Description of Work: A representative came out for an estimate. He had left his ladder so couldn't actually look at my space, but did describe my problem perfectly. I asked about radiant barriers and types of insulation. He really only wanted to talk about cellulose which is a green product so when he told all the benefits, I agreed. I feel the other products or possible combinations were dismissed and may have provided a better result. I do believe in going green, but using less electricity is also a green concept. I asked if the actual space could be checked when they came to install. Don't know if it was, no information was conveyed to me. The men arrived on time, blew in the insulation, and I paid the bill. Over 2 weeks later, the smell was still really bad. I called and the girl said maybe there was a ventilation problem? Shouldn't that have been addressed if there was one? I waited it out and it is not a problem now. However- I have not noticed any improvement in the cooling, and the problems the estimator described so well are still here. I had them put in R30 which I was told would solve the issues. It hasn't. I have had insulation added in a previous home and could really tell the difference. I told the rep. about neighbors who had had great luck with a radiant barrier. W as told that only helped the roof. Other options were passed over in favor of the cellulose. Needless to say, I am disappointed and did not enjoy the smell.

Description of Work: Had two different types of insulation in attic. This was recommended because the house's interior was finished differently. This service was performed on our vacation home and we were there just one week. The company gave us an estimate on Monday or Tuesday and was back on Friday to do the job. They provided me Progress Energy's phone number to call for energy credit for $100. We installers were very polite, put plastic on the floor to catch any dust, etc. Before leaving they asked my husband if he would like to inspect the job before they close attic access. Note: they used the door knob, so I didn't have any dirt finger marks to clean off my white front door. That meant a lot to me. Diana -Treasure Island

Description of Work: I was on vacation and left a check for them to take out the old insulation. I called when I was out of town and they said they did it. When I got home, it was not done, but the check was left there.
