A Old Time Roofing

I called for an estimate. I made THREE appointments with this company (even stayed home from work for one appointment which has a scheduled time at my house) and the guy never showed up, nor did he call. At that point, I used another company and had the work done. I would NEVER recommend this group. If the man who made all those appointments (can't remember his name) represents this company, I would never use them. VERY POOR!!

They came out the very next day after I signed the contract and installed the roof. It looks great! Small problems with sat dish and missing wood, but they took care of it without any problems. The salesman, Robert Norton, was very professional and took care of everything to make sure we were happy. Would highly recommend A Old Time Roofing.

They were going to squeeze us in because it was an emergency, which I thought was very nice.However, a friend of my husband was able to come out before they were able to. We have used them in the past and they were great.

The customer service rep that explains the process and pricing was on time and polite. He was very respectful of being in your home and not at all pushy. He was a pleasure to work with on the front end. The roof was put on timely. It was a little irritating that they did not tell us an exact day they would be coming out but instead a range of three or four days. The job was done in two days. We only found 2 nails left behind which is understandable since we have grass on the side and back with a large driveway. My biggest compliant would be the two pavers and solar light they broke. They never came to repair them. Once the job is done it is not the easiest to get in touch with them. The roof looks great. No flaws. Seems like it will hold up well.

A old Time was very responsive to every call, and we needed service during this summer when they are busiest. Jack came out to give me an estimate; he was on time. He took the time to go over the costs and his recommendations. We have a traditional roof plus an additional flat roof over an addition. Jack recommended a TPO roof over the flat roof which I feel is a great option. We had 3 other roofers come out to provide estimates, and none of the others were familiar with TPO. The TPO roof has a longer life than a traditional flat roof, and comes with 1" insulation that'll help keep the room cooler. A Old Time was not the cheapest (and not the most expensive either), but we decided to choose them because they have been in business a long time and are a trusted name in the community. We wanted to be sure to get a roofer who we could rely on in the future too. They have their own staff of roofers and DO NOT use day laborers. Their staff does roofing every day and I felt that meant they would do a better job. Every call I made to the office was returned promptly. Every interaction with the company makes me believe that they are committed to providing excellent customer service. They also crafted a business letter I could submit to my insurance company to help me with my claim woes from the tree falling on the roof-- very helpful! Finally, they even were able to complete the job before the date they had promised. Service was excellent through the roofing project also. Jack continued to come by each day and he was able to address any questions. One day was spent removing our old roof, and the next day was spent putting on the new one; it was that simple. I would recommend this roofer without hesitation.

These people were great, from their office staff to their estimator. As busy as the rainey season is they were the first ones to look at my roof. They treated us like we were their only client. When I have all the estimates I am imagine they will be the ones choosen for the way they have treated us. Very nice experience.

I called the office numerous times playing phone tag with Cindy in the office for over 2 weeks. Never got to first base. I gave her my cell phone number and told her to text me (cell phones don't work in government buildings where I work but can get texts). She could not "get the text to work" though no one else has had trouble. I wondered if she were trying to text from the land line? I gave her my home number, told her to call before 7:15 a or at 4:30p-nope no luck here either. I even tried contacting the company via email (another waste of time that Cindy suggested), but no one ever contacted me to give me an estimate on getting my leaking roof fixed. I finally gave up today and just hung up the phone, totally disgusted. When it comes to customer service, Cindy is the perfect example of what not to do. I called Spicer roofing and they were out in 24 hours to give me a written estimate. As they were recommended by a coworker who had used them twice with good feedback, I think I will go with them. Take my advice, if you are retired or a stay at home individual, this company may work for you. That way, you can work around Cindy's schedule. It is not, however for the majority of us folks who work 7:30a-4p because you will never reach anyone there (Cindy said they work 8-3p and NO Saturdays. Apparently this includes all employees). Most days, I am so busy seeing patients, I don't In a lunch break (forget any other breaks) so calling during work hours is not an option unless I have a "no show". As I never got to first base, I never got an estimate or paid for service but the feedback would not allow me to submit feedback unless I checked all the boxes...sure am not inclined to give them an A, B or C rating on much of anything right about now, but in all fairness, their pricing had nothing to do with this feedback.

Referred to this company by a family member. Ted came to our house on the day that was convenient for us, wrote an estimate that was not too much more than a different roofer had estimated three years previous, and thoroughly explained the products and their guarantee. Offered to start right away as he had manpower available for a separate job that was postponed. They started the very next Monday and finished in two days work (with one day of rain in between). Happy with the job, I walked on the roof myself several times and would recommend their work to anyone.

It was a horrible experience. They somehow dropped something heavy onto our air conditioner, which smashed in the top. However, they finally took care of all the problems we had to make sure we were pleased. They took responsibility for the air conditioning problems we had, and they helped work with our HVAC people to make sure that the parts that were damaged were replaced. It took a long time to get the air conditioner totally fixed. They replaced our skylights without telling us they were going to be doing that during the day. We didn’t have any furniture covered, so a bunch of construction debris fell through and caused a big mess. I ended up having to clean that up myself. We called a few times to try to speak with the owner about our experience, and we were never able to reach him to speak with him directly, but instead were directed to speak with the sales person. I really don’t know how the price compared to our other estimates.

Very professional. Returned calls and showed up on time for an estimate, gave estimate right then, scheduled work very quickly, showed up on time and completed work in time estimated. Cleanup was very good. Very pleased and would (and have) recommend them.

The company representative provided detailed information and responses to all of my questions. The job was completed as agreed upon, on time and with a good cleanup. They were onsite only two days. The sales representative was responsive throughout the process. It was clear that this company believes that each satisfied customer is an investment in their company and they acted accordingly. I highly recommend A Old Time Roofing.

We needed a tear-off and rebuild of our roof and got several estimates. A Old Time Roofing was a competitive rate and they came highly recommended by friends of ours who had work done on their roof as well. The cost of the roof was not the cheapest, but it wasn't the highest either. Knowing that this company has been in business since 1978 certainly made it easier to make the decision. I just knew that they would stand behind their work - and they did. They coordinated with our schedule to get the work done. They did a great job cleaning up. The best part is that the company did not require any money until I was completely satisfied, and they didn't collect money until all inspections were approved. I am completely satisfied with A Old Time Roofing and would recommend them to everyone needing a new roof!

They’re doing a good job and were very competitive with their pricing. They’ve been getting it done very quickly.

Rob from Old Time Roofing impressed us with his knowledge of roofing and building methods used in my neighborhood (my home was built in 1961). We reduced our selection list to two vendors of which Rob was the lead. At the last minute, we realized we needed structural work on my roof and attic space. Something that Old Time Roofing did not do. The second place vendor did. This was the only reason we did not select Old Time Roofing. Rob is very honest and knowledgeable in his field. There was no pressure and he is very responsive. I do recommend him and Old Time Roofing and will include them in our next project.

I needed a quote for a new roof which was flagged in the home inspection to adjust the selling price of a home I was closing on in a few days. Old Time Roofing came out right away and sent me a quote right away within plenty of time to negotiate the final price for the home I was buying. I needed a new standard roof and a flat roof. They walked me through the entire job before I signed their contract. It was rather detailed as I needed a standard roof and a flat roof replaced. They showed me samples of the roofing materials, and recommended the best materials available, as my home was on the water and subject to extreme weather. They also walked me through the new codes and construction needed for the flat portion of my roof, which now will be sloped. They started the job within days. They took care of the permitting and keep me informed as to their progress every step of the way. They finished on time and did a wonderful job of cleaning up. I was particularly pleased with Kevin Hines who took me through the job from start to finish. I highly recommend this company for their honesty and quality workmanship. From quote to completion, it took about one and one half weeks. I am very satisfied with this company.

They were very good and they did a great job. They repaired things that were not in the contract. When they tore off the old roof, they came across things that needed to be fixed, and they fixed them.

We bought our house at the beginning of June and discovered roofing problems two weeks after moving in. We had four roofing companies come out and look at the roof. The first told us he could simply repair it and gave us an estimate (we later found out that a spot repair would have only fixed our problem for a year at the most before the roof would start leaking again). The second contractor told us us the roof was shot and needed to be replaced. He gave us a 30k estimate to put tile back on and 12k for a new shingle roof. The third and fourth companies told us the same thing, but never returned their estimates. Finally, Ted with 'A Old Time Roofing' came out to look at our house. He showed up exactly on time and got right to work. Not only did his estimate include specifically what we would were getting charged for, but it was thousands of dollars less than what we had been told the job would cost. He had even done some houses in our neighborhood, so we hopped in my truck and drove around to check out his work. We decided to go with Ted's company and within a week, a crew showed up, removed our old roof and put down the tar paper. The next morning, the finishing crew showed up promptly at 8am and had my roof finished by 6pm that day. When it came time for me to pay, I called Ted to ask if I should give the check to his foreman. Ted told me that he wouldn't be taking payment until he came out to inspect the work and make sure that I was happy with the job that was done. He totally saw the project through from beginning to end. After seeing our new roof, our next door neighbor used Ted's company just a few months later and was thrilled with her roof as well. I recommend his service to anyone needing any type of roof work. He's honest, quick and his employees do top notch work.

I signed the contract in May. They did a quality job but it took about two months. The job needed to be redone because it was not up to code when the city came to do the inspection. They had to come back to redo the job. The salesperson did keep me informed. The laborers did not speak English and the supervisor could not translate. I would use them again but with the caveat that they take time to finish the job.

They were on-time, professional, and gave great explanations.

Price wise, they were good, but I would not recommend them. The manufacturer guaranteed 20 years for the shingles. I maintain a hotel so I know the roof business somewhat. They aren't a bad company, but their workers seem to be short term. You have to watch them very closely. They don't do a real bad job, but I have to specify what I need them to do and then watch them. I had to supervise the job. The manufacturer inspector came and told me the flat part of the roof was not included, but the workers told me it was. I probably wouldn't use them again.

We have had two roofs put on with this company. I was rather surprised when I saw the other reports. They were great and I love my roofs. When it came time to put a new flat roof on my existing one ( one I also bought from them, a ten year roof that lasted almost 13 years) I called them. For some reason or another we did not connect. I was made aware of another company and I let them bid as well. When Old Tyme did bid, they were higher. Money was tight so I went with the other company. As soon as they had my deposit, the price started going up. I panicked. I thought I had hired a bad company. I called Jack Byers, my salesman. He was amazing. He asked me a great many questions, including who the company was. He said they were not a bad company, apparently they had just made a mistake. He told me what to ask them about the type of roof they were planning on putting on. All of this help, from a company that I considered true professionals helped me so much. My panic went away. As it turns out the company had made a mistake. The roof was put on, and it almost cost me what it would have if I had gone with a company that I knew and trusted. Believe me it would have been worth the extra money for the peace of mind. Old Tyme is a good company of honest people. I will use them next time....again.

Love my roof and feel very proud of my research in picking the most honest and professional company out there, I would highly recommend them to everyone I know.

They called and said they didn't have the means to transport a 40' ladder to my house. Said they would call back in a while. Never called back. I called the next day and left a message. They did not call again. I called the tech who phoned me a day earlier and told him off for not having the decency to call me back. Once I pulled them up on here, I am glad they did not show up.

Old Time Roofing gave my Grandma an estimate for $5000 and ended up charging her $12000. They took too long and kept coming back with different numbers for her to pay. There were nails in the driveway and we got flat tires. They were rude and unprofessional. The cleanup was very poor.

Awful. I signed on with Old Time Roofing in March 2008. I did my research by asking neighbors and signing in to the BBB website. Work started within two weeks as "I was fortunate that there was an opening". A crew showed up & removed the old tile and old felt. I paid extra for modified bitumen as it was suggested that it was a superior underlayment that would last 50 years and the tar adhesion would be released when it was blow torched in place. On top of the modified bit there would be felt and then the icing on the cake, tiles. The first evidence of the crew not working smart was allowing flowing tar to fall on my newly painted walkways. I would not have had the walkways painted if the roof had leaked first. Nonetheless, I would have expected the crew to place tarps and not have to follow up later on with cleanup crews. Now they have to repaint the walkways. Huge chunks of debris was allowed to fall and clog my rain gutters rather than temporarily placing wads of paper in the downspout openings to prevent the debris from clogging them. They did come back, and as best they could, retrieved some of the debris. The valleys of the roof could have been finished better, one was OK, the other not. The pathetic attempt to fix the valley in question was to come out and trim the edge. There were numerous calls to address & potentially head off future problems. Paul K., the rep, was always very apologetic and eager to admit "you're right". It didn't take long to understand that "you're right" doesn't solve the problem. Once the modified bit was on, the roof leaked during a rainstorm. Paul K. responded quickly & got his leak expert out there who agreed that the ridge vent was the problem and the flashing was not done properly. I climbed on the roof to see for myself & was assured that the fix up crew would have this made right. I learned that the replacement skylight was not hurricane rated (and never offered to me that way) and so after numerous calls, it was installed in September. Fast forward, we just had another rain storm (when we were home) on Sunday, 5th of October & you got it, the roof leaked again, in the same place. Paul K. sent his rep out to place a tarp over the area. They did show up on Monday the 6th to remove the tile, replace the bit and re-flash, and hopefully this is a done deal. I did call in September after months of frustration and asked to speak with the owner Ted Williams to report all my problems. I left this information with Joanne who said she'd get someone on it right away. No one called or followed up and when I called the office, I was told she'd quit. I had the rep, Paul, sign on my contract that they'd follow up in November with a repaint of my walkways & they've agreed to do that. In addition, the painter they sent out to repaint a small portion of my ceiling had botched the job with streaks, a mismatched paint job & holidays in his original work. They have agreed to also come out to repaint my ceiling following this news
