+ -1 moreI have used Tommy's services before and have been satisfied with his work. He is a one-man operation, so sometimes he's able to come right out, but this time he would be available in approximately a week. After about 10 days he called me and informed me he was available. He either came out that day or the next, I can't recall. I told him what I needed to be done, he made a list and went to the plumbing supply store (approx. $210 of the total cost), then promptly returned and started working. He did not leave until the job was finished as has been my experience with him before. I think it was after 7:00 p.m. when he was finally done. He always promptly returns phone calls. I called him after the job was done to ask about the "template" and he called right back and answered my question.
Description of Work: I had already ripped down the tile and drywall surrounding the bathtub leaving the pipes exposed so I thought this would be a good time to replace the 45-year-old faucet that constantly dripped. Tommy came out, I explained what I wanted done, he cut off the old brass pipes from the two-handled faucet and soldered in new brass pipes and a valve for the new Moen one-handled model. He informed me that the trend now was to place the shower higher up on the wall (he gave me an exact measurement, but now I can't recall what it was). I agreed, so he brought in a reciprocating saw and cut some more of the drywall out to make room for the higher shower head. He added an additional 2"x4" between the studs to brace the higher pipe. He put a temporary "stub" on the end of the shower head and a template around the valve so the drywall and tile could be cut accordingly. He also replaced the old "flip-handle" drain with a new "lift and drop" model.
