US INSTALLATION GROUP INC

Two young men along with an older man were to install carpeting for my entire house. the threee of them showed up with a bad attitude in the first place. They were not interested in the job at hand and spoke disrepectfully to my husband. We were told to move all electronic equipment and anything that was of great value. We did as we were told. We paid extra money to have them move a few pieces of furniture and also paid extra to remove old carpet and carpet padding. The men told my husvband they were NOT going to remove any of the furniture and that was our responsibility. They just did not want to work and as I said WE PAID upfront to have the carpet and padding removed and furniture moved. They were so nasty in language and total lack of professionalism, they refused to do what we paid for and left on their own accord. We called Home Depot and reported this installation company. I see the other reviews and had I checked this out before hand I would have gone to another company. I am shocked that Home Depot still used this company for carpet installation. I see the other comments that work was not done and the customer was still charged for service that was not perform. I will tell you that if that happens to me that I will contact a lawyer. I will NOT PAY for service that was never given. I am beginning to think this company is a sham. My advise is to not buy anything from Home Depot until they change installation company.

THEY ARE HORRIBLE. I waited for over a month for them to start the job. First, off to make the job easier the carpet had already been removed from the dining area and sitting area. The work man came and began measuring the leveling of the floor. Automatically, he states that the floors would need to be leveled.for an 11x17 area, it would need an additional 25 bags of cement and an additional labor charge for more work this would average to be around my paying 6,000.00 for an area that size. Furthermore, he had a really unprofessional attitude. I told him no. The next thing I knew, from my refund was deducted 300.00 dollars that they claim was labor for removing carpet. I spoke to Home Depot about this. To continue to remain marketable with other companies, Home Depot needs to consider their association with this company. Their name is the one in the forefront not USIG. I had the job done with someone else for way less than what he wanted.

Lot's of problems with the whole process handing off between HD, their measuring company, and their installation contracting company USIG. There were 2 visits from the measuring company, and a disclaimer that additional charges may be needed after demo is started. Day of install, the installer was there 3.5 hours talking with USIG and HD trying to get authorization to begin work. Finally USIG decided they needed $1250 more. I canceled the job. USIG charged $200 for the installer's time anyway, even though no work was done and I had nothing to do with the delay. I can understand additional charges due to surprizes after demo begins, but tripling the price on the day of the job, before starting the work? Something is wrong with the process. A well-rated AngiesList tile contractor finished the project beautifully and for much less.
