I hired Extreme Solutions in September/October 2015 to complete several projects around my former main residence to prepare the property for the rental market. Most of the work was accomplished in an acceptable manner - after a pretty lengthy punch list was completed and 3-4 more visits to correct the many issues that remained from their initial work. I was a bit taken aback by the poor workmanship with a few items but they finally made everything OK; or so I thought. The one item I am writing about today is the replacement of a leaky skylight in a bathroom. As part of my total invoice of over $14,000 I was charge $825 for materials and labor to replace said skylight. Fast forward to the present, the skylight has another leak. I called Todd from Xtreme Solutions on 3 occasions and left a voicemail but he never returned my calls. I'm pretty sure it was outside of any warranty period they may have had because it had been about 18 months, but thought he would discount the repair of the skylight they installed. I've hired another professional to repair the skylight again. This is another contractor who has performed great work for me in the past. He stated, "Whoever installed your skylight at best did a handyman special job. First off, you can buy the skylight they installed for $39.99, it's junk. The shingles were run 3-8' out on either side and at least 2-3' above the skylight. At this point I guess they gave up on ripping the existing shingles and just went with it. Shingles at tie-in area to their repair are torn and ripped with their shingles stuffed underneath. Very poor workmanship." So, there you have it. Now I am forced to pay for another replacement of a skylight 18 months after Xtreme Solutions replaced it and did such a poor job. I would never, ever hire this company in the future. Not even to put up a new mailbox.
