When the first plumber came out, he confirmed that we needed a new water heater and that he would be back on Monday between 12n-4pm but closer to noon. As that time came and went, we checked back with the company who had our service scheduled for Wednesday instead. Normally, we wouldn't have cared about the delay but we had already been without water for 6 days in order to minimize the leaking. The company made arrangements and another plumber showed up that afternoon. He did an AMAZING job!! We would definitely us R Carr Plumbing again!!

I want to thank Tom again for his patience with my plumbing situation. I was in a bind and needed valves changed for my washer and this company was recommended. I called and was told they were booked up for 3 weeks. However, he had job nearby and fit me in. When the washer was delivered, I learned the company would replace the valves free of charge. I called back and Tom not only understood he stayed on the phone and discussed other possible concerns. I had already gotten quotes twice as high as this company. He had no vested interest and I know he was busy. He still helped. I appreciate his kindness and patience. Thanks again Tom

R. Carr Plumbing is the most professional, thorough and honest company I have had the pleasure of working with while going through a complete kitchen remodeling. The company stands behind its word and truly embraces service excellence. The service manager, Walter, is a phenomenal representative for this organization. He is extremely thorough and his customer relation skills are amazing. I am most impressed with the honesty and integrity of this company. While they could have been dishonest and taken advantage of a situation, they have been upfront, fair, honest, and gone above any expectation for service and customer satisfaction. Install was done correctly however did a very messy job of caulking around the base and general clean up was lacking. The caulking that was not even necessary. I had to remove the mess that was left.

Had Carr out about a year and a half before starting project to 'bid' and they were good enough to 'update' bid prices over the phone so that I could compare w/ other companies vying for the work. They also referred three electricians, all of whom were good 'leads', two of whom were extremely professional and helpful in their bidding the electrical aspect. I'm particularly grateful that D'Andrea Electric insisted we contact TECO before installing TruTankless!!! We could have cut through months of 'B.S.' had the second plumbing company been as upfront about the very real possibility that our amperage wasn't sufficient to the power surge of a Tankless system! Even when we were about to go w/ Tankless, Carr gave us another excellent referral of FWT to install the water softener at less cost than Kielty had been quoting. It was with almost relief that we finally realized Carr's bid for the hybrid we ended up going with instead was (most) reasonable so that we gave both the work of putting in the water heater AND the water softener to them. Carr came out as quickly as they could (after months of being in limbo, we were up against holiday/travel plans) and installed both systems in one morning. When the county called for additional 'venting' to clear the permit, Chuck, our installation fellow was 'on it' immediately. It's always nice to have the permit inspectors say, '_____, good company!' as they did when they heard Carr had done both installations. We feel fairly confident that we'll have years of service from both the Rheem and the Fleck system or if there are future problems, Carr will stand behind us through any warranty 'issues'.

Went very smooth. Kelly called and let me know he was on the way and arrived at the time they indicated he would be there. He replaced both toilets and replaced the kitchen faucet in a very timely manner. I was very pleased with the quality of the work.

Not well . I called them and they were to busy to come out but yet could come out after hours at 150.00 an hour.

these guys did amazing work, very professional! the crew was organized, knowledgeable, and kept the job site clean. They worked with me to choose the best areas to cut drywall and access the locations they needed to without going too crazy. Price was by far the best and I feel like the work was also well above average. Important note is that they actually adjusted their estimate to a lower price based on the actual amount of work done and how long it took them. Very honest plumbers!

Steven did a great job. Repair of one toilet, purchased a new toilet for second bathroom and installed new faucet.Tom office was very helpful with all my questions and I had a few.The job was done when scheduled and on time. Steven was very clean and things are working well.Thanks!

Piece of cake. Mike adjusted the water level - was too low - and cleared the flush vents. He was done in half an hour. Mike was friendly and most professional.

Excellent. I was referred to Carr by a colleague at work and I am very satisfied. So far it's only been for small, uncomplicated jobs but based on their performance and reliability I will not hesitate to hire them for larger jobs.

Needed plumber to install toilets I bought myself. Hard to find one who would do that, as most want you to buy the units through them. Was recommended to R Carr Plumbing by ATi Services of Tampa Bay (handyman/general contractor). Chris Walters came to the do the installation, and was prompt, professional, and did a great job. Price was more than fair. Would not hesitate to use R Carr Plumbing again. They are now my go to contractor for all things plumbing!

We found R Carr after referrals from neighbors after much frustration working with another BIG name local plumbing company. R Carr renewed our faith in the plumbing industry!! They sent their service manager Greg out to evaluate the situation and the work the other plumbers had performed and the additional work they were suggesting be done. Greg removed our master bath toilet (our main entry point issue), and put his camera down the pipe to see for himself what the pipe looked like and if it really needed to be replaced. He said there was no way to tell until it was jetted. He scheduled the jetting to be done in a few days. This past Thursday: the jetting was performed by IFIND LEAKS. The pipe was recameraed and looked good - clean, no cracks. R Carr sent tech Justin out at the same time. Justin was super professional and polite,. He jack-hammered the floor, cleaned out some old bedet piping under the flooring, installed proper piping connection, installed a new toilet we purchased with proper flange connection, and recemented the floor. All from 8:30am to 2:30pm - VIOLA! we were in business in 1 week after hiring R Carr. We'd been working with the other plumbing company for 3 months. I can't say enough good things about R. Carr. I highly recommend this company to you and they are the only plumbers in St. Pete we will use from now on.

The service went smoothly, the plumber was competent and polite. The office called and told us when he would be arriving and he did. No complaints. I would definitely use them again.

It went great! We called on a Monday, and they set an appointment for early the next morning. The plumber was punctual and got to work right away locating the leak and fixing the issue. The price was quite fair. He accepted the Angie's List coupon, no problem. We were very pleased!

I think one of the hallmarks of a premiere small business is that they deliver superior quality and value, time after time. David was running a bit behind schedule, but given his friendly competence upon arrival and his resulting excellent work, including successfully befriending my bipolar Chihuahua at no extra charge, I have to give him the highest marks across the board. And this has been my consistent experience with R Carr, going on close to five years now--reasonable estimates with the actual bill coming in below the estimate, friendly customer service and consistent technical expertise. I have mixed feelings about posting this review, because I think they are a remarkable find that I want to keep to myself, but in the spirit of Angie's List crowd-sourcing, I feel obliged to share the good news.

We obtained four quotes from highly rated plumbing companies for this job and there was a 25% difference between the high and low quotes. So, it pays to do your homework. We have a double trussed house for a tile roof, so there is very limited space in the attic. It's very hot up there in July and we marveled that they could do the amount of work they did in the cramped adverse conditions they had to work in. I can't say enough good things about R. Carr. These guys were great. Other than the inconvenience of the length of the job, everything went smoothly. We had two plumbers, Walt and Joe, who were easy to be around, professional and very competent. Greg, their service manager, came up with much less intrusive ways to enter the house and had better ideas on how to run the piping to minimize repair work to drywall. Joe and Walt piggy backed on his ideas and had even more ideas on how to make this job less intrusive. If you're considering having this done, it makes a huge difference how they run the piping. It determines how much repair work you'll have to do after they leave. Make sure you understand where they will enter into the house and where the pipes will run down the walls into cabinets, etc. The inspector had nothing negative to say about their job and was very complimentary of the work they did. It's been a few weeks since the work was completed and nothing is leaking. There is a little bit more noise when toilets refill (pipes are in the walls, not in the slab), but you cannot hear water running through the pipes in the attic. Overall, we're very happy with the job they did and can highly recommend this company to you.

BEYOND PHENOMENAL!! R. Carr Plumbing was the third plumber I called. I had received two other estimates from other plumbers but somehow the estimates seemed so different, as each recommended a different water heater manufacturer with varying sizes at markedly different costs. I was more confused than ever. So I called R. Carr after reading the other Angie's List reviews and also noticing they were very local to where I live. I spoke with Tom who was incredibly knowledgeable. We explored both tank and tankless options. What was nice was that he asked me to take some photos of my existing water heater and email them to him. In just a few minutes he called me and said that I had a power vented gas tank water heater and as such it was more expensive due to the pump (for venting). It was great to get an explanation as to why my tank seemed to be more expensive than my neighbors who had electric tank water heaters. He gave me an estimate right over the phone to replace with a like kind and quality 50 gallon tank. I asked if he could give me an estimate for a tankless and he said he'd have someone come by to do that. Rodney Carr (the owner) came and explained the pros and cons of tankless vs tank heaters and the price differential. Ultimately we decided to go with the tankless. I shared with Rodney what the other companies had quoted and the models. Rodney told me that the first company quoted me the cost of a tankless heater that was not only excessively large for a house of our size, but it also required a recirculating system which was obviously non-existent as there were no recirculating lines showing! So he confirmed what I had thought! The first guy was trying to oversell me and cheat me. (And if I had gone with that first company I would have paid $3,700!) We decided upon the Navien Tankless Water Heater. Walt Smith was our installations person. Walt not only showed up on time, but he was very courteous and skillful. He explained everything he was going to do and how long it would take. Walt did an excellent job. He was meticulous and neat, making sure that he cleaned up everything as he went. He is one of the best installation people that we've had work on our home. What was also very very interesting and reassuring to me as a homeowner, was that during the installation, no less that three other R. Carr employees/managers dropped by to check on Walt to see if there was anything they could do. They even assisted by taking our old water heater away so it was out of the way. I was very impressed by the teamwork the R. Carr group demonstrated. Our garage was left absolutely spotless and we now have a phenomenal new water heater that will never leak again! I am so thrilled that I found R. Carr. It's hard to find good plumbers and I am very thankful to have found them. They are honest, have great integrity and are very very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend using them to anyone who asks me! Thank you Tom, Rodney and Walt Smith! You have a customer for life!

They were very knowledgeable and they corrected items that would come up on the inspection.

Prior to hiring R Carr, we contacted several plumbers for proposals. We contacted R Carr because of a referral from another plumber whom we trust and have used, but was not available for this project. Worked with Greg, initially making contact via email. (Not all plumbers even respond to email contact.) Greg responded promptly, scheduled an appointment, and offered a detailed and competitive proposal for the work. We subsequently signed the work order, and work started as scheduled. During the work, we had to make some adjustments in the work to accommodate an unseen issue. Greg's crew redid a portion of the work, and was still able to compete the project as quoted, and on time. He was committed to make everyone happy, and they did. R Carr went above and beyond for us. I would gladly hire them again if needed.

Excellent work. I had a handyman out to do some of the work, but after he messed up the plumbing and did a bad job installing the vanities, I called R Carr Plumbing instead. They came out and fixed all the problems, then installed the other faucets and appliances. I was very happy with their work. Also, I did tell them I was on a time crunch and needed it done only on April 30. They were able to work me into the schedule. So happy!
