Description of Work: Wanted to up date heating & cooling system from a 15 year old system. Was told they would send an estimate of four ways to up grade system. After waiting 5 days I call the office inquiring if there was a problem. Was advised they would get with the Sales Rep. Now 2 days have gone by & nothing. So! I've got to pass on this company.

We spent over $5000 on their last service. We think the price is very good considering the service that we get from them. We think when we bought our home 10 years ago, they were already doing service with that home and had installed one of the systems at least in that home, and that's how we found them.
Description of Work: We used Wilhelm Heating & Air Conditioning Inc for two things recently. They serviced and repaired a central air system in our home and also installed a central air system in a rental place that we own.

I will call them for any more problems. The staff is very friendly and billing was very easy.
Description of Work: I needed someone to check my air conditioners after they could not cool down. I was under a warranty from another company that did not help. I had 2 units and they both were replaced twice in 3 years. I had purchased my home in 2007 so I knew this was a problem. I called Wilhelm and they confirmed my suspicions of bad drywall. Not only they helped me get my information to get my home looked at, they saved me from throwing my money away. When I called them, they responded the same day and maintained my unit until I was able to get my home fixed. They also have a great warranty program for units after a complete service check.

Yes, we did put a new unit in for Member - twice just to make her happy. She was shopping price and when we went to install the equipment - her father signed the contract for her - exactly what she told us that she wanted on the proposal. After paying for the install, Member decided she really wanted a different unit. I agreed to install the new unit for the difference in the bid. I feel we went out of our way to accommodate the customer and she has her new Carrier unit.

The service technician was on time, thoughtful and professional. Parts were ordered, I was kept informed and they were all wonderful. It works like a charm!
Description of Work: We have an older home with no real attic access for ventilation ducts. Mary Ann and her crew have been super in providing efficient, professional, and prompt sales and service. Do make sure that you have an open mind to hear what new technology is available. We have really benefited from the purchase of the 5star warranty.

The technician was very professional and explained what he found and how he was going to fix it.
Description of Work: We moved into the house a few months earlier. Had problems with A/C circuit breaker blowing. Service technician traced it to a loose circuit breaker attachment and the wrong capacity circuit breaker. I do some electrical work myself and agree that the wrong circuit breaker had been used. He checked all the circuit breakers and tightened the connections on several others, replaced the one for the A/C and tested the system.

I called this AM and due to a cancellation I was given an 11AM appointment. At 10AM I received a call from the serviceman saying he could come early if I was available. Both men were professional, answered my questions in a way a layman would understand and performed the maintenance competently. At my request they explained the service agreement which was a much better value than another company and I purchased. I am very pleased with the service provided by Wilhelm.

I bought a new thermostat and I asked what he put it on and he said it was the wrong one. He said the one I needed was $200.00 and I said forget it. Entirely too expensive. 2-3 days later I went to Home Depot and picked up the correct and exact same thermostat for a cheaper. I called and asked for them to install it. When he came over, he said it was going to be $100.00 just to install it. I wouldn't trust them for the likes of me. The price was outlandish! I did not have them install it.

WE DO NOT PURCHASE OUR THERMOSTATS AT HOME DEPOT AND IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT IT WOULD THE EXACT SAME QUALITY THERMOSTAT THAT WE OFFERED THE CUSTOMER. WE DO CHARGE A FAIR AND COMPETITIVE RATE FOR OUR SERVICES. WE SEND TRAINED PROFESSIONALS TO YOUR HOME TO ENSURE THAT THE JOB IS DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. DURING A ROUTINE MAINTENANCE (DONE FOR THIS CUSTOMER IN 11/08) WE WERE ASKED TO PROVIDE A SERVICE NOT NORMALLY INCLUDED WITH THE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. WE DID TELL HER THAT SHE HAD PURCHASED THE INCORRECT THERMOSTAT FOR HER SYSTEM AND TOLD HER WHAT SHE NEEDED. WE DID NOT OFFER TO COME BACK AND INSTALL IT FOR FREE. IF THE MEMBER EXPECTED A REDUCED CHARGE FOR THE SECOND TRIP, SHE SHOULD HAVE ASKED THE OFFICE STAFF BEFORE SCHEDULING ANOTHER APPOINTMENT IN DECEMBER. WE DO VALUE YOUR BUSINESS AND IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO IT YOURSELF, AT A LESSER COST, IT IS NOT A MATTER OF TRUST, BUT RESPECT. Overall, not well. I called Wilhelm because my previous provider did not return my call in a reasonable amount of time. Wilhelm did respond quickly and did get someone on premise fast. He also did fix the no cool problem (bypassed a defective float switch). However 1) I was told defrost board was defective and needed to be replaced (it was not) 2) I was told evap coil had a leak (he waved his wand over it and it beeped) and it did not. I know these were both false because I waited on both repairs and had another company do the work. He recommended new evap coil or handler and a new defrost board. In the end, I had the coil pulled and cleaned (though it wasn't necessary - the water leak was insulation problem) and there was NOTHING wrong with the defrost board. I am filing this report late because I wanted to be sure. It is 9 months later and I am still running on the same coil and the same defrost board and I have NO water leak and no AC problem. However, the float switch is still wrapped - at least he got that one right. In any event, serious effort to UPSELL here. Not only were unnecessary parts quoted, but also tried to push whole new unit - at minimum air handler.
Description of Work: A/C No cool. Fan not spinning on ext. compressor. Evaluate and repair immediate problem. Provide 2nd opinion on previous A/C recommendation (small water leak) to replace air handler. Scott fixed the immediate problem (when he left, A/C was functional) by bypassing the "float" switch. He also told me that he "wrapped" or bypassed the defrost board which turned out to be false (in order to sell me a new one). He also recommended a new air handler and/or coil on the unit due to my previous (small) water leak.
