique taupe / gray color that Matt had to custom match. Matt tried several ways and got the stairs to match the wood floor very well (even-though they were different wood types / grain). We love our stairs, and had a very pleasant experience working with Matt. Highly recommend him!
