I called Jay and he rearranged appointments so he could take care of us the same day. He was detailed in his quote so I clearly understood what the charges would be. I received other quotes that were more than $100.00 higher for the same service. Jay was very professional and completed the job quickly.

I called John, he was in the area and able to come by in 10 minutes. I had five door locks I wanted rekeyed. He was able to perform the service in about 30 minutes and give me the spare keys I needed. He also gave me some advice on home security and new updated locks that are available. It was a great experience!

Jay was very responsive in scheduling an appt with me. He was very professional and helpful in explaining what he was going to do. He was also kind enough to tell me which of my palm trees might be dead and how to tell. I am new to Florida so this was extremely helpful.

Excellent service. Made the appointment for 10:00. Jay called at 9:10 to say he could come over now if I wanted which was fine. Went right to work and tightened the locks and in the process, showed me what to do in the future if they became loose again. *** I had never had the locks re-keyed before and he correctly surmised that the locks had the original master pins in them which meant that when the home was built there were master keys made to give to the subs so they could do the inside construction. He re-keyed both locks and made 5 keys for me. Jay did an excellent, fast and efficient job and with all the bad press lately regarding dishonest locksmiths, it was great to find one that was honest, reliable and reasonable. There is no finer individual that I have met. Trust this individual with your house. He is honest, ethical and tenacious. He worked at fixing my latch for 1.5 hours, attempting various methods to fix it and then only charged me $65. I kept on saying "You've tried hard" "Its better than it was!" But he persisted and fixed it. I will never use another locksmith period.

Found Jay's Locksmith Company on Angie's List (on-line). Reviewed previous reports. What's important to me when researching Angie's List, was there were recent (November 2009) reports available for my review. I generally steer clear of those companies with older and no recent reports. All reviewed reports showed excellent rating. I called Jay's Locksmith Company and spoke with owner/operator John Smoak. Explained my situation (couldn't open the door to gain entry to/from my attached garage from the main living area). John took my information and advised he was enroute to another job, and should be able to be at my home within 45 minutes or so. John was prompt (right on time!). He was able to get the door open after a bit of prodding. He could have told me I needed to replace the entire door handle/lock system, but instead replaced the necessary parts for the door handle to open/close the door properly.The price charged ($50.00) was extremely reasonable considering his quick response to my call. John was very professional, courteous, and completed the job in a timely manner. I will definitely use John's services again, if the need arises. And, I will highly recommend Jay's Locksmith Company to any consumer in need of locksmith services.

We needed to have lock rekeyed at our business. We called a different locksmith and scheduled an appointment weeks prior. When they got there they wouldn't tell us how much they were going to charge. They didn't tell us until we said we wouldn't pay more than $150; They were going to charge us $185! We had just signed up for Angie's list and we found Jay's Locksmith. He gave us a quote over the phone and said he would be out on the same day! We told the other company "Anderson L...." to leave. Jay was courteous, professional and friendly. He was done in no time. He was excellent and we recommended him to our building land lord and now they are using Jay's Locksmith too. We are so glad we found him.

He was very punctual - in fact he was in the area and asked if he could come early. I wasn't ready for him yet and he did not complain. He made a couple of suggestions about security and losing keys that I appreciated.

The work was done exactly as requested and we were able to move into the house without any worries about security.

I called Jay's at approximately 11:00 A.M. He (Jay) advised that he would come at approximately 1:30 P.M. John called me back at 11:30 and indicated his previous customer was not home and that he would come in 15 minutes. He was here within 15 minutes. Jay was respectful, courteous informative,knowledgeable and thorough and he cleaned up after himself. He was done within an hour. "Reasonable" and "professional" are understatements when describing Jay's Locksmith Co. Before today I had never met Jay nor had I ever heard of his company but it has been a pleasure writing this report. I would and will recommend this company to anyone seeking a locksmith company that embodies the qualities outlined in this report. This is what Angie's List is all about.

Jay was the second locksmith I called on a Saturday morning to see if he had a 5" mechanism front door knob. He didn't but he offered to talk me through fixing the one I had so I could get out my front door the same day. Jay gave me instructions over the phone as I disassembled and reconnected the door knob to my front door. This was all with a hyperactive 8 year old in the background talking in my other ear. Jay was extremely patient as I "fixed" my own doorknob which I have never done before in my life. Many thanks to Jay for helping me out and saving me some money. I am very touched by this act of kindness.

I was able to get a same day appointment and Jay completed the whole project in less than 1 hour. The price was very reasonable.

First let me say that my problem was fixed within an hour of contacting Jay's. Jay was very very prompt, courteous and professional. Upon his prompt arrival, he inspected the lock and quickly assessed what need to be repaired and replaced. He was done within minutes and left no trace except a working front door.

He gives great service, excellent quality, and as a professional locksmith, he has access to a larger variety and higher quality of products. He is a very nice guy to work with.

JAY WAS GOING TO LEAVE TOWN WHEN THIS HAPPENED (THIS MONDAY OCTOBER 3). HE HAD A BUSY DAY PLANNED BUT TOOK OUT TIME TO HELP US IMMEDIATELY WITH OUR EMERGENCY. WE WOULD DEFINITELY COUNT ON HIM AGAIN.

HE CALLED BACK RIGHT AFTER WE CALLED, SHOWED UP THE NEXT DAY ON TIME, AND DID A GREAT JOB. HE PRESENTED NUMEROUS OPTIONS TO US, AND EXPLAINED HOW HIS PRODUCT WAS BETTER QUALITY THAN WE COULD HAVE GOTTEN AT A HOME IMPROVEMENT STORE.
