Duncan Roofs

They are a great company and we have used them a few times. They did great work! On our real home that we lived at for 38 years, they replaced our roof twice and once on our new home. They are good, reliable and everyone is very courteous. They are a generational business and it's someone you can really rely on!

Maybe I was just unlucky! Some people that recommend them thought they were great. They are very quick, too quick, 15-20 people put the roof on and they completed it in about 7 hours. The job looked real nice until the rain came. I had a leak in the family room. They came back no less than and quot;10and quot; times to repair it. They finally replaced about 30 shingles two years later. Now the shingles don't match (made 2 years later) and you can see the difference. I asked for some extra shingles right after the job and I never received them. At least they fixed my major leak! Now I only have a small leak when a strong wind and rain come. Be wary!!

We got 3 quotes for the complete roof replacement after our insurance company forced us to replace the functional roof. Duncan's estimate was the middle for price and they had a good reputation according to Angies List. Once the replacement was scheduled we picked the color we wanted and the roof was replaced in 2 days. We have found a few nails in the yard since the replacement, but no tires have been damaged not has anyone stepped on one. We are happy with the results.

They were very good. They were punctual. They were here when they said they would be here. They cleaned it up immaculately.

We have had a flat roof and the shingle main roof redone in 2001. We originally payed $6252.00 to remove cement tile and perform replacement of roofs. They used high quality materials and provide a good warranty. They also work quickly so your roof isn't exposed to the elements for days. We had some trouble with the flat roof in Feb. 2011 so they came out to fix it free. Great company that was recommended to me years ago before Angie's List.

They provided poor quality of work. It was of poor supervision. The end quality was not desirable. He provided me with a letter that stated he even realized the roof was not of desirable quality and that he would still honor the warranty.

They did an expeditious job that was not in any way short changed. They were professional. They cleaned up after themselves. The estimate came in in the middle of the pact. They were not most expensive or cheapest, but they were by far the most professional.

They completed the job in one day as promised.

Our front porch roof was leaking. The roof continued to leak after the first time, but they came back and did a better job. The second time around they really made it right. They did a great job. I would recommend them and use them again. The roof is not leaking anymore.

From our first meeting to our last, Duncan Roofing was highly professional. I had other estimates before choosing Duncan, and except for Duncan I felt like the salesmen were out-of-work used car salesmen. Mr. Duncan himself came to the house and gave us the estimate. He sent a workman over the day prior to the estimate and the nice man rang our bell to tell us he needed to measure our roof. He learned the business from his father, and knows what he's talking about. Mr. Duncan is an honest man. Day One of the replacement arrived and as planned about 15-20 men arrived in a truck, with a foreman, and Mr. Duncan too. The men immediately got to work covering my driveway with plywood for protection, and covering or moving anything near the house that might get damaged. They even wet down the covering to lessen dust. We went to work and returned home to a spotless yard and outside of the house, the only difference being my previous roof was gone and a layer of double sticky thick protective sheeting had been applied. Day Two was alot like Day One, except when we returned from work we had a new roof on our home. All the details were perfect. They had done an excellent job, with minimal interruption to our schedule and no interruption to the beauty of our home. 5 STARS to you and your team, Dr. Duncan. Duncan Roof was contracted to replace the flat roof over our porch which is apx 800 sq feet. Their sales representative presented us with a proposal for replacement of the roof. The salesman stated that I did not need a tapered system as we had no "ponding" or water on our roof. Their proposal was for $9206 plus some small add ons. The saleman assured me that their company would remove and reinstall our new gutters and facia if that was necessary. He also assured me that the work area would be meticulously clean when they left. We talked about the solar pipes in that area and he assured me that if they needed to be moved they would be put back in place properly. None of this actually happened. The roof now has ponding (standing water) after it rains. We paid an additional $4200 for a tapering system and we still have standing water on the roof. The gutters and facia were ripped off and taken to the dump. Mr Duncan agreed to replace them and then changed his mind five weeks later. I paid another company $770 to replace them. Our ceiling in the porch collapsed due to rain the night they started the roof work. The work crew attempted to cover the roof with visquine which was totally inadequate. Mr Duncan replaced the ceiling but refused to paint it. We spent an addtional $127 to have a painter finish that part of the the repairs. Our solar pipes on the roof were still leaking long after Duncan "finished". They were cut in 6 places. Mr Duncan's crew did an inadequate repair. The crew tore our porch screen. Their repair of that lasted 2 weeks and blew out during the first storm. We collected a 30 gallon garbage bag full of roofing materials from our yard including at least 2 dozen roofing nails. My wife stepped on one in the yard and had to go to the emergency clinic. There is roofing tar on our pool deck and our pool equipment. The entire process took over 2 months from the start of the work. Mr Duncan kept promising work that he did not deliver. He did not return many of our phone calls. We paid Duncan roofing $14,249.69 upon receipt of the bill. Mr Duncan had made veiled threats of putting a lein on our home. In summary, this has been the most frustrating contracting experience of our entire lives.

It's very possible that Duncan Roofs performs quality work at a fair price - in fact this was the case about 10 years ago for a family member of mine. However I saw nothing in their initial approach to doing business that gives me any confidence in their work. I made an appointment to have an estimate done at 10am, 8 days from now. Much to my surprise, at 7:59 this morning I found a 19-year-old kid, working by himself, dressed slightly less professionally than your typical pizza-delivery person, driving a tiny pickup truck with "Duncan Roofs" logo. Both truck and logo slightly less professional-looking than your typical pizza-delivery outfit. Above-described kid rings my doorbell then pulls out a lightweight extension ladder and sets it against the side of my [large, comfortable] house. I told him to leave and not come back. I received a courteous and professional call from the owner of the company. He explained his way of doing business. He is fine with his way of doing business. I am not fine with his way of doing business. You should ask for a clear description of services IF you are considering their services.

They are impeccable in their cleanliness and their delivery. They are reliable, and they are exact in what they do. They stand behind it. We had one problem, and they corrected it immediately a year later. They have pride in their work.

They are professional. They are very nice. When they finish the work, you can pretty well consider it done. You don't have to call them back.

Everything went really great. They had a lot of guys on the crew, and had everything done in about four hours and they also cleaned up very well after themselves. I can't say anything but good things about them.

They finished the job, (in one day) but I had damage to my brand new custom rain gutters as well as all the custom leaf guard I had installed over them. Also, my solar roof panals that they contracted to take down and re-install also where put back up in a shoddy manner and leaking for over almost two weeks before I was able to get them to come back and correct these issues after three attempts. I was unable to use or filter my pool all during this time, finally i was able to pay them in full after they fixed all these items, however I was never satisfied with the repair jobs on the two above issues and I had to call out the two professional companies which installed the solar, and the gutters to correct the damage that was done to them at my own expense of several hundred dollars. I was just happy to get them out of my life at this point. i still have county permit issues with the hip and ridge caps that is an ongoing issue, as well as over 30 other homes the county has with this Co.

Our 1940's home had several leaks in different rooms. We used Angie's list and received quotes from Blue Ribbon, Rick the Roofer, B. Griffith and Duncan. ALL were extremely responsive and prepared competitive quotes within a day or two. It was a difficult decision. In the end we went with Duncan for several reasons - some tangible others intangible: a letter to all the neighbors stating work would be done, no deposit or money due until after the job was complete and they sent out an inspector, they started and finished the the job in 1 day (house and separate garage)started at 7 am and done by 4:30, we had seen them in the neighborhood before so they had historic home experience, posted City permit info, lien info/quote/paperwork neatly prepared and excellent warranty that goes with the life of the house (even if we sell it). Excellent clean up - did not find one roof nail.

After 9 months of waiting, the tile finally arrived and was installed in April, 2006. Throughout the entire process, I tried to remain calm and polite. Once the tile was installed, I was very happy to be finished dealing with the vendor.

They did a good job, and it was done in a day. This is just an all around good company

THEY SHOWED UP WITH 15 + WORKERS THEY ALL SHOWED UP ON TIME AND WORKED VERY HARD. I WAS SURPRISED HOW THEY WORKED TOGETHER SO WELL. THEY WERE SO EFFICIENT, THEY GOT THE JOB DONE IN ONE DAY.

CONTRACT WAS SIGNED 2/05 WITH UNDERSTANDING THAT WORK WOULD NOT BEGIN FOR 15 TO 16 WEEKS LATER WHICH WAS AGREED TO. ROOF WAS TO BE REPLACED ON 7/1 WHILE I WAS OUT OF TOWN ON BUSINESS. EXPECTING TO HAVE A 'NEW' ROOF WHEN I RETURNED IT WAS A SURPRISE TO ARRIVE HOME TO A TAR AND ASPHALT ROOF WITH NO TILE OR RIDGE VENT. I WAS INFORMED THE TILE WAS NOT IN STOCK AND SHOULD BE AVAILABLE BY THE END OF MONTH. THREE MONTHS LATER, STILL NO TILE AND NOW INFORMED IT WOULD BE 2006 BEFORE AVAILABLE. IN THE MEAN TIME TRYING TO REFINANCE MORTGAGE AND HAVING PROBLEMS DUE TO ROOF NOT BEING COMPLETED. THE EXCUSES GIVEN HAVE BEEN LEGITIMATE (HURRICANES, CHINA PROJECT) BUT WHEN IS ENOUGH, ENOUGH? IT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING TO COME HOME EACH NIGHT TO A GRAY and BLACK ASPHALT AND TAR ROOF WHILE NEIGHBORS ARE GETTING SHINGLE ROOFS REPLACED IN A DAY.

WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE WORK. THEY ARE A LITTLE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN SOME OTHER BIDS WE HAD, BUT WE ARE SO GLAD WE WENT WITH THEM BECAUSE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR; AND, WE PAID FOR QUALITY. AMAZINGLY, THEY COMPLETED THE JOB IN ONE DAY. ALSO, THEY ARE GOOD TO THEIR WARRANTY. I MUST ADD THAT THEY DID THE WORK IN 2003, BUT WE HAD A SMALL LEAK IN MID-2005 AND THEY FIXED IT.
