I will never use them again. Each year we tried to call them to come back out to service it. Either they would not show up for the appointment or something happened and we would always call somebody else. The people who actually put the unit in were good. The people who put the unit in are different than the techs who come out to check the unit. All the parts on my air conditioning unit have a 10-year warranty. The last time they came out they were telling me things needed to be replaced. By the time they got done I might as well have bought myself a brand new unit. It would have cost $6,000 or $7,000 and nothing was wrong with it. We had no issues with it -- nothing. So I found another company. I called ARS and yelled at them. Actually what they sent out was not a service tech, it was a salesman. The quality of the unit is fine and the date they set to put it in, they put it in. They did a good job on the installation and cleaned up. They are an average price.

Horrible service, paid $6000+ for a new unit and they promised us a new intake screen to replace the old one, 2 years of nagging them about the screen with nothing but "its custom order, should be here soon" still nothing. I gave them tons of chances to fix this, just get empty promises. Drip Pan overflows every year in august and they still cant fix this issue either. Drip pan leaks and has ruined our ceiling. AVOID ARS RESCUE AIR

The tune up service seemed promising and good on the ad shown in Angies list, but the service was poor. The technician just checked all the taps in the home and drained water heater by connecting a pipe, there was no attempt made to remove sediment. Technician kept saying that there is not much that would be done for 49$ , which was surprising that the actual value was much more. The service and professionalism was unsatisfactory. The following services mentioned in the ad were not made at all. DrainRight® Drain Maintainer treatment on all in-home drains Drain tank & remove sediment (if practical) Test temperature & pressure relief valve / system ? Inspect water lines & drain valve ? Remove and check anode rod condition ? Includes additional tune-up processes based on water heater type.

The initial service worked out great but I got a maintenance plan and ended up cancelling it because they kept wanting to replace the furnace. They kept calling because they had a problem with there system. The price was good.

I went to Home Depot to purchase some things. I saw the Carrier A/C display and I thought I would ask the gentleman standing there how much the Carrier A/C cost. He immediately said he would send a man to my house and I said I only stopped for some idea of prices. The nice elderly man told me that the person who came to my house would only stay 15 minutes tops and be gone, WRONG that is a TOTAL LIE. It is a way to get their (ARS ) salesman's proverbial foot in your door. The salesman was Don Connell and he starts his spiel as a down home local boy, etc. etc. and that is the soft sell. When he asks to sit down, BEWARE, roots will suddenly pop out of his body and you won't be able to get rid of him. I told him I was very tired, ( he didn't care ) , I told him I was exhausted ( he didn't care ). Long story short, he arrived at 10:30 AM and left my house at 2:45 PM. that is 3 hours and 15 minutes. Did he care if I was hungry at noon (no), the more I said I wasn't going to buy an A/C that day, the harder the sell became. After he left, he called me back three more times. The following day someone else from ARS called me. Don called me back on Monday and his boss called me today also. So, if you are ever in Home Depot and you have an old A/C and are wondering about prices, don't walk past that set-up RUN. I wasn't happy with some of the (ARS) reviews I saw on Angie's List. They don't seem very reliable when it comes to serving your A/C after you sign on the dotted line. Too high pressure and they just don't want to take NO for an answer.

Didn't get service guy name. Very p***** when found out using Angies List. He quoted $350 to replace water heater unit, $250 for kitchen hot/cold turn handle replacement & $150 for bathroom hot/cold handle replacement. Seriously, way overpriced! I was totally offended by his lack of professionalism and taking advantage of me being a woman with such ridiculous pricing. I will never use this ARS company again! Angie's list needs to check out their recommended companies in lieu of just signed them up.
Description of Work: He just cleaned out water heater sediment. Commented on water heater previous leaking in past and did a quick analysis of kitchen and bathroom plumbing.

Made an appointment last week for today. Called mid way through the appointment window to reschedule. When pressed, customer service rep said they were still servicing maintenance calls from July. Why schedule new customers if you can't keep up with your established base? Waste of my day.

Called at 11AM service tech (John P.) was at our house by 1:00. Quickly diagnosed problem as a plugged rain in the condensation pan which had caused system to shut down, Service tech flushed runoff drain and checked system inside & out for other potential problems which he discussed with me. System was up and running within an hour. Work was done quickly, professionally, and neatly. We will call ARS for our AC repair needs in the future.

2 weeks ago my AC went out. I called ARS to come fix the AC, they never showed up. I set up another appointment the still didn?t show. I?ve been waiting and waiting. The man finally came and went upstairs to the attic and told me I needed a bunch of new things. They said I would cost 8,000-15,000 to fix. I was going to have them come bring a new motor. I set an appointment and the didn?t show. 3 of the 4 times they were supposed to come they didn?t show. I called another company to fix the issue because ARS needed to order a new part but it would take a while to fix. I called a new company to fix it. The new company came over right away and said ARS tore apart my unit. The new company came in and fixed the whole system.

They were fine. We've used them for years and they are quite good. We will continue to use them. They were on time and they do an excellent job. They are quality house fit. It is an outstanding and reputable company, We have used them not a year but many years. They are a fair service; we get a discount for being seniors. They call before they come and they tell you who the service person is.

Dec 9th - installation went well and everything worked. Later that day I found 3 locking valve caps on the heat pump (the unit that sits outdoors) Dec 19th: City inspector came and inspected the installation work done by ARS on Dec 9. Failed due UV light not being installed correctly, the UV light sight glass not installed and the value caps from the heat pump were not installed. Made appt with ARS for technician to come and fix the issues that caused the inspection failure for jan 2 between 9-12am. No one came. Received a call from ARS around 1pm saying technician was in an accident. Rescheduled for Jan 12. Jan 12: no technician showed and received no call from ARS. I called ARS and appt was rescheduled for Jan 16 between 9-12am. Jan 16: no technician showed and I received no call from ARS. I called ARS and was informed that my appt was Jan 15 and not Jan 16. It was obvious that no technician had showed for that Jan 15 appt either because I was at home on Jan 15 and ARS had no record of a visit being made. I vented my frustrations with their scheduling and a technician was sent same day - Jan 16. Arrived around 2:30pm and supposedly made all the fixes to the UV light that failed the inspection. I gave him the locking valve caps I had found on Dec 9 and he installed them. I called ARS for them to reschedule a city inspection and got an appt for Jan 30. Jan 30: ARS techician showed and not the city inspector. ARS messed up the appt and sent the wrong person. Techician said he would review the work that the techician did on Jan 16 to ensure it was done correctly so I would pass inspection. When he learnt that the air handler was in the attic he asked who had done the fixes on Jan 16 said "oh, he does good work, so I don't need to check his work". I called ARS to schedule the inspection again making sure they clearly understood the appt was for inspection and not a technician. Scheduled inspection appt for Feb 6 between 8-12am. Feb 6: inspector showed. Failed inspection. UV light had a transformer installed that was against code. Inspector called ARS to explain the issue and no one was available to take his call who was technical. He left a message for the manager to call him. I have no idea if that took place. I called ARS to schedule an appt to have this UV light transformer issue fixed. Appt scheduled for Feb 13 between 8-1pm. Feb 12: the digital thermostat that controls the whole unit (air handler and heat pump) went blank. So now the unit does not work as I cannot turn it on. No clue why this occurred or what the issue is but I am totally frustrated at this point. Called ARS to let them know of this new issue and asked them to send an educated, efficient technician to my Feb 13 appt who can finally put all of this to bed so I can pass inspection and hopefully have no reoccurring issues. However, I fear that will not be the case as this did not start out well at all. I have asked for the manager to contact me on several occasions but no avail. I regard all of this as a premonition to what my future holds in regards to this unit and my relationship with ARS since I made the mistake in buying this unit from them.

I called the office a few days later to inquire why the condensation pipes were not cleaned regularly during the maintenance I have done with them 2x a year and whoever I spoke to was going to call me back, but never did. I also wondered why a senior discount could not be allowed on the remaining balance after you use a coupon and the tech did not know, which I also addressed during my call to the office. The person I spoke to was supposed to discuss both matters with a supervisor.
Description of Work: AC unit was not working. Condensation pipes were clogged. I assumed this was being taken care of during regular maintenance visits, but apparently not.

We were able to get scheduled quickly. He was excellent -- absolutely fantastic. We'd get a sewer smell occasionally through the house. Through his inspection, he found a pipe in the back of the house that wasn't fitted properly. He fixed a problem that we had for well over a year.

AUGUST 29, 2014: Air conditioning unit stopped working. Having used ARS one time in the past with very good results, I contacted them by phone at approximately 8:30pm and set up an appointment for a Technician to come out, (as per their Dispatcher, " between 09:00am and 2:00pm") on Saturday August 30, 2014. AUGUST 30, 2014: 0900-2:00pm: No technician nor any telephone calls from ARS between the 5-hour window they had provided. 2:08pm: I call ARS, ask for an update and am advised that the technicians are, " running a little behind but that I am next" to have a technician respond. 6:05 pm: After waiting four hours and no technician nor any telephone calls providing an update, I again call ARS. I express my concern that the appointment was scheduled yesterday and that we have now been waiting 9 hours for a technician nor has any ARS representatives called to give us an update. The young lady ("Lisa") advises that supposedly a technician was assigned and she would call him and make sure I got a call back. 8:15pm: Having waited an additional 2 hours with no ARS technician nor any phone calls as promised, I contact another company, "One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating" who have a technician at our home at 8:56pm and resolve the problem with the air conditioner by 10:30pm. SEPTEMBER 01, 2014 10:55am: I receive a telephone call from "Delilah" at ARS indicating that she sees from the board that we are still waiting for for our service call and would we like for her to send a technician now? I inform her that the situation has been resolved by one of their competitors since it has been approximately 2 ½ days since we asked for service. Delilah apologizes and states that the weekend was "pretty hectic". SUMMARY: Needless to say, I find the "customer service" and "professionalism" of ARS to be non-existent or seriously lacking at best. While I understand and can sympathize that things get hectic and technicians can be tied up longer than anticipated, I don't understand not keeping customers updated or informed. The only call from ARS was approximately 62 hours after requesting the service and I can't imagine this is to be considered appropriate customer service. Obviously, I have no intention of utilizing the services of ARS ever again and would highly recommend that anyone planning on using them - reconsider their decision. SEPTEMBER 16, 2014 UPDATE It has now been 13 days since ARS indicated in writing that, "one of our Customer Relations team members will be contacting you..." and I can confirm there has been no contact from ARS as stated. This failure to act once again appears to demonstrate how pervasive the lack of "customer service" and "professionalism" is throughout the ARS organization.

Don, Salesman, came to our home, met with us to discuss a quote. We found him through Home Depot where he was scheduling appointments. He wanted our business and we liked his approach. I felt he was honest and sincere and assured us he would be following up on the installation. He would check back with "Chris", the Installer and he would visit with us after the AC unit was installed. We agreed to buy from him and have ARS install the unit. We never saw him again. Not once, not ever! That was our first indication that red warning lights were coming. Second Issue... Chris and his assistant arrived to install the unit and they brought the wrong size pad with them. Their plan of work had to be re-structured. They had to work much longer than was necessary. Third Issue... The wrong filter system was installed, which was discovered by MY HUSBAND 2 days after the install. Fourth Issue... Promises and more promises to get someone out to fix it .... about a week later Fifth Issue...The Operations Manager, Rick Lester came out to "access" the problem and get someone out to put the correct filter system in. Sixth Issue.. One week later Man arrives with filters, but cannot install them...He does not have the training to put a component in place and there is a part missing. He leaves the box of filters in our garage and drives away. Seventh Issue...Appointment is made to get a trained filter installer out to the house....First appointment, they cancelled.. Rescheduled for friday of that same week. They cancelled again... I am so mad by now I am calling ARS and I end up talking to Brian who explains to me how sorry he is bottom line...We are ..Rescheduled for Tuesday of the next week!!! Eighth Issue...We call Rick Lester to get this mess straightened out.... We never see him. My husband talks to the customer service team because now we are worried about a lot of water condensation on the ground next to the unit and tons of water sitting under the new AC. My husband requests the original Installation Man and is informed that Chris cannot come back out, he has a family emergency. Which we learn an hour later is a lie as Brian, Customer Service Manager , explains on the phone that actually Chris cannot come out as requested because he is on another installation...WHICH IS IT???? Ninth Issue...Santos, the technician arrives.Nice man, caught in the crossfire...He has in his hands the very same parts that are sitting in my garage. We explain the trouble we have had getting the correct filter system installed and WHY is it leaking all over the ground under the unit ..surely that will rust through prematurely? We are told that "Carrier" does have lots of condensation so that water sitting there and collecting is "normal".....I am DOCUMENTING EVERYTHING... It has been FOUR DAYS now and it is working and mysteriously...there is a LOT LESS water on the ground....I should have went with Air Rescue.

This went fine. They had to replace the hot and cold hoses that run to the washer. They showed up on time and they didn’t overcharge me. They gave me the opportunity to provide the hoses, so he would only charge for the install.

Will not use again.
Description of Work: They were called to do a seasonal check up on A/C Unit. Tech through the whole process was trying to sell me a new system. After some proding from me gas was added to the system and is still running and cooling just fine. This is the second time this has happened with this company. The first time I bought a capacitor that was weak. I was told.

They arrived on time and completed their work in one day. It ran late but this was due to having to replace the pedestal in the garage for the air handler to sit upon. We did have trouble with the condensing unit but they replaced it with a new one. Since it was a Friday and the new one wouldn't be in until Monday, they covered a hotel room for my family and I to stay in for the weekend. House is very comfortable and the temp stays within a degree or two of the set temp on the thermostat that came with the installation.

At a recent home show, we gave the Home Depot representatives our information, we recently purchased a forclosed townhome that had no A/C inside or out. We were in need of a completely new system. We currently live an hour south of the new place, so I had to get a ride with my husband and stay in the area/ the house waiting on this appointment. Our consult time was scheduled from 12-2, we were promised a call 40 minutes before the technician showed up. I wasted hours of my life waiting on someone to show up. I waited until 2:30, called the office, and asked when the technician would be out. I was told I would get a call right back, but I never did. Two weeks later, still haven't heard anything. I decided to go with another company instead of trying to deal with the lack of communication.
