Al was courteous and professional. It was a small working space but they did a great job with really good attention to detail. They even caulked!

When I contacted Al, I told him I was in a hurry because I was only going to be in town for a few days. He came out that day and assessed the job and priced it. He bought materials and returned a couple of days later with his helper. The worked for several hours and got the job done early in the afternoon. They were both very professional, knowledgeable and overall nice guys to deal with. It was a great price for a job well done. Contact these guys if you need a good contractor.

Griff quoted me an excellent price, but informed me he couldn't work on the parts involving the flat roof over our sun room. I would have had to hire a second contractor to do that part of the job, so I decided to just get one guy who was able to handle the whole job. But Griff was very professional and punctual and I was comfortable talking to him. I would have liked to have hired him if had been willing to tackle the hole job, and I will contact him if I find myself in need of his services in the future .

I am waiting to get hear back from the insurance adjuster for them to made a decision, again, I hope they pick Griff!

First, let me say that Al and all his employees were very friendly and respectful. I never felt it unsafe to leave them alone in my home. I personally like Al a lot and I believe he is a good guy, but the work performed and the communication issues make me sad I have to write such a bad review. So many issues came from the lack of communication from the beginning and got worse from there. At one point he wouldn’t even answer when we asked a question. We were quoted two months prior to the start of the job. Al did respond whenever we had a question prior to the start when we were purchasing materials. The materials list we got was very basic and there was one piece we did not get correct. I ran to the store and got back within 20 minutes. Not sure why, but from this point on, there was no communication and an obvious distain for the job. There were design concerns that we should have been consulted about and we were not. I was at the home all but two days out of the two weeks it took to finish. Al’s guys usually came around 8:30am and never worked past 4pm. The tile took 4 days since there were other jobs he sent his tile guy to finish before ours (usually left by 1:30pm). I wish I could post photos to let them speak for us instead, but here are just a few problems we ended up having. Some of the issues we had: · The outside frame of the window looks nothing like the others. It was a different size in trim and the top corner falls into the wall (uneven). The bottom opposite corner also falls into the wall as if it’s sinking. The caulking opened up after two days which I had to re-seal. · The shower head was moved up nearly two feet to 7’. No one in our house is taller than 5’ 5”. One more thing we will need to pay someone else to fix as neither of us can reach the showerhead. Al did not want to install the parts we purchased and said he does not like to “piece things together”. So the showerhead that came with the $145 kit we had to buy last minute is no good to us since we will need to get an extension in the meantime. · On the first day of demo, the plastic was put to cover the hall way opening, which left the two bedrooms open to dust and dirt. Towels should have been put to block the bottom openings or plastic put up in the bathroom doorway. Half my family got sick from the air quality that week. · The old faucet was left leaking one night. I put a bucket underneath and the next morning it was filled over and soaked the fresh plywood. · The vanity was cut through the back since the plumbing was moved too close to the side wall. This could have easily been prevented by looking at the vanity we bought and measuring first. · The pocket door still does not align straight with the wall. The plywood laid for the floor was not level and the pocket door had to be cut for the tile to be laid. When I called to tell him his tile guy could not finish, he acted as if it was · The light switch and the exhaust fan are on two different switches, but the switches run opposite. When they are both off, they are in opposite directions. Maybe this is how it’s supposed to be? · The paint and chemicals were washed out in our plants right next to our front door and also in the yard. If they would have asked, I would have gladly pointed them to a place they could clean that would not have left giant white stains on my now dead plants. I think this may be a contractor thing as the previous one did the same thing. · The tub was not properly installed. Al warned me the caulk would crack because I got “the wrong tub”, but a piece of wood should have been attached to the floor before installing so the side would not move. You can bump into the outside side of the tub and there is a two inch gap. The tile was pushed up against it so it bows. Cheap, yes. Quality craftsmanship, missing. I guess we got what we paid for.

He was super! He was really just so amazing, and he went above and beyond. He was astounding. He really saved my bacon, because he was able to come back out for another job after one company cancelled on us. He even rearranged his schedule and took out other plumbing problems.

The work they performed was done well. But we only used half of our hours and after several left messages they never responded to schedule requested work.

It went great, and I can't say enough good things about Al's service. His business card says he's a "Proud Perfectionist", and it's true. Not only did he do everything we contracted for, but made a couple of small fixes that were not in our contract .Will absolutely use his services again in the future. Almost didn't write this review because I'm afraid others will catch on and he'll be so busy I won't be able to get him again.

Due to a plumbing/flooding issue, my house in FL was in major disarray for 6 weeks. The plumbing was complete ? but that was all. So, I was pretty desperate to have the house back together. I had received a bid from another contractor that seemed very high. Al had great references on Angie?s List, so I left him a message. Al called me back that evening, saw my house the next day, and quickly submitted a reasonable proposal. He (somehow) managed to squeeze me in, and he completed the job within 4 days! Handling this major renovation was even more difficult as I live out of state. So, I had to look for products (vanity, tiles, etc) that were located in CT (I wanted to see the products in person), and available in St. Pete. I was hoping to keep to one store ? but that didn?t happen. Al made multiple trips to both Home Depot and Lowes. As he said, ?It?s no problem, they?re just across the street from each other.? Al even pulled a paint chip from the bedroom wall and picked up matching paint at HD, so I could keep the same color in the bedroom. Al had a ?game plan? on day one. And he gave me updates each evening with the progress and next steps. The best news ? my house looks fantastic. The bathroom was the original - house was built in the 70?s. It is beautifully tiled, with textured walls and new tub, toilet, vanity, lights. It looks better than I had thought possible!! I could not be happier!! The only bad news . . . Al lives/works out of FL. I just wish he lived in CT, and could do work on my condo!

Al replied quickly to my phone calls, was on time for scheduled estimate as well as the day of the job. Al was professional and courteous. He cleaned up after himself and did a fantastic job. i would highly recommend him.

Mr Griffin quickly responded to my contacting him via email. He called me to set up a meeting to come evaluate the job. The next day he phoned with his price that we agreed on. He advised me he would be able to do the work within a week or so. As promised he called me and set the day he would do the job. He and his helper came at about 8:30 AM, set up for doing the work, and got right at it. By noon the job was finished. I am more than pleased with the work done and would use Griff's service again. Happily would recommend him to others.

As out of state owners it is always hard to find someone to do work on our condo. Especially on a moments notice. Angie's list has been a godsend. Al Griffin responded to my call even though the message did not go through. Within minutes he understood our needs and assured us he could get the job done. We will follow up with another review when the shower door is done.

I tried replacing one of my exterior doors myself but the project was an epic fail. I called Griff's Contracting on a friend's recommendation. Al called me back right away and stopped by the house to check out the door. He recommended a prehung door which requires removing all of the old framing and installing the door with frame. He gave me a very fair price for the installation and answered all of my questions. He provided me a list of all the materials and sizes that I would need to buy at the home improvement store. I bought everything and left them at Will Call for him to pick up the morning of the job. He showed up on time and was very professional. The quality of the work was outstanding. The door and trim were installed perfectly. I definitely plan to use Griff's Contracting in the future.

Contractor never showed. Called after waiting for half an hour. Got voicemail, and call was never returned.

They were on time and actually early. They pay very close attention to detail. The owner checked everything to make sure it was up to standards. They cleaned up behind themselves. They worked very efficiently. First class job. I have no complaints at all. I have actually recommended them to a couple of people.

He removed all the old framing which has been there for at least 40 years and installed the new doors. He was prompt, very professional, quite knowledgeable and courteous. He removed all debris and completely cleaned everything up and left my house the way he found it. He had a helper and he was professional enough to recheck the helpers work to ensure quality. I have been looking for another special from him because I want to use his services again.

I didn't really feel the provider was all that interested in scheduling an acceptable date to start or end my project. He asked me to call him after I had done a few of the other projects and his schedule should be more flexible. It was not flexible in August or September, October, November or December. He has a very busy work load until after the first of the year and has agreed that I should obtain a refund if I needed my project completed before then. He was never rude on the phone or by e-mail and I have been patient trying not to expect him to drop what he is doing just to please my time frame, but I have to move on now and would appreciate your help in obtaining this refund in order to fund it. Thank you for the long list of positive experiences I've had with your providers up till now. You may have noticed that I have utilized my membership quite frequently in the past and will continue to do so in the future if we can get past this. Sincerely, P. B.

Al and his sub contractors were on time and would call me if they were going to be more than a half hour behind. I had to purchase all materials so I could get exactly what I wanted. I would have appreciated a little more guidance but I do understand that Al wanted for me to have only what I wanted. This experience was as pain free as is possible and I will certainly call on Al again
