Neligan Construction & Roofing LLC

We first contacted them in December of 2011. As of July 2012 we have still not got a completed project. They did apparantly perform some of the work (windows) and other jobs they did not complete in good order nor with satisfactory workmanship. Also after the fact we have learned that they may have neglected to pull a permit for the structural work they did (window) although they represent that no permit was necessary or due diligence indicates otherwise. The back door they were to repair let more water in after the repair than before. We have photos of areas taken by a realtor indicating some of their work was sub par and/or we may have been billed for items not completed. We have paid the first invoice we received in full. The 2nd invoice will continue to go unpaid until the dispute on quality is remedied. Our written contract specified all work was to be completed in 30 days and that before and after photos were to be submitted to us since we are out of state landlords and the tenant would not be appropriate to verify work. After 7 months of phone calls and coaching the work is still not completed and the contract definately was not fulfilled. They are 'nice' on the phone though. We simply can't depend on "NICE" on the phone. We needed the work done right and as agreed in the contract with photos. We have hired a new contractor to finish/fix the door and to begin the other loose ends. We will rate them also. We simply cannot recommend this group. Perhaps if we were in town and could have babysat the whole process we would be reporting differently. But we think adults who have contractors businesses should conduct themselves to a higher quality standard than this!

Dave came to repair a roof leak that had been present for about 2-3 years (unbeknownst to as, as we only bought the house 10 months ago) as well as two 2x4 pieces of wood that had rotted from the roof leak. He was the only person who recommended i remove the moldy rotten wood and recognized the issue of allowing mold and rotten wood to remain in an area just off my child's bedroom. I wanted it out of there as well, and appreciated his extra effort. He did the work himself in about 2 hours, removed rotten ply wood on the roof and shingles as well. He also spotted a leak I hadn't seen and caulked the leaky window. He didn't mention replacing insulation when he gave me his estimate, so I asked about when he came to do the roof work, and said he could do that but for about $200, seemed rather pricey to me for a small strip of insulation so I am having that work done by someone else for $75. Overall happy with his promptness and ease in finding our leak and recommended rememdies.

The estimate was quick, but detailed and made easy to understand. Everything that we agreed to was placed in writing. The prices that were quoted during the estimate were exactly how the billing/invoice read. The chimney removal, roof removal/replacement and venting system installation were done extremely well. Although the workmen did place sheeting over the grass and shrubs around the house to catch falling nails and such, I found an excessive number of nails and cigarette butts left in my yard. I did make the head of the company, Brian Neligan, aware of this and he stated the issue would be addressed immediately with the team that did the work - he apologized for any inconvenience and offered to send out a secondary team (with magnet sweepers) to ensure that the cleanup was properly done. Although disappointed with the initial cleanup, I would like to give a BIG KUDOS to some members of their staff that went above and beyond. Approximately a week after the work was done I arrived home to find the back door of my home had been smashed in during an invasion. Not having dealt with a situation like this before, and not being very mechanically inclinded, I was distressed as to how I was going to get my house closed back up for the night. By a stroke of luck, while I was starting to clean up the mess, a technician from Neligan's called to see if they could stop by for a final roof inspection. I advised them what had just happened and they immediately came over to seal the back entrance of my home, until I could get it repaired. This was by no means anything they were obligated to do, but I feel it does reflect that should you have any concern(s) or other items that need to be addressed that Neligan's is more than willing to assist. I can't thank them enough for their assistance in my time of need.

Excellent response time. Called and they got out same day and fixed problem.

What was really good about them was that they wouldn't even take a deposit until the work was done. They did an excellent job. They were quick; they cleaned up after themselves.

Went well. Fair price and responded on schedule. Now redoing entire roof of my next door neighbor based on our suggestion and her insurance company high rating. Location of work was Sawgrass Players Club, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl.

Mr Brian Neligan did everything they said they would do. This was an extensive job. My house is approximately 2,400 square feet and the roof surface is huge with a large pitch (very steep roof). The man sat at my table while giving me a quote and said that if anything is damaged during construction, it will be repaired. If the driveway is cracked during delivery of the heavy roofing materials it will be repaired, etc. Everyone was quite polite from the estimator to the men who were doing the work. EVERYONE ACTUALLY SPOKE ENGLISH!!! NO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS!! The workers combed the yard for nails. All debris was taken away. The driveway was cracked during delivery. THE DRIVEWAY WAS FIXED! A couple other minor issues I had were fixed. The job actually looks great. They do everything from carpentry to tub enclosures. I would use this company again.

I was very pleased with this company. Responded quickly to my request and performed services the next day. The thing that impressed me the most was that roofer did not try to sell me a new roof, etc., but just performed services in an efficient and professional manner. I will not hesitate to use this company again, and have recommended them to my family and friends.

Very good, Gave us an estimate and did the work the same day. Came back later in the day at no extra charge until the roof dried out to make the repairs. The repair person (Will) was very professional and pleasant to deal with.

They were really prompt and and honest with giving us the best options. They had several references. They are not the cheapest but I feel they have the best quality. I will use their services in the future.

The workers were very professional and got the job done as scheduled. I had previously used them for a repair job in the past and was pleased.

The started like gang busters and they slow down in the middle. It took them over a week to do the job, but they quoted 3 days and the weather was good so that was not the issue

We received several estimates which ranged from a minor repair to a major job. Brian inspected the job and gave us a very reasonable estimate. The work was scheduled for Tuesday of the following week. On Monday, he confirmed the time his crew would arrive. The workers were punctual and the job was done within 2 1/2days with all debris removed. The crew was exceptional. We were very pleased. There were no surprises and everything went according to schedule. We definitely will be using Neligan Contractors in the future. Small jobs are just as important as big ones.

We had a great experience with Neligan construction. I asked for roof replacement quotes from 5 contractors. Of them, two stood out. Brian was very knowledgeable on roofing older homes -- a key requirement for us. He knew how to address areas where we have had some leaks. He uses Certainteed roofing, which was a plus for us. Finally, the quote was competitive, and he requires payment only after the work is complete. After accepting Brian's bid, replacing the roofs on our two adjacent homes was scheduled for about two weeks later. His office staff was courteous and took care of the neighborhood approval. The crew started work on time and took the amount of time estimated. Clean-up was good, with only a few remnants around after they finished. Brian warned me that older homes sometimes need a lot of new decking, and these houses certainly did. Over a point, additional wood means additional cost. This ran the finished cost over the estimate, but it was expected and not out of line. We love out new roofs. We highly recommend Neligan construction to those seeking roof replacement or repair.

They were on time, professional and courteous. It was a great company and I would highly recommend them. The price was very fair for what I got. They were terrific and I can't recommend them highly enough. I absolutely would use them again.

We are very pleased with our new roof. Everyone working with Neligan was professional and polite. The work was completed within the time estimated. Brian Neligan provided us with the wind mitagation forms for our insurance company. Neligan indicated that if there were any issues to call and they would fix any problems. We had one situation with our gutters and deflecting the rain from the roof that was handled immediately. They even painted the rain deflectors to match our trim!

Nelligan construction called back within 24 hours and scheduled an appt. The professionalism, response and punctuality were great. The owner responded promptly to any calls or questions during the process. There was a small in delay in the start day due to weather. There was a mishap during the experience but the company through its professionalism and integrity took care of it tenfold. I would recommend this company to others

He was very nice and came over immediately. He had the work done quickly. He did have to come back because they didn't have the right color of tile but they got it done and I didn't even know they were there. The workers did a really good job. Once hurricane season is over, we will probably have them put a new roof on the house.

They were pretty prompt and professional. Their pricing was really good. I rate them high overall.

We called and asked the company to provide a quote for replacing our roofing and some decayed wood under the siding at the back of our house. The company representative came to our house with in a few days after. He gave us samples of the materials he proposed to use. He provided copies of the appropriate licenses without us asking. This company offered the lowest of 3 bids. The quote included pricing for replacing damage that was not visible before the work began. There was no delay in scheduling the work after we decided to use this company. The company took several before and after pictures. The shingles and vents were installed in a timely manner, and the site was cleared of debris. The company installed an improved design for the connection between the roof of the house and the roof of the porch. There was a delay of about a week between the time the bulk of the work was done and when they came back to complete some of the work around the skylight. We asked for more of the pictures to send to the insurance company. That took about another week. The company did not request payment until all the work was complete.

Using Angie's List and the BBB we narrowed our list of potential roofing companies to five companies and asked for estimates from each. All were very close in price and we learned something from all of them, but Brian Neligan stood out because he noted things that should have been addressed by all of them. He was able to point out other things because they do more than just roofs, and he made adjustments to our gutters for free. His crew showed up on time and worked late if needed and we are very satisfied with the work. The crew worked hard in the June heat, and they had to deal with smokey conditions brought about by nearby wildfires, but they didn't seem phased by it at all. The entire crew from laborer to owner are polite and are determined to make the home owner happy. I would recommend Neligan Construction & Roofing to friends and family.

The job was completed in 4 days. All went well.
