+ -1 moreThey claimed 1012 ft damaged wood. I have since crawled through my attic area and was only able to readily identify less than 30 linear feet of replaced wood. Some of the damaged 1 X 12 planks were replaced with 1 X 6 planks. After recklessly tearing up the overlapping tar paper to replace damaged wood, they put patches of single layers of tar paper to cover the holes (contract states two layers of tar paper). They used some other kind of material around the electrical mast head that had some kind of adhesive covered by a thin plastic. It was installed without removing the plastic, thereby not allowing the adhesive to adhere to the roof. In the process, they damaged the fascia on the left front of the house. The top cap is not even. It extends to within 10 inches of the right end of the roof, but stops 35 inches from the left end of the roof. At the very least, I dispute the additional charges for damaged wood.
Description of Work: On September 24th, 2007, I signed a contract agreement with Old Time Roofing, Ted R. Williams Ent., 2636 22nd St N. St. Petersburg, Fl 33713, to tear off and replace the shingles on the front side of my home at 1707 Bayou Grande Blvd. NE, St. Petersburg, Fl 33703. The agreement allowed for 60 square/linear feet of 1 X 12 decking to be replaced if necessary. The job was estimated to take about day to complete. In reality, it took parts of four days to complete. Although I tried to observe the work being done, I had to leave at various times for doctor appointments. I did notice some very questionable work procedures and results (pictures available), which lead me to question the integrity of my roof seal.

+ -1 morePRICE WAS HIGH. BECAUSE THE HOUSE IS OLD, THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES TO QUOTE THE JOB. THEY DID NOT SHOW UP ON TIME, CLEANUP WAS UNACCEPTABLE, AND QUALITY OF WORK WAS POOR. IT DOESN'T LEAK. IT JUST DOES NOT LOOK GOOD.

OLD TIME ROOFERS WERE HERE WITHIN AN HOUR OF CALLING. THE REPAIR WAS DONE AND ALL IS FINE. I WOULD RECOMMEND OLD TIME ROOFERS FOR ANYONE NEEDING A ROOF AND KNOWING THAT FOLLOW UP IS DONE IF NEEDED.
