He solved the problem with a simple clean out of the condensate line. He also cleaned the filters and did a thorough tuneup.The AC is running beautifully now. The $49 coupon was a fabulous deal!

They did a regular cleanup and checkup and then three days later, the A/C went down. Therefore, I called them back and they came and charged me $200 to get it fixed. They said that something needed to be replaced and I said you guys just came and checked it out, didn't you see there was a problem? They said well, it can happen any time.

Finding Mr. Holmes was, in an of itself, worth the price of Angie's List membership many times over. Our a/c stopped working late on Saturday. It must have been over 90 degrees in the house, and humid as well. I called him about noon on Sunday. He first provided some self help suggestions. When the problem proved to be beyond my ability to diagnose, I called him back and he was here within 60-90 minutes. It was an extremely hot day and he worked diligently to isolate the problem. He eventually determined the cause and fixed it, and the a/c has been working ever since. He charged us an extremely reasonable sum for the service. He also advised that our unit was 14 years old, in deteriorating condition, and would need to be replaced in the near future. He only asked that we give him a chance to compete for our business when we went out for bids for a new unit, and never pressured us to replace it immediately or to buy the unit through him.

It went great. Mr. Holmes was running late, but he kept me informed about it. My A/C was not cooling properly and the pipes were freezing. He quickly determined what the problem was and filled the unit with refrigerant. He checked the valves too. He said that the issue should be solved, but if it happens again, it means the unit has a leak and he has to come again. I had also purchased the A/C tune up, so he did that. What really impressed me is that we had been living with a very loud pump for years and he immediately knew how to make it quiet. He fixed it for us at no charge. It was a very small fix, but it made this company stand out from the others that are just interested in selling you things you don't need and charging ridiculous amounts of money for them. Mr. Holmes doesn't try to sell you things. He is interested in providing the best service and having peole call him again.

Because we were only in town for a few days, I called Bart on a weekend. After I left a message, he promptly returned my call, and after I explained to him that it was not an emergency situation, we set up a time for a weekday. He and his assistant were prompt at checking the A.C. unit for overall efficiency. The unit had not had a maintenance check since it was installed 5 years ago. He refilled the coolant, tested the unit, and charged a reasonable price. He was extremely professional. We would highly recommend him and we will definitely rely on Bart and his company for future services.

Excellent!. Not only did he contact me within 1 hour of purchasing the deal, but he was out in a couple days. He fixed my outside faucet which had been leaking for years and did an inside plumbing inspection. He even fixed one of my water lines that had been switched by the previous plumber. So, he really went above and beyond what he was paid to do. I will have some future plumbing work to do and will not hesitate to call him.

He bent over backwards to help me and didn't overcharge me. He and his assistant took care of me for a nominal fee. He came over and took care of the problem for me that day. He explained a lot about the cleaning of air ducts for me. Bart was excellent. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

The service provided was professional from beginning to end!! The owner, Bart could not have been more accommodating. After arriving, he quickly went to work. After checking that the condenser was working within factory specs, he was then able to diagnosed that the drain line located at the air handled was the obvious culprit. He then went about clearing the drain line and repairing the insulation located inside the air handle (I have had several A/C service techs. I can't recall anyone that had ever bothered to be that detailed!) The drain line seemed to be cleared and Bart proceeded on his merry way. MUCH TO MY SURPRISE, THE DRAIN BEGAN TO LEAK AGAIN! I called Bart (who was barely out of the parking lot), and he immediately returned. After exhaustive measures, he was able to both diagnosed why the drain continued to leak and resolve the matter. This processes took several hours which included him simply waiting to put my mind at ease that the problem had finally been resolved. I am more than pleased with the outcome of this service appointment; and feel confident that I now have a professional that I can depend upon and recommend to others.

The experience was great. Bart really seems to know his stuff and was very willing to assist and advise me about options to improve my system's functioning even further. He also provided me with a very reasonable quote for some of the additional work i'm interested in having done. My boyfriend is a general contractor who often does many projects for me, and Bart even offered to fully explain what needs to be done and how to do it in case we wanted to try to get the issue resolved ourselves and save some money. I really appreciated that from him and will definitely be using Holmes Cooling & Heating again!

Bart Holmes did an excellent job of analyzing our heating and A/C system. He was running a little late but called me several times with updates on his approximate arrival time. He was very pleasant and professional and provided a thorough explanation of what checks he performed on our unit.

Everything went well...Bart came on short notice and fixed the the a/c unit. He quickly identified the issue and got the unit working again. He did not try to lead me in the wrong direction or over charge...i was un need of immediate assistance and he did not try to take advantage of the situation. He was very professional. I would definitely recommend him and his company and will use him again in the future.

The owner even came out on a Saturday for us, when he usually does not. He was very polite, kind and responsive. He even showed my husband how to do some routine cleaning for the A/C unit- he promoted the independence of the homeowner.

My air stopped working on Friday July 5 2013....Since it was a holiday weekend and my husband was out of town, I decided to wait until Monday morning and find a company to fix it............Our A.C unit is only 7 yrs. old.....It was in the house when we moved in and it was installed by a large company called Aztil.......Well, without going into detail, Aztil will NEVER touch my A.C. again...... Thank goodness I have Angies List, because that's where I found Holmes Heating and Cooling........I called Mr Holmes on Monday morning and he was at our home on Monday afternoon !!!......He was very kind, honest, and professional.....He not only found the problem, but he also had to fix the terrible, dishonest job that Aztil did on their routine checkup and cleaning service...... Mr Holmes was honest and saved me a lot of money......he fixed the problems and didn't try to upsell me anything.....In fact he figured out a way to save me more money !!!......Being the owner of the company, he could have easily made money off of my desperate situation, but he showed integrity and character by being honest......Thank you so much Holmes Heating and Cooling for being one of the good guys out there and for a job well done...........................Sincerely Denise and Jeff Phillips

The came out right around when I bought the “Big Deal” and the service went good.

Things went well. He put 2lbs of freon in the system and did a tune-up. He blew out the line because we thought it was clogged. He did tell us that we had some coils that were leaking and this was not a good sign. He told us we were on borrowed time as we knew we were. He did everything he could to keep us running for a few more weeks which was great. It gave us time to research a new system, and then we replaced it!! He was very kind and knowledgeable. He responds very quickly to phone calls and explains things very well. Will use again as needed.

Mr Holmes was very thorough and did an excellent job. We would definitely recommend his service!

Was on time and did the check professionally.

Mr. Holmes and his assistant arrived on time and were very professional. They did an A/C tune-up and inspection. When I mentioned that the downstairs vent was really loud Mr. Holmes fixed it immediately at no extra charge. He seemed to be very honest and not trying to squeeze extra money from me for something I didn't need. I appreciate that and kept his card to use him again as I have not been happy in the past with other A/C service people.

A job that usually would take 1hr ended up taking 2.5 hrs --the lines from air handler were completely clogged and were finally cleared after two gallons of bleach by using high pressure CO2 . After all of this, Bart was still going to charge me the stated cost of $59. I took advantage of his offer for a maintenance contract and he made this visit my first covered by the maintenance. I couldn't recommend Bart more highly and have in fact, recommended to several people.
