They did a great job. They were punctual, friendly and professional. They were extremely knowledgeable. The room was an attic space that was converted to a living space. They really knew what they were doing.

AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!! I contacted a few contractors before calling Lyke's. Tony called me back the day I contacted him and was able to schedule a visit to quote the job. I felt extremely comfortable talking to him and he made the entire process very easy. I explained to him that quality was my main concern, and that I didn't want him to rush. You can really tell that is the only way they will do it. In the end my house got a major renovation and the knockdown ceiling gave the house a big upgrade! New, Fresh, and Clean! If it's quality you want these are your guys!!!

I had a small renovation project in my living space where I took out a fireplace to open up the corner of my living area. I'd already hung up the sheet rock and started taping and mudding the joints. Not all the joints were lined up nice and tight though so after my first try at mudding and taping, it didn't look so great. I knew it was going to look awful if I continued so I looked here for some professional help. Spoke to Tony over the phone about what I needed and he had someone come by that night to look at it. The next day I got a call from Tony saying that he could get the job done within a few hours and for a couple hundred bucks. He had an open spot on his schedule the following day so I jumped on that as fast as possible. I was so ready to get this done and over with so I didn't have to look at it anymore. It was a Friday morning and Greg showed up on time and ready to work. He was efficient and made it look easy. He cleaned up really well afterwards. He's really great at his craft and made the whole thing look smooth and left it ready to paint. Thanks guys, really pleased with the results!!

It went okay, very good , yeah. The only thing is they put my house on host and tried to repair it, they repaired and I haven't heard from them since so that was the only thing, the overall, the job was good. I had actually about four or five different people for that and with the discount that they gave me being an Angie's list member, they were actually the cheapest. They spoiled the house and they didn't really crack around from the ceiling to the wall though they left a lot of gaps in between and I had to go back and crack and they left I don't know if it's the plastic or the knocked down ceiling or the knocked down material on the walls so I had to go and crip all that, so I mean the work is done I have a dropped ceiling, I never have prop ceiling any more you know that's okay and it's a little bit thicker, if it was a drop and up ceiling that I would have preferred but I don't have prop any more and they were the cheapest so... I mean, he was good to work with, he was very responsive in the beginning to get my job but then at the end, like I said I haven't heard from them, he wasn't adequate and I had to but a new horse and I would like to get it universed but I have not heard from them yet and that was last week. He would tell me that they would show up at 9:00 then they would show up at like 10:30, it didn't matter because I wasn't here, but it was done.

I'm really disappointed with this guy. I contacted Mr Lykes around mid June and ask if he could give me an estimate on my ceilings. At the time he was working a job and told me it would about a week. I decided to wait because he had a good rating and I figured it would be worth the wait.. Well, at the end of the week I contacted him and he told me he need a few more days because he was still working the other job. I waited a few days contacted him again and he told me his trailer had a flat and he was unable to make it by and he would contact me. I never heard from him after that conversation. Maybe it was a good thing because, I contacted Orange Park drywall, got my estimate and contracted them to do the job. Excellent work too!

TOTALLY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! I bought a home that needed renovation including a new roof and a new ceiling in one bedroom where the roof had leaked substantially with about 1/4 of the ceiling sagging. I called quite a few companies, and most of them would not take on the job of repairing the ceiling with the stipple pattern because they were not confident in their ability to do it. They said they had been unable to satisfy clients in the past before with a good pattern match, and so they would only do a knockdown ceiling texture. That was not going to match the rest of the house, and so I kept calling. I did find someone else that was willing to do stipple, but he was planning on replacing the part of the ceiling that was sagging, and then retexturing only that part of the ceiling in the room and expecting me to be satisfied with what he said would not be a perfect match. The owner of Lykes came out to give me an estimate and felt totally confident in his ability to match the stipple pattern, and his solution was to replace the part of the ceiling that was sagging, and then simply retexture the entire bedroom ceiling so that it would be consistent throughout the room. His price was very reasonable at $500 and he got me on his schedule within about a week. It took about eight hours to complete and was finished today. The ceiling looks GREAT and is a wonderful match to the stipple pattern throughout the rest of the house. THESE GUYS KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING, AND THEY DO IT AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE.

They provided great communication from the time I contacted them. Greg gave the estimate, but I forgot to show him the closet. However when we got this cleared up, they hung the drywall, taped and mudded in a day. Tony came back to sand and clean up. They were clean, fast, good and reasonably priced. I would definitely call them again for drywall.

Very talented. Did quality job at a fair price. Hairline cracks in 13 foot ceiling posed the possibility that patch would not match rest of ceiling in color and texture without full ceiling repainting. Their experience paid off and the patches were a perfect match.

Was very responsive, fairly priced, professional, and job done to my satisfaction. When I had an accident that damage a large piece, tony was able to find time to have one of his guys come do a repair for me.

I scheduled an appt with Antonio to give me an estimate. From prior reviews posted on Angie's list, he seemed to be reliable. He came out and looked at area that needed work done. He said he was working another job the next few days and would drop off sample board of double knock down texture or I could "google it". The current texture is not double knock down or popcorn and I want the texture replicated if possible. He said they could redo ceilings in whole house even though work requested was only in 4 rooms. This was before Thanksgiving. With the holiday, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and called him a week later. After playing telephone tag for a few days, he finally reached me. Gave me quote over phone on 12/5, I asked him to send it in writing to ensure what was included. He asked if he had gotten my email address and I told him "no". I provided the information and he said to give him until Monday. If he could not replicate the texture or come close he should be up-front and tell me, I would appreciate the honesty. He never provided estimate in writing, never contacted me via phone or message board (which he contacted me by to remind me of appt). No follow through - not good for business reputation.

I met with a representative from Lyke's on 11/24/14 and agreed to go forward with some drywall work to be performed on 12/8/14. I called Tony on Monday morning12/8 to confirm the start of the project that day. He told me that they would not be able to start the job because they were behind on their schedule due to 2 employees calling in sick but he would call me in the next couple of days, Tuesday or Wednesday, and let me know when they could reschedule the work. I did not hear from them in the next 3 full days, so I called and left a message on Thursday night asking for a reply call to let me know when they could reschedule the work. Three more days passed without hearing from them, so I called on Monday 12/15 and left a message expressing my displeasure with their lack of communication and customer service and would appreciate a call to let me know if they intended to reschedule the work or not. Either way, I would like a call from them. It is now Wednesday 12/17 and I still have had no communication from Tony or any representative from Lyke's Drywall Services. I have now wasted 3 weeks waiting on Lyke's to perform work they agreed to do. At a point in time when customer service and communication is at a premium, this type of treatment of a client is unacceptable. I will not be using them or referring them to anyone.

Greg came to estimate the job and while he was here we asked him to look at areas other than the garage and laundry room that needed work. The additional work involved drywall next to the tubs which was water damaged from the shower and was difficult to assess. Tony was willing to do the work and quoted us a very fair price. It came out great and we were very happy. Tony and Chris had the garage ceiling repaired in 2 1/2 days and it looks perfect. We also needed work on the outside ceilings which had gotten damaged from pressure washing and the weather. Since they replaced the exterior board, this required removing an outside ceiling fan and light fixtures. Knockdown was also applied so that both outside ceilings look great and new again. Gabriel came back to reinstall the fan. We highly recommend Lykes Drywall and are very satisfied with the professional work and the fair price.

Tony and his crew were courteous, respectful and punctual. Considering the size of the job...I was impressed with the creative prep work and lack of mess to clean up after. My husband said that Tony is a perfectionist. In the ten years we have been together I have never know him to say this about anyone's work but his own lol. The garage was tricky to do and we appreciate the above and beyond attention paid to this area. We love our new ceilings and would highly recommend this company!

Tony Lyke did an excellent job. Both walls were extended exactly as we wanted. One wall was extended so that it touched the ceiling, This was a tricky job from we had heard from other people. Tony did a great job. He was very efficient, professional and had reasonable price. He knew what he was doing.

Tony and his crew were professional and courteous. The team cleaned up well after themselves and the finished product looks great 6 months later. Pricing was competitive and although you can find cheaper contractors out there you get what you pay for. Tony's price is reasonable and his crew is professional and provided a high quality installation. They were in and out quickly with no problems.

Extremely efficient and clean. Drywall is dirty and dusty work, and even though our remodel was our master bath, the master bedroom was never dirty. Very close attention to details and even came out an extra time to make sure everything had dried correctly for the ceiling. All the walls closets, and ceiling came out perfect. Will definitely use on future projects.

Estimate was after hours to meet my availability. Showed up on time and work was done very professionally. Looks very good and blends in with existing drywall . Exceeded expectation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was responsive, timely and personable. We didn't use him for services because we went with a general contractor vs. hiring each individual needed to complete the full job. Given his professionalism, we would call again.

Very responsive to my request for an estimate. Work done was done in a professional manner in the time estimated for the job. What I was disappointed with was that I apparently did not know the right questions to ask and was not completely satisfied. For example, the estimator told me the workers would remove finishing pieces of wood around the existing acoustic tiles. I thought that meant that they would put them back up. Wrong! I was told that it would take a finish carpenter to do that work. I just wish I had ben told everything before the job started. It is probably my fault because I made assumptions - you take something down to do a job so you should put it back up. Despite the miscommunication, I was very satisfied with the work that was done and would ask them to come back again. I would just ask a million questions before signing up to have any work done.

This was unfortunate because I was looking forward to Tony's work given ALL the positive feedback he's received. This could very well have been an anomaly and most likely does not respresent Tony's quality of work or professionalism. However, I believe I could have been notified in advance or at least a day before the scheduled appointment given that his two guys called out the day before. Also, I would imagine Tony knew he would be in another state: Tony was in Brunswick, GA while I am in Jacksonville, FL. Scheduling an appointment means you are committed to meeting. Emergencies happen - I get that. The issue for me was that I had to get special permission to take time off, I had to leave work early, and my time was not respected. Tony, I pay for a subscription from Angie's List to get reputable services for reliable, trustworthy, and professional providers. As I said in the beginning, I was looking forward to your workmanship given all the positive reviews. Let's hope this is a one-time event and our paths can cross again in the near future.
