It is a national company with local sales reps. They are very upfront on pricing. The monthly service fee is the biggest catch for home security systems and they are one of the lowest. You can prepay it for up to a year at $12.95 per month for the monitoring. That was the biggest selling point for us. We talked to someone who had a system installed by them several years ago and that was very helpful. We communicated by phone and email, which was very convenient. That included getting us a contracted price ahead of time and a free estimate. They were originally going to do a wired system, but they ended up having to go wireless because of something with the way our house was built. The wireless cost more money, but he didn't charge us anymore even though he had to use more sensitive equipment, so we appreciated that. Steven was the only person that you deal with and he has subcontractors that do the install, but he came on the day of the install to make sure everything went smoothly. We think he has a satisfaction guaranteed kind of thing. We have been very pleased so far. We have set it off twice and the monitoring companies made the phone calls. I set it off one time and I was here to get the call. The other time we were out of town and my father-in-law set it off and wasn't here. They called the police who came out, so it obviously works. I actually checked out the monitoring company and they are very highly rated for quality. It is a little hard to catch them by phone. You can leave a message with the answering service but they always get back right away. We do compare them to another company and their price was about the same, but he was higher on the monthly charge. I asked if they could help me on the monthly fee and he never responded. AMSAFE had a basic package like the other companies. We got two additional motion sensors. He offered a lot of different variables, such as the health monitoring system. He was very straightforward and we were pleased with that. He came on time.
