Description of Work: Mike does a decent job, IF and WHEN he decides to show up. He lies about his schedule and reasons he can't show up i.e. broken chain saw, wife has to go to the clinic, etc. and asks to be paid in cash, with repeated cash advances (e.g. What do you have in terms of cash at home? I need some gas money). He is rather expensive too, as I found out later. We paid him to help clean up the yard and he said he needed to charge $2000 (which we later reduced to $1200) for a $600 job because of his $2 million insurance policy for general liability, dump fees, etc. needed for working for large companies. He said he would start on Monday but instead worked an hour and took off after asking for $400 as a deposit and didn't show up for 3 more days, leaving the yard a mess. He is unreliable, and if you ever hire him, ask to see his policy and have him sign a contract of timeliness and delivery. Otherwise you might never see him and don't be fooled by paying him upfront based on his sob stories.

Mike has trimmed trees, yard clean up and planted palms for me. He started installing an irrigaion system in November 2009 and it is still not complete (it is now 8/13/10). He was supposed to meet me at a low cost place to get plants for my yard and due to my hectic schedule, the nursery schedule and more importantly and the biggest factors, his lack of motivation and time, we still have not completed that (I have been trying since march to complete my landscaping!!). He has cancelled on me and re-scheduled numerous times, and several times just not shown up. I had him start servicing my yard, then got him 2 other accounts and tried to get him a 3rd account but he was not motivated and did not follow through with it. He doesn't work on weekends and he will occassionally skip weeks of lawn service if it rains. I would have looked past all of that and moved on, but today he stole 2 of the palm trees out of my yard that i had him plant in early July! I caught him doing it!! These trees were paid for BY ME and paid to have them planted BY ME!! His excuse was that I owe him $ for the irrigation system. The irrigation system is 50% completed and I have paid him 50% of the price for it. He also stole a hose and the irrigation piping that was in that flower bed. (it was a hose that he had purchased for me after his service ran over my other hose with a mower and it wasn't repairable).
