Ductz of Tampa Bay

We were concerned with the air quality in our home, the house had a musty odor (and I have asthma). We chose this contractor based on the reviews we saw on Angie's List. Cleve came and climbed up into the sweltering attic, took pictures of the ducts and air handler. The pictures definitely showed evidence of a lot of dirt and bacterial growth. Cleve explained the cleaning process in detail and provided a rough estimate. A couple of days later we received an email with all of the pictures attached, plus a final quote (we had several options). We chose to clean and coat all of the ducts (ours are fiberglass). The crew came on time, took special care to make sure no dirt dropped onto our floors or furniture, were very careful regarding our very skittish cat, and provided us with pictures of the cleaned and treated ducts after they were finished. They did an excellent job. The only criticism at all was that I would have liked a few more pictures of the "after cleaning", especially around the air handler itself. Overall, highly recommended.

EXCELLENT!! The gentleman was on time, professional and polite. He went up in our attic to check the condition of our air ducts and also checked inside our air handler in the garage. He took pictures of the inside of the ductwork in the attic and showed us the condition of the ducts. He told us that the ducts were fine and did not need cleaning. This is the most honest company that we have ever dealt with... we would definitely recommend them and will use them in the future if we ever need our ducts cleaned.

We were very pleased with Ductz of Tampa Bay. They were very accommodating, scheduling an appointment at a convenient time for us. The technician (Tim) was right on time, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. He cleaned our dryer vent from both inside our condo and on the roof and he even went up in the attic because he noticed that it did not seem to be venting well. He found that the hose had been disconnected from the roof vent and reconnected it. They charged exactly what we were quoted. We would definitely hire them again.

As noted above, Cleve did a thorough evaluation of our system and found no additional cleaning would be required.

I had them clean my dryer vent about 6 months ago and at that time I got a quote for cleaning the whole duct system due to mildew growth on my AC air vents and heavy dust in my house. I recently called and scheduled the extensive cleaning above after getting my tax return. They honored the prior quote price plus gave me an angies list discount. Chris and Bob called ahead and arrived as scheduled and worked about 7-8 hours performing the above task. They did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. Chris also gave a tip on what was probably causing my problem (running air handler without having AC or Heat on was circlating and trapping moist air in my system). I'm very pleased with the results so far and am hoping this will help with our sinus allergy problems. My home is 18 years old and I was quite amazed at how much junk built up in the duct system. Great job Ductz!

Cleve arrived the next afternoon. After inspecting the A/C and furnace indicated that there was nothing to clean. He showed us a time dated photo he had just taken of the fan area. He saw no signs of other problems like mold or mildew (though I wasn't concerned about that kind of issue). Bottom line, he said he couldn't charge us to do something that wasn't necessary. Although we think we'd had some heavy duty cleaning after all the renovations, it seems like we'll just have to keep changing air filters frequently and wait for the rest of the ultra fine particles to settle out.

I called and scheduled an appointment. They gave the option of a 4:30pm appt, I said that was too late. I made an appt at 1:00pm the next day. They did not show up and did not call. I called at 4:00pm that day. They told me that would come between 4:30 and 5:00 that day because they were running late. No one showed up, so I called after 5:00pm and left a voice mail. Shortly after I left the message, some one called and asked if I wanted to reschedule. I told him I would think about it. I tried three times the following week and I got a recording that said no one was available to take my call.

First step in the process was a meeting with Ductz estimator, Cleve Bothwell. He made the initial assessment of the system. He removed the access panel of the air handler and took a digital photo of the squirrel cage blower (which showed 15 years of soot-like dirt). He also climbed into the overhead and observed the ducting, part of which was assembled with Micro Duct which had a fiberglass lining. I was told at that point that it was not feasible to clean that type ducting with their high speed rotating equipment due to deterioration of the fiberglass lining. Those sections were to be replaced with plastic Flex Duct and a new supply plenum. My return ductwork was all metal and could be cleaned. Cleve made measurements and took photos of the duct system. All the information he acquired was turned over to and discussed with Jim Flannery, their general manager. Jim was also responsible for the new ductwork design and installation and cleaning of the retained ducts. Their effort to this point resulted in a detailed proposal for the work to be accomplished. One week after acceptance of the proposal, Jim and two assistants arrived promptly as scheduled at 9 AM and after 8 solid hours of labor by all three the job was finished. Each one had specific tasks. As each phase was accomplished I was told what was occurring. Before and after photos were made of all main components that were cleaned. These were shown to me at the time and later transmitted by e-mail. Several are included with this report. During the work inside, drop cloths were put down under the vents where they gained access to the ducting for cleaning. When the cleaning and new assembly was all completed, the system was turned on and thoroughly tested. Jim took air temp samplings at various ducts and checked to verify the fast heat system was operating OK. In the meantime a check was made in all rooms to make sure no debris was left to eject from the vents. All their equipment and drop cloths were removed and the areas around the vents were vacuumed. After they left it was hard to tell anyone had been there. Only one reminder: The system now works like it did about 15 years ago. The fast heat which I had not used in the last couple of years because of the possibility of fire just got a good workout during the longest consistent cold spell I can remember in Florida.

They charged me $10 less than another company that I had been using. I was not happy with the company I had been previously using. They were professional.

They did a good job. Actually I had them do a drier than cleaning which wasn?t that great. The guy climbed up attic and did the part of my duct there. Then I had them do the air conditioning ducts. They did a really nice job on that.

This company is AWESOME! I have never had a long dryer duct/vent (about 23 feet) before and therefore had no idea that I needed to clean them occasionally. My 4-year old high efficiency dryer heat switch burnt out due to the plugged vents and was expensive to fix. The dryer repairman said I needed to call someone to clear out the ducts as he suspected they were completely clogged. I called Ductz YESTERDAY afternoon, they scheduled the visit for 3:30 today. When I called for service, I had no idea that there was an Angie's List discount. She gave me the discount without me even mentioning it. The serviceman called and said they were running "early" and asked if that was OK. Fine with me. Once they started, they showed me where the ducts were clogged and I was not surprised that NO AIR could have gotten through. They cleaned the ducts from end to end and replaced the flexible hose that runs from the dryer to the ductwork. Most of the duct cleaning was done from the outside of the house. These guys cleaned up a HUGELY clogged dryer vent system and left NO MESS. They were very pleasant and professional. I am now on their mailing list for an annual reminder! Woo-hoo!

Professional, courteous, and sincerely concerned about the findings. They explained how and why the system was performing poorly, and the efficiency we could expect with the solution proposed. And they were right! After cleaning the AC ducts, handler, we noticed an extreme difference in cooling and air flow. Nice to have such a positive experience, with folks who know what they are doing and not proposing services we didnt need.

I liked how thorough the initial inspection was. I was very happy with them. The mold problem has subsided. We were all getting very sick, so it's nice to have things back to normal.

Real well. Cleve assessed the house and gave an estimate accompanied by pictures, and then was very helpful with answering questions about the quote and what the process would be for the cleaning. Their cleaning team came out (showed up early which is nice) and went right to work. They finished a little ahead of schedule and after inspecting a couple of the duct repairs, everything looked great. The smell that was in our system appears to be gone.

They did honor an Angie's List discount coupon. They were prompt and he also showed me the work that he did. Opened up one of the vents to show me it had been cleaned.

The company came out on the date and time scheduled and cleaned the vent. They also gave an estimate for the cost of replacing the original construction vinyl vent. The price was very reasonable and they returned two days later at the time specified and replaced the vinyl venting with metal venting. They also removed a screen over the roof vent that was placed there by the roofers when the roof was replaced about five years ago. All work was accomplished as specified, at the time and date specified, and at the price agreed. All work was professionally done and the dryer is now operating at peak efficiency as it hasn't done in years. We were highly satisfied with their work and would recommend them to anyone.

We were told by an insulation company that before they could insulate crawl space we needed to have ducts wrapped and replaced. We called Ductz to do the work. It was a very hot day when the work was done, but the tech crawled around in the attic until the job was completed.

All went well and my dryer dries much faster.

We called Ductz of Tampa Bay because of the odor coming from our A/C. When we turned the heat or air on, there was an initial moldy smell or "dirty sock" smell that would dissipate after a few minutes. Cleeve arrived and talked with us about what we were experiencing. He then went up into the attic to check it out. When he finished, he sat down with us and explained that we have a top-of-the-line A/C unit and that there didn't seem to be an answer as to why we were experiencing this odor. Cleeve was very professional and personable and we appreciated his honesty. It's still a mystery as to the odor, but if we need any service on our A/C in the future, we will definitely call Ductz.

David and Geno showed up on time and did a great job. They laid drop clothes down and was very careful not to damage anything inside the house. They cleaned up after themselves when the work was completed. Considering the A/C was up in the attic and they had to bring everything through the access in the ceiling, the lack of any damage was impressive. They kept me informed every step of the way of what they were doing and why. Very happy with the results, the air flow to the rooms is stronger and odor free. When the need arises, I will use them again with no reservations.

Very good. Cleve honestly said that the problem was not an issue and that due to the age of the house the ducts could not be that dirty. Others would have charged, just gave an estimate for the cleaning or even recommended a full diagnostic of the system. We'll definitely call DUCTZ when we do need a duct cleaning or any other a/c - heater service.
