Julington Creek Pest Control

I’ve had this company for years and have been good. Now I have dead grass, large bare spots (chinch bug damage) and weeds. Either they have new inexperienced help or they’re cutting corners on the amount of products they use. I’ll now need to replace large areas with sod after spending about $80 per month treatment, that was supposed to prevent the damage. I’ll invite the tech to help me. If he has a little skin in the game, maybe he’ll do his job correctly. I have pictures, but didn’t see a way to upload them.

I have dead spots all over the yard due to chinch bugs. It’s like they wait until you tell them where the dead spots are and then they treat it (TOO LATE, ALREADY DEAD). Then they take no responsibility. I’m at the point where I need to go get something and do it myself, before I lose the entire lawn. Now, why am I paying them so much for nothing.

I am truly heartbroken on what happened to my lawn. Please don't let this happen to you. Unfortunately, it happened to me. My lawn was immaculate in July. After multiple visits, treatments, 2 visits from Steve the supervisor and Jordan the manager my lawn got progressively worse. I went from having a fungus, weeds (4 different kinds) and now chinch bugs. Someone had no idea what they were doing!! I did what they said and put black cow down . They wanted me to plug my lawn. They have refused to offer any compensation towards partial replacement of my lawn. They offered to move my regular service of $80 to get treatment again right now. They offered nothing free. I know things happen but when you pay for a lawn service you have some expectations. So now I need to resod!!! Do not use them!Folks, please don't let this happen to you.

I had two homes serviced by Julington Creek. Both homes ended up with dead grass and cinch bug damage due to poor service technicians and management. They have a high turn over. I had 3 different technicians in a 6 month period. (Your services performed are only as good as the person applying the product and understanding what problems may arise.) They seem to play "catch-up" rather than foreseeing problems. Disaster in the making! When I called in to the office numerous times, I received a phone call back from the wife of the company (not the husband with the experience) telling me that I was wrong and that they would not send the owner out to either house all the damage. Do not hire this company! Plenty of other options for great service. I now have the most damaged lawn in the neighborhood and it will cost me $1000's to repair the damage. The pictures represent only one area of my lawn. There are other numerous areas.

This provider has been handling my lawn care for five years although at first it was rough going due to nutsedge and crabgrass and that the property was in a starter community. The provider has done a very good job in lawn care and I hope to continue to use their services for many years.

Don't trust them! Julington Creek Pest Control quoted me $75 + 40 start-up but when I tried to activate service Heather declined my request saying I Did Not have a quote. I called several times and emailed her their written quote - and eventually, after insinuating that I was lying - they came back and agreed to do my service for $90 + 45 start-up... Why is the same tiny yard now costing an extra $15 per month? If they mistreat customers before I start, why do business with them? There are too many other good reputable companies that would appreciate and care for your patronage.

Fungus is almost gone. Future treatments should eliminate this problem. Fall fertilization seems to have helped the overall health of the yard.

I would warn you to avoid this pest control company. I used Julington for 4 months, and initially called them due to chinch bug damage. While they initially killed the chinch bugs after several treatments and re-treatments, after about 3 months I started to see more dead spots in a different area of my lawn. Bruce, my technician, did not think the issue was due to chinch bugs, and tried everything to address the problem, including fertilizer, insecticide, fungicide and herbicide, but the problem continued and got worse. When I called their office, the girl who answers the phone tried to tell me that while she couldn't diagnose my problem over the phone, she then proceeded to tell me that since I had chinch bugs in the past, they were probably the reason why I had dead patches. I asked the owner to call me, and when he did (I think he said his name is Jim), he also told me that I had a past history of chinch bugs, that dead patches were a normal result, and that chinch bugs are what keep them in business! Rather than asking what my concerns were, or offering to come look at my lawn, he quoted all of the times they had serviced my lawn. Since it was clear he was not interested in resolving my issue, I told him to discontinue my service. I would think after 4 months, they could control any chinch bug or other issues so that my lawn looked healthy, but it actually looks worse now than before I used them. Rude owner, bad results (although Bruce was a really nice technician) - don't use them.

We have used them for 6 month. Lawn looks great. Very responsive to any concerns. Great communication with tech and office.

To be honest, I let their bad service go on far too long. Not only have they continued to not really do what's necessary for the lawn, they basically say they are not to blame for anything that goes wrong with my lawn even when presented with evidence. I've had dead spot show up routinely and hey continued to assert it was lack of water when it's rained everyday for two weeks. I really like using local business but I would advise to not use them.

Have used this family operated business for two years and pleased overall. The service is done in a timely manner and treated in a professional manner. The office staff is very helpful and the tech respond to my concerns within 48 hours. A couple of weeks ago I had a company put sod in and my tech was very helpful in being sure that the sod had a good start. I have had many companies in the past after doing my lawn for 30 years but maintaining a nice yard was becoming more expense and here in Jacksonville with the insects and weeds especially nut sedge and crabgrass . I only ask for a company to give good service and have the knowledge to use the right products and at the right time. When it comes to yards its impossible to please everyone and it does take some effort on the homeowners part to be proactive. My daughter presently uses their service and is also pleased especially living in a gated community. I hope to have this service for some time and hope they will continue to service my yard well.

Julington Creek has been treating my property for two years with good results a couple of weeks ago while my daughter and son in law was on vacation I had noticed some area that appeared to be chinch bugs. I called for someone to stop by check for problems. The company started the treatment timely to avoid any more damage. I have used a number of companies and have found Julington Creek to be very professional and responded to calls in a very timely manner.

We were a customer for approximately 1 year. The first 9 months went OK, we had a healthy and green yard. But over the past 3 months (summer of 2015) the service went downhill drastically. It started with them burning the yard (tip burn), leaving brown areas throughout. It took them 3 days after my calls to come out and check on this, and thankfully the lawn seemed to recover. But not long after that we had both sod web worm and cinch bug infestations in the back yard. They showed up 2 weeks late for my scheduled service to treat for this (and only after I called). Furthermore, the technician told me I had "dry grass" and merely needed to water my lawn in the cinch bug areas, even though it had been raining every afternoon for weeks! I had to research and diagnose the problem myself-- I literally showed him the cinch bugs in the grass when he came back for a follow up. Now I'm left with several dead areas in my back yard. I've since had quotes from several other service providers, who couldn't believe the damage. I've hired someone else to stop the bleeding, but I will need to replace a portion of my back yard with new sod at this point. I would highly recommend NOT selecting Julington Creek Pest Control for lawn service.

.The company owner showed up for the initial review of my lawn. Mr. Jim was very informative and spent a good amount of time explaining his company special services and educated me about the issues i'm facing with my lawn. He was a great salesman and that was the last I saw of him or heard from him. - They came for the 1st session as agreed. - I tried to contact them two weeks after the initial lawn treatment to inform them that I found more Chinich bugs. There was no answer and I left them a message. One week passed and no one called me back. I called again and spoke with a lady and informed her about the problem. I also asked her to have Mr. Jim call me back as i'm not pleased with the service so far. As of yet, I have not heard back from Mr. Jim. - The next day JC pest control truck showed up at my house. A person spent no more then 2-4 minutes and left me a note stating that I need to water my lawn even if there was rain. - The problem was not addressed and the rest of my lawn has gone brown. - The agreement was they show up every six weeks. No one showed up or contacted me. I had received quotes from two other local companies, but I choose JC Pest as I was impressed with the owner visit and vast info he gave me. Big mistake, good salesman, worst service company I have ever dealt with. ***Sep. 8, 2015*** I just received a phone call, at 5:38 PM, from Mr. Jim and he was yelling and screaming about my review above and that Angies list notified him of today. He called me a liar and told me that I have an ugly yard anyways, then hung up the phone in my face.

They are FANTASTIC!! They are professional and prompt. They also do in between maintenance if needed.

They are fantastic! They are very responsive, especially if you have any issues. They are always available by phone.

They come and do what they say they are going to do but the yard has just not looked good. I have called them to come in between scheduled dates and I have a feeling of imposing. The grass never really got as green as my surrounding neighbors and I am usually told to be patient or I am in the shade but my neighbors are in the shade. They used to call me before they came but lately they have not been calling but they do come once a month as we agreed. They are not bad by any means but $75.00 is a little expensive and for that amount of money I expect a green lawn and I don't have them.

We used another service last year and into January of this year. Due to poor quality, we decided to try JCPC since they had good reviews on this site. The owner came out and walked the property with me to get my feedback on the problem areas. He discussed their treatments and service procedures of calling the night before to give the homeowner a heads-up and ringing the doorbell to let the owner know someone would be on their property. So far all has gone well and the grass is looking great. On one of their day-before calls, I told him the lawn was being cut the next day and he suggested they come by the following day to ensure good chemical contact time with the grass. He did not want the chemicals to be applied and have it mowed off later in the day. On another occasion, I was concerned about a few brown spots in the lawn. They came by within 48 hours, looked at the lawn and left a detailed analysis. I called them later and they thoroughly explained the situation which turned out to be some frost damage. Overall, I am happy with the service to date.

They were both professional. They did a really nice job. I was happy with the input and feedback. I hired them to do my yard services after the good experience.

They know what they are doing----very professional----they use granular and more expensive fertilizer comparred to others who I havef found generallly spray and seem to have a set number of lawns to treat in a specified time usually with different operators.
