+ -1 moreBasically I was charged $600 to fix a simple leak that any handyman probably could have fixed for $80. We had used this service before and not had a problem. I have always thought that they were pricey but did ok work. Well that was because we had Walters workers and not Walter. This time Walter came out to fix a leak and could not find a simple leak. Tore out our wall by mistake and hired his friends at a leak detector company to find the leak at the bottom of the sink. We had to pay them $275 to find the leak that clearly Walter should have been able to find. Then he hires another friend to come and fix the drywall and tells us that he is sending over someone to fix the wall. He never said anything about payment. I felt that he knew that he screwed up and was fixing the wall out of the $200 that he charged us for not finding the leak and ripping out our wall. Only to find out from the drywall guy that Walter told him to get payment from us. We did not pay him because we did not hire him. As far as I am concerned-he was helping fix a mistake for his friend. So we paid $475 to fix a simple leak and was charged $600. Absolutely RIDICULOUS.
Description of Work: We had a leak in the guest bathroom sink. I turned off the shut off valve. Well there were 2 shut off valves and I did not realize it and the leak continued. So we called Walter's Plumbing. He came right out, tore out the wall behind sink and still claimed that he could not find the leak. So he called his friends at a leak detector company and they came over and checked out the house and it turns out the leak is in the pipe underneath the sink. Which means that the wall did not have to be torn out NOR the leak detector guys come out for $275. Then Walter calls another friend to come over and re-plaster the wall that he mistakenly tore out. We assumed that since he made the mistake and he hired his friend to fix his mistake-that he was paying his friend to patch up the wall. We find out after the wall was patched that the drywaller was expecting for us to pay him $125 because that is what Walter told him. So Walter is trying to help all of his friends out by making mistakes and giving his friends work. We told the drywall guy that Walter hired him to fix his mistake and that Walter needs to pay him. Walter charged us $200 to come out and basically tear up our wall and never did fix the leak. Then expected us to pay his friend to fix the wall.

+ 0 moreThey were done with the job in about fifteen minutes. They were good. They were here on time. They were very courteous. It was a good experience. They also guaranteed the work for thirty days. I would use them again in the future and have already recommended to others.
Description of Work: They cleaned out our shower drain.

+ -1 moreMet with "Pete", Walter's employee, whom we had used before. He found that the valve was frozen, so lever could not be removed from inside the shower. He had to access it through an opening in the wall. He covered the opening with a plastic cover, which will allow easy access at some time in the future, if we ever need to replace it again. Pete is friendly, neat and professional. It is a pleasure to work with him. We recommend him highly.
Description of Work: Leaky shower fittings replaced. Plumber had to access valve through opening in wall. Customer supplied hardware.
