These were the same folks who put in the original unit, 20 years ago. It started failing and then died completely in a couple of days. Their techs came out a couple of days after we called (busy time for them, so we thought this was pretty responsive.) After they gave us the bad, but not surprising, news, their manager came out to get specs, and that afternoon got back to us with a quote. We hadn't done any comparative pricing, so can't speak to that. We agreed to the proposal, and got the unit installed 2 days later (again, really pleased with the turn around, given this happened in August). About 4 hours worth of work, guys were quick, professional and friendly.

Technicians were excellent and very prompt. They had to come back out since they didn't have the part for the older unit that in in our detached apt. As soon as it came in (2 days later) they were very prompt in coming back out and getting our system up and running. I would definitely call them again.

It was very good. They have someone that answers the phone. You don't have to leave a message and they call you back. They set the appointment, they call when they are on their way. They showed up on time. They fixed my problem and cleaned up after themselves. It was a very good experience.

It leaked from there and I had a wet ceiling. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it for me, took pictures and everything. They come once a year for routine maintenance. I remember the charge was really reasonable. We don't have a contract with them, and we call them first. I recommend them to my adult children too.

They installed it and they were great. They installed the unit probably 5 years ago. They come twice a year to clean it. I have a monthly maintenance service. If I call them and have a problem, most of the time they will just discuss it right over the phone and tell us what to do. If I need them out, they are here rather quickly. The cost is probably $30 a month because I have two units.

We knew what we were going in to prior to the install. We knew how much and around how much it would take. Everything they said was on the money.

We had an AC system that was old and not cooling well at all and we wanted to replace it before it stopped altogether, so we called Acme and owner Lorin came to our home. He was very knowledgeable, professional and was very thorough in going over our system with us and based on what we wanted (an ice cold AC system!) he made recommendations to us. We felt very comfortable with his recommendations and his quote seemed very fair, so we decided to go forward with Acme. Jeff (I think he was the job manager), Greg, Tyler and Brett arrived on the day that was arranged (this was a multi-day job). Greg and Tyler were the two workers who were here most of the time and they worked diligently for just over 3 days doing the above listed work. Owner Lorin came out to check on the job at least one time that I saw, perhaps more. Jeff was back and forth checking on things multiple times during installation. They, of course, needed to be in and out of the house and attic repeatedly and I feel that they were as neat as they could possibly be with this type of work. They protected our wood floors and put down drop cloths under the attic opening. At the end of each day they swept up the floors of any loose insulation, etc. They were polite and respectful of our home and very easy to have around, which is important when you have people in and out of your home for this long. We are very pleased with their work and the oversight that was provided by Jeff and Lorin . . . and we are thrilled with our ice cold AC!

They are very responsive. They come in the summertime when you call with an A/C out very quickly. They don't bill you when they're here. I think it's nice not to be pushed for money. The workers are also very nice.

The man knew his business. They knew what they were doing.

First service call was August 5, 2011. Problem resolved October 20, 2011. Friday, August 5, 2011, the air coming out of the vents in my house was not blowing cold (the air conditioning was on). I called ACME Air and Dan came out about 5:00 PM and put freon in my unit. Over the weekend the air continued to blow warm. On Monday, August 8, I called and Dan came out again (same day service again - they fit me into their schedule and I was very grateful for that), thinking it was still a freon problem, but the freon was fine. He could not find anything wrong, so he thought it might be a hole in the duct work under my mobile home. He scheduled someone to come out and crawl under my home - that was not the problem. He called his supervisor, Jeff, who suggested he look at the heat strip. The heat strip was on, so my unit was blowing both cold and hot air at the same time. He said he would order a heat strip and replace mine when they received the new one. He turned my heat off. My power bill was an extra $100 that month due to the heat strip being constantly on. The new heat strip also stayed on. There were too many service calls and too many attempts to discover the problem to list here. I will summarize by saying, they had great difficulty trying to discover what the problem was. The new heat strip did not solve the problem (they put my original back and did not charge me), they thought it could be the wiring, so they consulted an electrician, they re-wired my thermostat, they called the manufacturer and the workers and supervisors were out repeatedly over two and a half months working on different ideas and replacing different parts, all to no avail. In early October I mentioned to the Jeff that I had not paid anything yet and was concerned about receiving a huge bill all at once. He said he would work with me on the bill. On October 20, 2011, the problem was finally fixed. I don't understand exactly what the issue was, but it had something to do with a circuit breaker box for the A/C unit on the outside of my house that someone had installed years ago. It was wired wrong, something about the white and black wire being switched. Anyway, they corrected whatever it was and I my unit has worked great since. They said they only get difficult problems that they can't figure out about once every ten years. Jeff came out personally with the bill and they only charged me $358, and $80 of that was for a new thermostat i purchased from them. They spent a lot of time working on my unit and replaced a number of parts, so this bill was MORE THAN FAIR to me. All the people that came out to work on this were very personable and concerned that it was taking so long to find and fix the problem.

This is the third time I've used Acme. They are professional, polite, and very knowledgeable, as well as very reasonable. I've recommended them to four others and had great feedback from all four.

Called and set up an appointment for technician to come out. Two guys showed up promptly and inspected why the upstairs unit was not cooling. Went up into the attic and discovered that a cap had blown. They inspected the A/Cs and explained the ins and outs of the A/C panels as well. Very helpful and definitely will use in the future.

They're very efficient and they had the type of unit we wanted which was a Fredrick unit. We had no problems with it after they came, and we're probably going to have them come service the unit on a weekly basis.

Everything went really well. I heavily rely on them and I have been using them for about twenty to thirty years. I would highly recommend them to others, as well.

My air conditioning went out on Mother's Day and I had to call someone to come and look at it. I called this company and they actually answered the phone. It took him about 4 hours from the time I called him to the time he came out and finished the job. I was very happy with this place.
