GREG'S HOME IMPROVEMENT

Description of Work: They took out a ceiling light in the kitchen (which was pretty dated) and that had 3 florescent lights. It had a metal-type frame around the ceiling box that had hard plastic inserts for light covers. The ceiling box already had electric and wallboard in it. They removed the florescent lighting and outside casing, etc. They changed the electrical to accommodate strip lighting and I told them to put a wooden strip up inside the box and another around the outside of the box. They cut the pieces, I varnished them to match the kitchen wood already in the kitchen and they installed the pieces and refinished the wallboard ceiling box. I had to have them redo a few spots on the ceiling because you could see the patches. They redid them and it looks fine. They also installed a stove hood and put it in wrong which I had them redo. They checked my hinges in the kitchen cupboards and fixed one which was really bad. They also fixed a hinge on a door to the laundry room. The stove hood is still very loud and I am calling the maker to see if it is the hood or the installation today. All-in-all, I think they did an "okay" job but the delays in when they worked, their estimate of costs of items was underestimated, but when I requested they redo something because it was not satisfactory, they complied. I probably would use them again because they did fix what needed to be fixed except the stove vent which I am currently checking on.

Description of Work: Repaired/replaced hinge on outdoor gate. I was in a time crunch because the hinge broke just a few days before closing on the sale of the house. I'm sure the closing would have been delayed if I could not have had it repaired before closing. He was able to schedule my repair in a timely manner. I was also impressed that he brought with him a replacement hinge so he didn't have to go to the hardware store before he fixed it which saved both time and money. He was knowledgeable, efficient and cleaned up after himself.

Description of Work: After an initial conversation about my project, he said he'd contact the tenant and have a look, but I never received a call back or an email saying he'd gone or not gone or was or wasn't interested. Bad business practice.

Description of Work: Greg has helped me on two occasions with one of my rentals. I have appreciated that he took care of repairs promptly and was punctual, professional and his price was fair.

Description of Work: He came out to give an estimate and though it wasn't a huge job, we had a number of other things that we needed done depending on price and quality of work. While here he seemed somewhat disinterested, but wrote down everything and said he would get back with an estimate. We didn't hear from him again.
