All Star Appliance Repair

Description of Work: needed repair of washer not draining or spinning.

Description of Work: Pat with All Star Appliance was called out to diagnose and repair a Kenmore Washer / Dryer Stack Unit in a residential home.

Description of Work: Called company at 5:45pm as they advertised 24 hour service with no extra charges.They sent repairman within the hour telling me that they charged 59.00 to diagnose the problem and then if I authorized work, that would be subtracted from repair cost. This is a rental property so I was not able to be there however the tennant was. The tennant said the guy opened the refrigerator door and then told him to remove everything from the top as he then went outside to call me and give me an estimate. He told me that there were three things that needed to be replaced and it would cost 250.00. When I questioned the guy on what was wrong, I could tell that something was not right and asked the repairman if I could speak again with the tennant. The repairman went inside and handed the phone to the tennant with the speakerphone on. I was unaware of this. I told the tennant that I was not going to authorize the repair as I did not feel the repairman was able to give me a good explanation and that I felt he was trying to take advantage of me. The phone went dead. A few minutes later, the tennant calls me back on his phone, told me that the repairman never even looked at the refrigerator, told him to remove the items on top and went to his truck. He was not aware he was calling me until he handed the phone to him. He told me that when the repair person heard what I was telling the tennnant, he snached the phone back and left without explanation. He told me that the repair guy was stumbling and he thought he might be drunk. He made no attenpt to collect 59.00 but then again, he performed no diagnostics. The next day I had another repair company come out and they repaired the problem and charged 115.00. Unlike the first guy, they looked to see what the problem was. Sure glad I did not use them. They advertise family business for 45 years. I have reason to doubt that. No one followed up to see what happened.
