Total Air has persuasive, friendly salespeople, so we joined their Total Air Club (living in FL, you don't mess with AC). But we quickly found the "perks" they claim are a lie, and if you need reliable AC, you're on your own! They recommended we replace our 7-year-old unit with a brand new, bigger unit after a minor service issue, so we did. Installation was a nightmare! Took a week (they estimated a 2-day job), they made a 4-ft hole in our wall to wire it and it took weeks to get that fixed. 3 months later, the AC freezes over (!). It takes 4 days to thaw it, assess the issue, order parts and get it fixed (so much for "same day, priority service")! 2 months later, the compressor fails in May and we have a 90+ degree house. We called Friday morning, they didn't show up until Sat. evening, couldn't actuallly fix it until Tues. night. Wouldn't pay for our AirBnB. Don't fall for their pitch - they have faulty equipment and sham "perks."

I had a brand new Amana System put in at the beginning of March to the tune of almost $8,000. Within a week, it was evident that it was not performing correctly because in the heat of the afternoon, the temperature in the house increased to 79 with the thermostat set to 76, and the air conditioning just ran constantly until it called down outside over the night. Additionally, I was sneezing constantly and waking up completely stuffed up. Sent pics of the thermostat, and described what was going on and that this had never occurred with the 2 previous systems I had. The first time they came out, they replaced the thermostat. This did nothing. They came out a second time and did something with switches in the handler. This did Nothing. They came out a third time and did a static pressure test after which I was told that they had to contact the manufacturer, but it appeared to be the duct work which they had not touched and had been perfectly fine with the previous 2 installations. I did not hear from them for a week after this during which time, the City Inspector had come and found 2 additional problems that required them to fix … grommets on the handler and 1/4” discharge pvc tubing rather than 1/2” which pooled on my patio. When I contacted them, they wanted to come out and fix this, but when I stated that I could care less about these items and wanted the problem with my system fixed, I was told that, “Everything checked out fine.” I went ballistic as my electric bill was beyond excessive, and the house temperature was still increasing to 79 with the thermostat set to 76. On Thursday, July 13th, they returned late in the afternoon. The installation manager promised that everything would be fixed that day. Instead, they left before telling me what they had found. A day later I received a report that stated they found a leak in the Plenum and would have to come out again and install a new Plenum. This was scheduled for between 8 am and 10 am on July 24th, and the Installation Manager said that he was 100% sure this would fix the problem. At 10:30 am, I was called and told that they were running late and would be there in an hour (had requested the am since I knew they would have to turn the a/c off). By 1 pm, they still hadn’t arrived, so I sent a message stating that I had things that I needed to do. By 1:45, someone showed up. However, he did not finish until 8 pm, and the temperature in the house was 85 for almost 6 hours! I still don’t know if the problem is fixed as it does not occur until late afternoon when the outside temperature is high. I have my doubts as this company is beyond horrible in EVERY category!!

I am shocked by Total Air’s deception in not disclosing damages done by their installers; in charging me the balance due in full without my knowledge or consent and without owning up to the damages they caused or arranging for repairs; and by their callousness in neglecting to repair these damages in a timely manner--especially when I had given them such a glowing reference before I discovered the damages. Their actions have caused me financial harm estimated to be more than $800 and I expect to be reimbursed immediately: • On May 9, considerable damage was done to most of a closet ceiling by Total Air’s ductwork installers; • Total Air installers discarded the “evidence” (the huge chunk of ceiling that came down) and never told us of this damage, and neither did their install manager (we discovered the damages on Sunday, May 14, when putting items away in this closet); • Total Air never provided me with an invoice that would have revealed that they had charged my credit card for the full balance for the duct work despite these damages, something I never would have agreed to until those damages were repaired; • Although no one ever contacted me to own up to these damages nor to discuss repairs or final payment, someone from Total Air scribbled something illegible under ‘Authorized Signature,” then charged me for final payment in full; • Total Air's invoice states that a "Drywall guy" would be out on May 10, the day after installation (no one showed up); and manager "Lindsay" committed in numerous phone conversations with me to have the repair work done no later than Wednesday, May 17, so that blown-in attic insulation work could proceed as planned on the morning of May 18--otherwise, this blown insulation would fall through the enormous hole Total Air's installers left behind; • However, no one representing Total Air ever contacted me to arrange for repairs nor offer any temporary assistance whatsoever (i.e., cover up the enormous hole temporarily until final repairs could be made); Total Air must reimburse me immediately and in full for the damages done by their installers and for the emergency patch job I had to scramble to get done. Shame on Total Air for its unethical conduct in hiding the damages they caused and for abandoning their responsibility to repair these damages without causing me further harm by interfering with scheduled insulation work. I have suffered a tremendous amount of anxiety and stress as a result of their callousness.

Do not use this company, I manage over 150 homes and tried using this company for a few months they would send a tech out to a job he would work on a unit then the following day send a different tech and this tech would say certain things are wrong with the unit, i told him the tech that came out the following day is the tech that repaired it that way, after placing a call to the manager it did no good, then 6 months down the road they send out an invoice. They would schedule repairs on certain days and not make it therefore i would have to call another company to do the repairs, they would show up a day or so late after another company made the repairs and would have the nerve to send me an invoice 6 months down the road. Their tech's are inexperienced and the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. STAY AWAY!!! there are many other reputable companies in town that provide great service

Jason was my representative and gave me a call when he was on his way, and was quick and efficient. I would highly recommend using them- we had 2 other quotes that would badger us with phone calls or completely overpriced.

Work was excellent. Estimating; The estimate was very thorough, and was down in a timely fashion. Addressed all elements, ducts, electrical, basic AC etc. Very knowledgeable, and final cost was right at estimate (although it took a couple of hours longer than original estimate, no cost increase). Promptness: Estimator and technicians arrived right in schedule, unheard of in this area. Very Happy. Quality: Installed an Amana unit inside and out, and I am very happy: Workmanship: Very meticulous work. All wiring hidden, copper lines are "squared up". Far better than original install. Technicians took enormous pride in their work, wanted everything perfect. Perfomance: Huge improvement over old system. Much better air flow, and much quieter. The team did an excellent job. Quality Control: Before the team could leave, a supervisor had to come out and double check work, again unheard of that a company cares that much. The supervisors QC was thorough, and discovered the install was very well done. Cleaning: The team cleaned up the work areas, including vacuuming,, sweeping etc. Areas at least as clean as when they arrived. Knowledgable: The techs were very knowledgable, and knew not only what to do, but why it was important. That "second level" knowledge is huge in getting a perfect install, not just a system slapped in. They also identified was was wrong with my old install, which were several items including inadequate wiring and a severely crimped freon line. Both were fixed in a professional manner, Use them again: YES. Prompt, professional, and fair pricing. Highly advise them.

FIND ANOTHER COMPANY FOR YOUR AC REPAIR!!! My beef is with the cost of parts! I was charged $249.11 for a contactor! This same contactor is $30.50 on Amazon including shipping. That is more than a 700% markup from total air inc! The service call was $79.95. The installation and repair of a wire only took 15 minutes. The Teck was here for about 30 minutes. The repair was completed satisfactorily. They act professional but; would a professional price gouge like this?

Both my wife are on oxy 24/7 and after 27 years in the house decided it was time to have AC installed that wasn'r a wall unit or window shaker..we called several contractors and Total Air was the only one that came in and sais NO PROBLEM..it took an extra day to get in but that was really expected with the space restraints we put on them...job was great and we really appreciated all the hard work..
Description of Work: Total Air installed a complete AC system where none had been previously..in a very limited space for the ductwork..no other company would do the job with altering my ceilings..very good experience considering the job...Thanks

I contacted Total Air of St. Petersburg Fl. by phone. I am an Angie's list member from Ft lauderdale/Miami. They provided a fair and timely estimate. They performed the work around my schedule. Which was shortly after my closing on the property. They did the complete job, installed a new AC unit, slab, everything. everything was done within one day. They did a wonderful job, and I would highly recomend without question Mark Hartley Pembroke Pines Fl.

I hadn't used my A/C in quite a few months. When the weather started getting warm, I turned it on and only warm air would blow out. My neighbor had just had A/C work done and he recommended I call Total Air. I called them and set-up a time for a service person to come out. I was pleased that they were prompt because I couldn't take much time off from work to wait around. The service guy, I think his name was John, was very nice with a professional appearance. He checked everything out and said I had a faulty capacitor. He had me up and running in no time and I was sooooo glad it wasn't a super expensive problem.
Description of Work: Total Air replaced a compressor capacitor in my A/C unit.
