Clear Tech Pools

Contracted them for weekly pool maintenance while I was working overseas. A guy came once and the pool turned green a couple of days later. My wife called to complain and the guy came again. He left the backwash hose lying out in the grass and the pool screen door wide open. A child could have wandered into the pool area and drowned. Would that be considered criminal negilence? The pool stayed green. We cancelled the service and they sent me a bill for the "service". When I objected to this by phone (international call) the person I spoke with was arrogant and unresponsive.

My pool pump failed a few days before the fourth of July and the pool started to turn green which would have impacted our pool party plans! I called in a service request and the Clear Tech had a repair man out there promptly. Although the pump was two months out of warranty, Ryan of Clear Tech insisted that there be no charges for the repair since it had just come out of warranty and it should not have failed. Luckily they able to repair the pump rather than me having to replace it! It was great to see that Clear Tech stands behind their products and services and did the right thing.

This was my first time using this company. I called and explained what I needed and the guy quoted me $125 and said someone would call me back and schedule. 3 days later (longer than expected) I got a call from a tech asking if i was home and could he come out now. He said he would be right over and 2 hours later arrived at my house. He was nice enough and knocked on the door to let me know he was there. He was at my house for about 20 min working and he called to let me know he need to replace all the inserts inside the filter. I said how much and he said $280 + service call. I asked him why we would replace all of them when in the past we only replaced damaged ones and he stated that as soon as hey replaces one, there is usually another bad one and they end up back out. I personally have never had that problem before so i asked how much to replace only the broken ones and he said $30 each but didn't have any with him. I argued that i didn't want to pay another service call and he said there wouldn't be. Then he told me he would have to put a disclaimer on my account that he offered to replace all but i refused for next time. I said i didn't think there would be a next time (because they are expensive and also pushy) and he told me basically he was going to put the filter back together (without cleaning) and leave. I said fine. Super unprofessional and honestly not someone i want back. I do see them around a lot in the area so i am assuming people like them but they are not for me. If a tech can't handle that i question a charge without pouting then he doesn't need my business.

My heater stopped working during the week between christmas and new years while we had friends and family in town. Noone else was able to send out a tech on short notice during the holidays to get the heater working but Clear Tech did and thanks to them we were able to enjoy the holidays. Thank you for caring and taking care of us!

great did everything as requested on time

Had them perform a leak test as our pool was needing water every other day. Came out, swam around and told us we would need to re-grout the whole pool (about $1,500) but they said they did enough work to temporarily halt the leakage. It did not. Hired the Leak Wizards 3 weeks later who found the same leak but did not tell us we had to re-grout the pool. Have been with them for over 5 years. Weekly Cleaning Service is horrible. One tech took our pool net and didn't return it for a month. Our vacuum just sits in the deep end of our pool and doesn't do anything. Was told we needed an 'O' ring replacement and it took over 2 months to replace it and vacuum still sits in the deep end and does nothing. Communication via the door tag is not good. When I called to say I wanted to cancel, they brought up charges from over a month ago and wanted to still charge me. Did not seem to care we were unhappy with the service or asked what they could do to retain us after 5+ years. Sayonara.

We have received complaints from the residents that there are leaves in the pool. There is also residual dirt left on the pool deck.

It went great. I have been using them for about 5 years, and always get great service.

Randy came out around March 1st to give me an estimate for pool resurfacing, add pavers to pool deck and convert to salt water system. Price seemed aligned with other companies. I stopped in at their office March 9th to pick out pavers and tile. Randy told me at that time it would be a month until start date. That sounded great to me so I signed the contract that week and gave a 10% deposit.. We REALLY wanted our pool started in a month. Around April 18 I started calling Joe to ask about a start date. Joe said Randy shouldn't have told me a month, that they were really busy. Randy has been with the company 18 years. Didn't he know it wouldn't be a month??? Wish I would have known it was going to be longer than 2 months when I first went in the office in early March. I've been calling Joe every Monday or Tuesday and he always tells me 10 days to 2 weeks to start. On Tuesday May 17 Joe said he would call me next day at 10, but haven't heard from him. They have $1,400. of my money and I have nothing to show for it. No start date. We wanted to get our pool and deck done before swim season. I'm really tired of calling Joe. If Joe is too busy maybe they should hire more to help him or have someone else keep customers in the loop about whats going on. I know the weather and such plays a factor. I don't expect an exact start date because I understand things happen at job sites and work gets delayed. Update: Doug called me, and was concerned with the service I was receiving. We came to a mutual agreement to start the pool project in June. I will update further when it is done.

When I talked to Joe, he said that most likely Randy would take a look at our generator. We arranged for Tuesday evening which came and went with no word from either of them. Neither of them has had the courtesy to contact me.

They seem unable to ever adequately repair the pump they sold me, as they always require far too much time and expense to get the job done. They asked for four hours and $250 just to replace and lubricate an o-ring. They also seem to have recently developed an "attitude" with their customer service, as they reduced their hours and also put up a sign indicating that they would no longer honor any of their coupons. I also had an issue with a service completed back in May where I paid with a check at the time of service (since they demand it), and was later contacted by their accounting department about how I owed them money. They were very rude in how I was addressed, and when it was mentioned, I was told they "probably didn't charge (me) enough anyway". I will still purchase my cholorine from them, but I don't trust them to do anything else.

Very well - Contractor set an met expectations well

The service went fine. It was a simple fix, and everything is good. They were on time and professional.

Had some issues originally with the filter never being back washed. Also my chlorine container was broken and just left int he pool. The chlorine tablet was just dropped tot eh bottom f my fiber glassed pool. Have a new tech now and things seem better. Receive weekly pool service. Does not offer a discount for Angie 's list memebers

The pool was in excellent condition when we returned.

They are prompt, efficient and pleasant. When contacting them initially over the phone, the reception was friendly and informative. They even come out initially to go over all the pool equipment with my husband as they had installed the system when the home was built a few years ago. We have been very please with the services and would recommend them to anyone.

We buy our pool supplies from Clear Tech's retail outlet and we have had the skimmer replaced by Clear Tech in the past with great satisfaction. So when our pool surface started to look funny this summer we called them to see if we needed a major cleaning, a paint job, or a whole new surface. Randy came out the day we called. He was very professional and very knowledgeable. He said we did need a new surface (which is what we had really suspected). He said they could do it with or without re-tiling the rim and he said that we didn't really need a new pool deck. His honesty about this saved us a lot of money. He measured the rim and emailed us a proposal the next day showing the pricing with various options depending on re-tiling or not, etc. We did decide to have new tile and we were able to buy a tile we liked from another source and Clear Tech installed it. Each part of the project was completed on time by people who were clearly very skilled and who were a pleasure to have on our property. In addition, someone from Clear Tech management came to inspect the job after each segment was completed. Randy was readily available by phone, email, and showroom visits throughout the process and he came out at the end of the project to be sure everything was right and we were satisfied. Which we are, completely!

This summer, we had our 1970 pool remodeled by Clear Tech Pools, St. Petersburg, Fl, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Clear Tech removed all of the old surface, and tile and replaced them with a sparkling new surface that reflects pieces of abalone shell and Caribbean-blue colors. The tiles are a gorgeous matrix of blue glass that shimmer like jewels. At the bottom is the grand showpiece of a beautiful mermaid and dolphin mosaic. In addition, Clear Tech also installed a new pump, a salt water system, and a new color-themed light, and they finished all of the above in ten days. Yeah! Randy, the manager of our job, kept us up to date and made us feel at ease with the process. Now when my husband and I return from work, it’s as though we come home to a vacation spa! We had a little bump along the way, but Doug with ClearTech ensured that all was taken care of and my resurfacing is exactly what I hoped for. They are definitely the best at keeping my pool sparkling clean. I have tried two other companies and the difference is visible!

Clear Tech has been my long term service company for my pools and have actually built two pools for me. They are extremely responsive and helpful. Their availability and willingness to put the customer first and respond in a timely, professional manner are so impressive that I do not hesitate in the slightest to give them the highest ranking possible! All of that and yet they still have some of the most competitive rates on product AND service in the area! I moved into my house in June 2013. I cancelled the weekly cleaning due to not proper cleaning. That is when I noticed the stain on the bottom of the pool as if someone poured something in and it rolled to the main drain. Some one came out to check the stain but the water was too cloudy to see it. I was told they would send someone out to clarify the water so they could determine what needed to be done and they would also contact the manufacturer. I asked for them to leave a note if they had been here but never knew if someone was here or not. Someone was supposed to come out to tell me what the manufacturer recommended to fix the stain problem but I never heard from anyone at Clear-Tech. I have never used a business with such poor customer service,ever. I hope I am able to swim in my pool this summer, stain or not.

Came out in December for previous owner, said there was no leak. Came back in May and patched pool and spillover from spa. Came out in early July, after I bought the property and continued to patch the pool and spillover. Pool continued to leak. Called in mid August to say the polo was still leaking, they said they would call back. Did not call back within 4 days. Called again, finally a technician called back 3 days later said the warranty for the leak did not transfer, even though they never fixed it. They wanted to charge for a new leak detection. I told them if they could not fix tithe first 3 times I was not going to pay them to do nothing again. Found another company.

It always goes well once the tech is at my home. With Clear Tech, the problem lies somewhere between the phone call to book the service and the actual arrival of the technician. This is the third experience I have had with being told a tech would arrive at my home on a certain day (so I take off work to be there) and they no show. When I call the office, they tell me that they see that the tech is scheduled for the following day. The worst part of all of this is that the guys in the retail store (South Pinellas Pool Supply) and the Techs themselves are helpful, friendly and professional. All I would ever ask is that if any appointment has to be rescheduled to another time that I be given a call so that I'm not wasting my time for nothing. Simple customer service....what a concept.

They promptly came out as scheduled and drained the pool. They removed the tile, installed the new tile and then resurfaced the pool. I'm not sure how long that should take, but the process was not lengthy. A few days due to some rain. The guys that did the work were nice and friendly. I did have a small issue with a tile edge being a little sharp. I called Brian and he got the tile guys out to fix the issue. All in all, everything was great. My only and quot;problemand quot; was that the guys washed their equipment in 3 places in the yard, so we had agrigate in the yard which hardened like the pool surface. That was a pain to clean up. I did not complain to Clear tech about that, but I am willing to bet that if I did, they would have come out and cleaned it. I would recommend Clear Tech Pools to others needing work done on their pool.

It took about a week. Make sure your pump is shut off properly when they drain it. Two A-rated companies did not respond, This one brought samples out and got right to it. We bought our chemicals at their Dunedin Causeway store.
