Overall, I would hire him again. He was prompt, did a good job for a fair price. He is a one man show. We wanted him to fix a problem with our front door where the stripping at the bottom kept getting pinched in the door when it closed. (He had installed that door a few weeks prior and the flap kept pinching in the door instead of flowing with it.) I think he was trying to pull my leg though because he said that he could not cut the rubber piece down to accomodate the proper close. He said that our brand new beautiful mahogony door would have to be removed and shaved down to accomodate our preference or we would have to slam the door a little to keep it from happening. So, the rubber still pinches in the door today. I would still hire him again anyway though. We love the improvements that installing those doors made to our home.

Kevin arrived when scheduled to estimate the job. With him was a door professional, who measured meticulously and left samples of the hinges and framing. I had a catalog from a door company here or they would have left that, too. Kevin responded with a written estimate about 2 days later and with a list of references. One reference was so emphatically impressed with the quality of the work that we were sold, even though Kevin's estimate was not the lowest. It was in the middle of several estimates we had. When the time came to install the doors, he and a fellow workman, Paul, arrived just when they said they would and worked methodically and carefully through the entire installation. The door installation went smoothly; the only glitch was waiting for hardware from a hardware store, which took almost a month to arrive rather than the 2 business days as promised. But Kevin patiently returned to install, replacing the Schlage door plates with others, as he felt the Schlage did not meet his standards. The doors are beautiful, fit so well, and worth every penny we paid for them.
