The job description is an understatement. Mike is more artist and craftsman than mere technician. Plus, a really nice guy. His crew, usually Mike plus son and helper, are easy to work with. Although Mike traveled about 50 miles to this project, he was flexible and rearranged his schedule to mine several times to fit our needs. He also changed the job sequence to meet our needs with other contractors working on the house at that time. The repairs done to holes in the floor are virtually invisible. Note to prospective clients - do NOT remove tackless strip yourself - Mike, etc. know how to do it with minimal damage and rework to the floor. Same with tile. To say he repairs holes and makes stains go away is understatement. This is the artist in Mike, plus some black magic. He knows from long experience which brews will lift stains that look impossible. He's got a period marble chip collection that perfectly matched our 55 year old floor. When doing the patching of holes, he was not satisfied with several patches (I saw no problem!), tore them out, and started again. Slight residual staining ("shadows") that he pointed out I couldn't really see . Ultimate accolade. Since the job has been completed, people who have seen the finished floors commented that they had their Terrazzo refinished with poor results, and at higher cost. A couple of them had the floors done twice, trying to get the results we did. Everyone who has terrazzo asks for Mike's info. More than fair price. A bargain for the result. On time, on budget. The restored floor makes the house and changed the direction of its restoration.

Initially, 4 or 5 mens worked in the house for about 2 and a half weeks. When they were done, the results were nothing short of spectacular. Level of finish, mending of cracks. 24 months later I had noticed some serious discoloring in areas of the floor, and all of the cracks that had been invisible where now showing. I called and left a message for Mike on July 13th at 2 p.m. and then again July 20 1:25 P.M. A week later I finally got a call back and subsequent to that he made a visit to the house. He said that in fact the discoloring was residual stain left in the floor from carpet pad. He said the reappearing cracks were the result of continuing settling of the house. Being a contractor, I dont think that is the case of this 50 year old house. Further, the cracks are NOT opening up due to separation; the material used to fill the cracks is shrinking and being drawn down into the crack. Mike said that perhaps, he or I could try to varnish stain remover on those portions of the floor that has discolored; he never returned. I then I had Finish Line Floors in to review the situation. They confirmed that the restoration process had not removed all of the old stain out of the floor. Further, the presentation of the cracks was the result of improperly mixed filler. As the material is aging, it is being drawn down into the crack. Again, Mike never bothered to follow up on the progress of this $7,000 job.

He did a great job. I just gave him my house key while I took care of my dad while he was passing. I was very, very happy with his work and his price. The work was beautiful. He educated me on the up keep. He is someone you can trust with your home keys. I called him and he started the next day. He is very professional. He is just a nice guy.

There was less furniture to move for that and it was only the porch, so I would be more inclined to repeat that. I spent a little less than $500 on that service. My interaction with them was okay.

I submitted a request for an estimate though Angie's List and never heard from them.

Arrived on time. Finished the job within estimated time frame. Floors look very nice. The removal of the bamboo was difficult so there was some minor dings (on woodwork) here and there. Overall very happy with work (especially for the price). Owner is very nice.

This job went well from start to finish. On time, on price, very flexible. I heard about Mike from my neighbor. We marveled at their beautiful floor and asked who did it. Now we have a beautiful floor too. He is the best, but he is reasonably priced. If you have terrazzo, call Gulf Coast.

Michael Oliver and his crew did an amazing job of restoring some 45 year old terrazzo floors to "like new" condition. I could not have even imagined that he could have done such an amazing job. Apparently the floors had been honed but never polished - I certainly don't remember them ever looking like they do now. On the porch there was a long deep crack (15 ft. long and one side raised up 1/4 of an inch) that was repaired to be undetectable. There was an additional crack in the entry way (about 9 ft, long) that was also repaired to be undetectable. I was more than thrilled with the work that this company performed. I was happy to write the check. The following day, I walked into the living room to find that the crew who was boring holes (for termite control) was in the midst of ruining my newly restored terrazzo floors on the porch. I could barely talk, but asked him to stop. 5 holes had already been drilled. To my amazement, Mr. Oliver returned some days later and repaired those 5 holes (they are completely undiscernable) at NO COST!!! That was amazing! During my open house (after the renovation was complete), everyone that came to visit commented on the terrazzo floors and asked the name of the company that accomplished the work - how happy I was (and am) to recommend Gulf Coast Floor Maintenance!!!

They did a terrific job. They worked very hard and did the work at a reasonable price. They gave very good creative solutions to some of the flooring problems that I had and I would definitely recommend them.

We planned to hire different company ( finish line ) but after we keep rescheduling many times ( late closing, out of town, child sick etc ). The company suggest Gulf Coast . We called and mike came and gave us the estimate. We agree right away. We stay in the hotel for 4 days while they do the job and ..we are so happy to see the result. My new neighbor also amazed ( we bought the house next to each other and they did not buy this one because of the ugly/dirty carpet ). There was long crack on the terrazzo, some holes ( they nail the carpet )..and you hardly can see it, now. Awesome job

I am glad to have found this service provider and very happy to be able to add him to Angie's List. Mike took a lot of time to explain the process beforehand and made sure we understood how to maintain the floor afterwards. If you need care for your terrazzo, I would recommend this company.
