We hired Maintech to address a leak in our pool in early December. They quickly found a leak in the skimmer area and patched it. They drew lines in the skimmer to monitor the water level over the next couple days to see if the problem was corrected. 4 days later, and our pool was down approximately 3 inches. Upon calling them, they stated that it was most likely evaporation, but would come out and check it. When they checked it, they put putty on the pool light area (which they said they didn't notice a leak at, but would patch it just in case). I called them a week later stating that we were still losing about an inch a day until the water level got to the skimmer and then it would stay at the same level. I notified them that we also did the bucket test and the results clearly showed that we were losing water. He still said it must be evaporation, but agreed to come out the following Wednesday to check it one more time. If he found a leak, there would be no charge, but if he didn't, he would have to charge me a $90 service fee. I stayed home from work on Wednesday to meet Maintech, but they never showed up. I sent them text messages and called 2 times and left voice mails. Neither were returned. I would NEVER recommend using Maintech, I just threw $250 down the drain...literally. Now I am going to have to pay another company to come out and do the job that Maintech was paid to do and did not complete!

The review is totally false considering we have never done work for [Member Name Removed] He must be confused on whom he hired. Please provide a record of service via receipt or invoice.

I called Steve as my pool heater was not working. He said it was two malfunctioning heater limits (sensors) and it would take days to have them shipped from somewhere else in FL. However, he said the heater had multiple sensors (limits) in series, but as soon as one stopped working he could not test others which may also be bad: "The unit has multiple safety switches in series. When there is a problem with a safety switch in that series the unit is testable up till the bad one is identified. Anything beyond the bad component will not get power due to the bad component." Initial confusion started with why he was able to determine 2 limits were bad for the initial bill, but warned their maybe others that could only be tested one at a time. Shouldn't we have started with only one limit if the system was in series? Ironically after the 2 limits were installed another limit (sensor) was required that was available immediately to finish the job. Interesting that this limit was immediately available, but the others required shipping. Heater was working after all of this was done. At the initial visit Steve noted that water was under the pool pump. I told him that when the pump shuts off water spills out the top lid. I also informed him that other pool companies had said this was normal. He said it was not and would fix it for $40. Unfortunately I allowed him to do it. After he was done water no longer spilled out of the lid when the pump was turned off because he had the lid on so tight it could not be removed. Concept of over tightening the lid and its detrimental effects are well documented on the web. Google "Do no over tighten pool pump lid when water squirts out." I also had a new leak from the pipe that exited the pool pump after his fix. Articles on the web will discuss how over tightening the lid will damage the seal on the threaded inlet and outlet pipes. When I raised all these issues to Steve his responses are as follows: "I disagree, so from the factory the pump is supposed to leak when it's shut off? If it leaks and drains down over night it will loose prime. Which will cause the pump to get hot. Anyway, I loosened the lid for you. It was not to tight but must of been to tight for you. The pump has a small leak at the plumbing where it's threaded into the pump. While the lid was squirting water it wasn't noticeable due to the amount of water on the slab. Now that the pump lid is not leaking and soaking the surrounding area it is now noticeable. It can be replumbed vary easily. We can take care of it and the cost would be $102.50." The pump lid was never leaking and soaking the surrounding area while running. I asked Steve to simply refund the money for the pool lid o-ring and fix the leak of the pipe. He refused. Another company repaired the leak in the pipe for half of the cost. During this same visit Steve also tried to talk me into buying an electric panel cover as well. I also worked with Steve on another project regarding the pump months ago. Again at the end of it he said he needed another part and added on an extra $14 charge. Steve looks for work and finds little ways to add to the bill. Based on my experience he does not understand pool equipment. He will not stand behind his work. Buyer beware.

We cannot stock every single part for every single piece of equipment that is out in the field. We diagnose the unit and the Diagnostics can only take you as far as the malfunctioning parts. Any parts beyond the malfunctioning part do not receive voltage or amperage. This customer apparently expected us to drive around with every part for every machine unfortunately we cannot do that. Once the unit was fixed it worked properly and he was satisfied. Hence he paid for the invoice in person. If he was not satisfied or the project was not complete he simply would not have paid wouldn't he?

Steve is great, easy to reach by phone, and very professional. He knows what he is talking about, he is honest and always informs us of what is going on. We have been using MainTech since August 2015, when we moved into our house. Steve was referred to us by a friend that lives in Venetian Isles that has used him for years. When we moved into the house in August the previous owner left pool chemicals in the garage. I have kids and this made me uneasy having chemicals laying around. I asked Steve how I should dispose of them properly and he offered to pick them up and take care of it for me(at no cost). I was impressed by the "above and beyond" effort- which shows to me great character! My husband and I have been very happy and will continue to use MainTech and refer them to others!
Description of Work: We use MainTech for weekly pool maintenance(chemicals, cleaning, etc...) We pay a flat fee monthly. We have also used MainTech for repair services for our pool and hot tub.

In the course of just over a week, he came out looked at the old heater, gave me an estimate via email and installed the new one. I was very impressed with his timeliness and professionalism. He is a really nice guy too! I was going to get another bid, but when they asked about Steve's bid the other company told me that he is a good guy and is giving me a very reasonable price and that they could not beat it. I would definitely call Steve back for any pool equipment issues.
Description of Work: Steve installed a new propane, electric ignition Hayward spa heater.

I called MainTech at about 1 pm to have them come out to check out why all the lights were out on the control panel for my pool. No chlorine was being generated so I needed to get the item fixed. He was at my house by 3 pm the same afternoon. He fully explained what the problem was and my different options for repairing/replacing. He replaced the circuit board and finished in less than 30 minutes. While he was here, I mentioned a problem I was having with the drain pipe for my pool. He had an easy fix and repaired the PVC drain pipe and didn't charge me for that little extra. Great company. Highly recommend. I'll be using them for any other pool problems I have.

MainTech Pool Solutions didn't really give a concise estimate. At first he told me I didn't need 220 for the pump and then when I told him I was going to take his bid and he got here with his equipment he said I was going to need a 220. When he converted the pool to salt it was like green for 3 weeks and I kept trying to get a hold of him. I asked him what was the story and why wasn't it nice and clear he wasn't really informative. He was just a big pain in the butt and I would never use him again.
Description of Work: I used MainTech Pool Solutions to put in a new pool pump and converted the pool to salt water. He also put in a deco drain for us.

We did multiple projects for this customer. The project she has a complaint with is the first project. She hired us two more times afterwards without any complaints. She must be bipolar or has buyer's remorse

Excellent
Description of Work: We rent our home. The landlord's pool service provider has done a horrible job, and stated that the problems we were having would involve approx. $1,000 in repairs. We brought in Steve from Maintech, I don't even recall how we got in touch with him. He moved a few switches, tightened a few wires... and voila.. our pool functions flawlessly. There was NOTHING wrong that an honest pool person couldn't fix. We toldthe landlord that their provider was not welcome on the property, and Maintech has done all of our service ever since. Our Pool sparkles - I don't know what sort of things it is the Steve did - all I know is that the pool is crystal clear every day, and has been for the last year that he has serviced our pool - and that in the 2 years before then - there was always problems. Isn't that the way its supposed to be? Pay a guy, and forget about it. Steve, is great at what he does, totally trustworthy, and our pool looks great. Jeff
