I have had problems with my pool and spa in Sarasota for quite some time and the pool person I used could not figure out the problem. I signed up for Angie's list and was disappointed to see a recommendation from St. Petersburg Fl. but out of desperation, I called. James from Action Pools came over when he was servicing another job in Sarasota and assured me that my issues could be corrected. He said he had a contact in Sarasota that could take care of my problems. He recommended C.J. Shelly at A and D pools. James gave me several suggestions and did not charge for a service call. I called A and D Pools and they promptly came out, assessed the problem and did the repair for $90.00. The pool is repaired and running well. I switched my pool service to jA and D in Sarasota and look forward to their service.Thanks, James at Action Pools, I would recommend you to anyone.Jan N

They were very thorough and responsive, told me everything that could be an issue and what was not an issue - there was very little wrong with the pool and filter systems but they checked everything and made me feel much more comfortable closing on the house. I would use them again in the future if I need to update my pool or pool deck area. They were great.

In the end the work went well. Unfortunately our pool is stained. I will not hestitate to contact Action Pools to help remove the stains.... just want to take a breather!

The men did a great job. You cannot tell there was ever a drain there, it looks just like the rest of the pool. The regrouting makes it look like a new pool. They cleaned up the entire area before they left. The price was exactly what James quoted. They will be the first ones we think of if we ever need further repairs.

The work started Sept.. 7 and was completed Sept 12. When I called Mr. Lambert on Aug. 29th, he told me he did not replace marcite pool finishes, but used fiberglass. He asked me to view his website explanation of the process complete with pictures. We viewed it and decided it was the way to go. He came out August 30 and gave us an estimate and we agreed to the work. The job started Sept.7th and was completed Sept 12th. The job was delayed two days during this period due to heavy rain storms. His crew was efficient and neat., kept the work area clean and were pleasant to work with. James Lambert is very professional and knowledgeable about pools. He is easy to talk to and spent a great deal of time explaining and fixing our pool equipment. I highly recommend his company, Action Pool Inc.

James was punctual to the appointment. He thoroughly assessed the project and explained the process. We did not go ahead with the project because we had an unexpected problem with our air conditioning unit, but the quote is good for six months if I change my mind.

James Lambert made the original sales visit. He is very friendly and provided clear information on the job. Plus, he gave me a few pool maintenance tips. He quoted such a fair price and presented his sales pitch so well that I acutally cancelled another estimate I had set up and felt comfortable choosing him. Both men who did the work were punctual, professional, and polite. My husband talked with them each morning when he let them in and I spoke with Lee toward the end of the project. Whenever I needed to talk to Mr. Lambert on the phone (several times), he was responsive each time. The experience overall was very good. The only issues (not major complaints) for my fellow consumers to consider for an even better experience are below: 1) The job began Mon. March 28. It was going along steadily and well on its way to being finished Thurs. or Friday. We had the big storms Thursday and that made everyone lose a day. The next day ( Fri.) was perfect weather. Our power was still out until 1pm but there was a generator when the men came to work and power the rest of the day. They came on time but left immediately,by Jame's instruction, to go to another job. They never came back and that pushed the job to all day Saturday. We were hoping to have peace on our Sat. but it's not a major problem. Just make sure you let them know if you want them to stick with your job straight through. 2) The fiberglass needles are everywhere after the job and I am still sweeping and taping them up. They just blow the fiberglass across the deck. Then it falls out of the places they blew it after you sweep and you keep finding them. I should have asked if they could vacuum them. 3) They finished the job on a Saturday. I prepared their check the next day and it went out to them on Monday so they got it right away. I had to wait for the warranty for about a week and a half. You might want to ask for the warranty right at the start as I should have done. That was my fault. So, just a few helpful hints and we are otherwise happy with our pretty new looking pool.

I had a pool leak and I ran into James at the pool supply company. I explained the situation and due to the nature of the leak he knew he would not be able to fix the problem but he referred us to a company in the area that could. He was very helpful and considerate.

Great. Contractor did the planned services; charged $725; gave him a $75 tip. No problems since.

Pool was built in the late 1970's and had been resurfaced once since then about 20 years ago so it needed attention. I found Mr. Lambert, owner of Action Pool Inc on Angie's List and decided to give him a call. He and his professional team of workers provided great service at a fair price and they did a beautiful job. We have received many compliments on our pool since they completed the resurfacing and are very happy with their work.

Fine. I was impressed with the pricing James Lambert offered for service call plus cost of motor - compared to a company I had dealt with the week before that charged $99 for a service call and still left me with a motor problem.

The work went very well, I am very satisfied.

They drained and prepared the pool as stated, applied the fiberglass, applied a non-skid texture to the steps, and applied a finish coat. It was a very messy process, but they kept the area clean and left it perfectly clean at the completion of the project. The pool looked/looks beautiful. As a favor that was above and beyond and not part of the contract, James Lambert, the president, even helped my husband with replacing the pool filter. We would definitely hire them again.

There were some gaps in communication, but, overall, they did a great job. I am completely satisfied with the quality of their work.

Everything went well. The men arrived on time every day and left me a phone number to call should a problem arise during the evening hours. They worked diligently and cleaned up after each day. At the end of they job they started the water to refill the pool. I was given a $200.00 discount for using Angies' List. Before the job was started I was given a list of references from their many customers. Upon checking I found out the company had been in business a long time and had an excellent reputation. I appreciated getting that list in advance.

Action Pool, Inc. was originally contacted in November to provide an estimate for refinishing pool surface. We also had had leak problems in the past through a pool light and wanted that covered. We informed Mr. Lambert we would get back with him. In December we were informed by a water company we had a leak and determined in was around/in the pool area. Following up with Mr. Lambert he recommended a company who could detect the source of the leak. It was an excellent company that we learned was on Angie's List. After the leak repair we scheduled a date for the pool work. The cost was higher than estimated because the pump had to be replaced. Jacuzzi no longer made the pump we needed and another model had to be installed. Mr. Lambert's employees were excellent, very thorough, and quick. The work went extremely well and our pool looks great. I am referring him to a co-worker who has a smaller fiberglass pool but had received a much larger estimate to refinish.

They arrived on the scheduled start date and proceeded as planned within the expected time frame (allowing for one day delay due to rain). They were very professional, including promptly cleaning up after themselves. The results exceed our expectations and the pool looks beautiful. In addition, they went above and beyond by moving a heavy table from the pool area out to the lawn for me.

They were fast, excellent, and clean.

Resurfaced my marcite pool with fiberglass. Crew was courteous and professional. I am satisfied.

He was great to call me back and keep me informed of his schedule. He was prompt in letting me know when the work would be completed.

THEY WERE OUTSTANDING. I'VE HAD A LOT OF TROUBLE GETTING THIS DONE, AND THEY TOOK CARE OF IT. THEY WERE HERE WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE, STAYED WITHIN BUDGET AND THEY ALWAYS INFORMED ME IF THERE WAS EXTRA WORK BEFORE THEY PROCEEDED. FINISHED IN JUST TWO DAYS AND WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND PUNCTUAL. I'VE ALREADY RECOMMENDED THEM TO A FEW PEOPLE. PRICE INCLUDED RE-GROUTING OF TILE AND LIGHT REPLACEMENT.

VERY PLEASANT, POLITE AND FRIENDLY EMPLOYEES. THEY WORKED HARD. THE PRICE WAS MUCH LOWER THAN COMPETITORS'. JUST A FEW THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE: THE TILE THEY INSTALLED IS NOT STRAIGHT. ALTHOUGH IT'S NOT WILDLY CROOKED, IT'S VERY ANNOYING TO ME THAT IT'S NOT STRAIGHT. THEY POSITIONED THE TILE BY HAND. NO STRAIGHT LINE DRAWN TO GUIDE THE POSITIONING. I REALLY WOULD LIKED TO HAVE SEEN GREATER PRECISION AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL. WHEN THE JOB WAS DONE, THEY INSISTED ON A CHECK MADE OUT TO THE OWNER'S NAME, RATHER THAN THE COMPANY'S NAME. (THIS LETS THEM CASH THE CHECK FASTER, BUT MAKES IT ESSENTIALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE CONSUMER TO STOP PAYMENT IF A SERIOUS ERROR IS DISCOVERED.) I CONSIDER THIS UNPROFESSIONAL. THEY DAMAGED THEY LADDER GUARDS WHEN THEY REMOVED THEM. I HAD TO REPLACE THEM. I DID LIKE THAT THEY STARTED THE JOB WITHOUT A DOWN PAYMENT. THAT TELLS ME THEY'RE PRETTY CONFIDENT IN THEIR WORK. ALSO THE OWNER ANSWERED MY CALLS OR RETURNED MY CALLS VERY QUICKLY.

THE COMPANY REP. JAMES, AND THE WORK CREW WERE VERY GOOD TO DEAL WITH. THE CREW WORKED HARD, AND SHOWED UP WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD. THEY WERE PUNCTUAL, AMIABLE AND DID GOOD WORK. AND, THEY WERE THE LOW BIDDER TO BOOT!
