 + -1 moreThey never came to our home. We called another locksmith that was in Angie's list. That locksmith came 50 minutes after our call. I should have contacted the Angie's list person to start with.
Description of Work: All the locks on our home were to be changed. We think we had a break in by someone that had a key, we were nervous and wanted the locks changed right away. We were given a date that was 4 days in the future, but we told them the owners could not be home, but we wanted to send an employee with the key to let them in. They refused and said they couldn't not do the work without us there. We told them to come the following Monday. That Monday they called and said they couldn't get there until FRIDAY, 5 days later.

 + -1 moreTHEY WERE PROMPT, REPORTED WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD, WERE HONEST IN GIVING ME RESPONSES ABOUT THE OTHER LOCKS AND THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE. THE LOCK IS STILL WORKING WELL 10 MONTHS LATER.
Description of Work: THEY REPLACED A LOCK ON THE FRONT ENTRANCE DOOR AND CHECKED THE OTHER LOCKS IN THE HOUSE.

 + -1 moreI called on behalf of the business that I work for to have keys made. The technician never showed up or called. When I called them back to see what had happened, they had no record of my appointment. So I made another appointment. When they had not shown up by 4:30 p.m. I called once again to see what had happened. First I was told that he was on his way, and then I was told that he was tied up on another job and could he come in the morning. I said that I would not be available the next morning and inquired as to why I did not get a phone call. The person on the phone said," I do not know, I can't call you if they don't call me." When I told her that was her companies problem not mine, she very curtly said," Well what do you want me to do, cancel or reschedule." This company, or at least this person needs some customer service lessons!

 + -1 moreI had called the day before to arrange to get the locks changed. I agreed to a rather open-ended arrival time as they notified at that time that they had a very full schedule on my desired day. I received a call later in the afternoon notifying me that it would be nearly 7 pm before they could arrive and asking me if we wanted them to come or did I want to reschedule. When I stated that I would prefer to take care of it as soon as possible, I was told no problem. In fact, the technicians did arrive a little after 6:30 PM as advertised. Once they arrived, they performed their tasks in a timely and professional manner. I would certainly use them again in the future.
Description of Work: They changed the locks on 3 doors, 2 of which we could not find the keys for. Then they produced 4 sets of keys for the new locks.

Description of Work: I HAD AN APPOINTMENT SET SEPTEMBER 27, 2004 AFTER 3:00PM. AFTER NOT HEARING FROM A-1 AFTER 4:30 PM I CALLED THE COMPANY, AND THEY SAID ' I FORGOT ABOUT YOUR APPOINTMENT' ! I SAID O.K., HOW ABOUT TOMORROW SAME TIME, THEY AGREED AND APOLOGIZED FOR NOT SHOWING UP. THE NEXT DAY I RECEIVED A CALL AFTER 4:30 FROM A-1 TO TELL ME THE LOCKSMITH IS ON HIS WAY, I SAID 'I WOULD BE THERE IN 15-20 MINUTES'. WHEN I ARRIVED THE LOCKSMITH 'WAYNE PARKER' HAD ALREADY GONE! THEN HE SAID HIS COMPANY SELLS GUNS AND HAVING A SHOT GUN IS A GOOD GUN TO HAVE BECAUSE WHEN YOU PULL IT BACK THE PERSON WOULD HEAR THIS ACTION AND KNOW YOU HAVE A WEAPON. WHAT WAS THIS GUY THINKING?
Description of Work: I PURCHASED THREE NEW LOCKS AND CALLED THEM TO REPLACE ON EXISTING DOORS. LOCKSMITH CAME AND HE CRITICIZED THE SCHLAGE HARDWARE I HAD ALREADY PURCHASED. RECOMMENDED I ALSO BUY DOUBLE KEY DEADBOLT, WHICH I AGREED, BUT HE HAD NONE TO SELL ME. HE SUGGESTED THAT IF I DO BUY THEM TO CONSIDER BUYING A BETTER LOCK FROM BALDWIN. I PAID HIM FOR THE SERVICE CALL,HE LEFT AND I WENT TO HOME DEPOT TO BUY NEW HARDWARE. BALDWIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. I BOUGHT SCHLAGE DOUBLE KEY DEADBOLTS. HE CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY. SAID HE COULDN'T INSTALL THE DOUBLE KEY DEADBOLT BECAUSE IT WAS A METAL DOOR AND HIS BOSS SAID TO LEAVE. YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT WHEN YOU WERE HERE YESTERDAY? I SAID I COULD LIVE WITH JUST ONE DOUBLE KEY DEADBOLT, PLEASE RECONSIDER AND DO THE REST OF THE JOB. HE CALLED HIS BOSS AND SAID IT WAS OK TO STAY. WHILE HE WAS WORKING I TOLD HIM I COULDN'T FIND BALDWIN HARDWARE I WANTED. HE SAID, WELL THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THAT MANUFACTURER. HE TOLD ME THE DAY BEFORE TO BUY THEM!
