Description of Work: When our furnace could not keep our house warmer than 54 degrees, even after a cold spell had ended, I asked my plumber if he knew anyone who could help (I had had previous bad experiences with furnace repair people). They recommended Rich Modini at Guard Mechanical Services. He showed up promptly and said he didn't mind if I watched. He explained what he was doing and why and analyzed each component of the furnace until he found the culprit. A switch which had previously been replaced, but left at its default (and incorrect) setting (I already mentioned my previous bad experiences, right?) He set the switch properly and our furnace performed like a champ for the remainder of our record-breaking cold and snowy winter! I can't say enough good things about Rich, his abilities, patience and professionalism!

+ -1 moreJohn Guard was very professional and pointed out areas that need attention. He really cares about the customer and you can depend on him.
Description of Work: He re-oriented the two furnace pumps on the furnace so they are mounted the correct way. He flushed out the furnace. He also re-mounted armor flex insulation on a few pipes. He removed rust and painted the furnace values to prevent rust. He resealed a spicket on the furnace to prevent water leaking out. He removed rust and painted the outside oil pipe that goes in the house.

+ -1 moreJohn was extremely thorough to evaluate my whole HVAC system. He was able to discover the cause why my HVAC wasn't working as well as it should. He gave valuable suggestions on how the HVAC could be better such as moving the thermostats to the loft instead of the master bedroom, adding HVAC dampers to control the airflow on the 2nd floor and etc. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants a good HVAC guy. Did I mention they offer 7/24 service if there is ever an emergency.
Description of Work: He assessed my HVAC environment in my house to see why my house was not cooling well. He spent 2 hours checking the whole HVAC system e.g., boiler, two air handlers and two condensers in my house.
