Bart Holmes saved me a ton of money, he's super helpful, HONEST, and did the best job of repairing my unit. Come to find out, the original installers from another company, did a really poor job of installing a brand new unit, an under 2 years my "new" unit was burnt out. I found Bart Holmes on Angies list, if I could, I would give Bart Holmes Aaa++++. He told me what happened, an fixed the problem, got new parts, explained why it failed (poor installation from another co, that is not on Angies list).. an he saved me a ton of money, he is very polite, easy going an cares about the customer, he's been in the business for a long time, an knows which ac companies to avoid!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BART HOLMES FOR ANY AC ISSUE YOU HAVE!! He is a pleasure to to business with, an a super nice guy. my home is nice an cool thanks to him. AAAAAAAAA+++++++

After calling 5 other A/C repair listings that had "emergency hours" and being told they could not come to us for several days (despite being in a non-cooling situation) we called this kind gentleman at 7:27 pm. He immediately answered his phone and had us perform a simple test on the fan in the A/C, from the response of the fan, he knew exactly what was wrong. He said he would be at our home in 30 minutes. At exactly 7:57 pm we received a call from the security guard asking to let him through. This kind and friendly man worked in the dark with a flashlight and repaired the capacitator. He charged a very small fee for an after hours call. He left at 8:27 pm. Now our family can rest comfortably because of this man. He truly knows his field, he is prompt, works very quickly and is very kind. He has our future business and we will refer him to anyone in need of A/C repair.

There were no troubles with scheduling. They completed the job on a rental property. The work went well.

Bart Holmes was incredibly professional, personable, and reliable. I believe he is one of the few contractors in a shady industry that you can trust completely. I called Mr. Holmes after my A/C system started to freeze repeatedly. He came out on the same day and found the pressures were low indicating a leak in the system. He gave me the option of either filling it back up and attempting a leak fix product or to replace the whole system, as it was a 15 year old unit. I choose the refill and leak fix option as I would be away from home for a few months and did not want to take on a major project right before the trip. He told me there would be no guarantees and it all depends on how bad the leak is. 2 months later it started freezing again indicating the leak stop was not effective, apparently it was a bigger leak. I choose to replace the system with a brand new 2.5 ton goodman. The old unit was now on its last leg. Bart scheduled the install for the following week and to keep us cool while we waited he pumped the system back up for free. He kept me updated and informed through the whole process and did his research on the right size system for the house. On the day of the install he was personally on site with his installer Chris, who did a great job as well. Everything went well and we are very happy we got a great system for a good price that was $1000 less than the competition. 2 weeks after the install there was a power spike and the system stopped running. I called Bart and I knew this would be the true test of a contractor, how the service was once the money had changed hands. He was at the house within 2 hours and determined that there was a power spike in the area that had put a lot of the A/C units in the area into overload protection and it started right back up again. If you want someone who is honest, friendly, reliable, and who will still be around to help you even after they have been paid, Holmes Cooling and Heating is the way to go.

Called Friday before LaborDay did not expect to get him until after Holiday but he came that afternoon and worked until after 6pm!! Returned Tuesday when parts place was open and completed the Job excellent worker. Very professional and personable. Was concerned for me being without air over weekend. But assured him that I had a place to go he did excellent work and at a RESONABLE price. Will recommend him to everyone!!!!

Mr. Holmes communicated with me the entire time. He was very proficient, effective, and worked in a timely manner. I would use his services again. A week later he followed up with a phone call to check on my air conditioner.

Bart Holmes, is by far, one of the most principled business men I have met in the air-conditioning industry. Prior to his visit, I had spent $1,200 with a company that overcharged me by $400 - $500. Bart was more than willing to try to resolve my issue by telephone to save me the expense of a service call charge ($89.00). He spent about 20 minutes on the telephone talking me through the complex a/c problem but finally realized he could only resolve the issue by seeing the a/c unit at hand. He was extremely professional, honest, and personable and he, unquestionably, excels in his industry knowledge. I would have no hesitation in rating Bart with an A+. I will most definitely use him in the future, and I will also be referring him more business by distributing his business card to friends and colleagues alike.

We have moved here from Tennessee and are unfamiliar with cooling systems here. Bart went right to the problem, told us it was an easy fix and then showed us how to maintain things so we wouldn't have the same problem in the future. He was a "great find" and we will definitely call him again.

I called at 8:00 AM and left a message. He called back at 8:30, said he would be here by 10:30. Got here by 10:30, asked a few relevant questions and quickly got to work. Within one hour, he found the problem, put in the failing part, cleaned the whole unit and put in back together. Working beautifully. I met Bart in late July (through Angie's List) when I requested that he come to our house to sign a service contract. Sometimes when you meet someone for the first time, you can get a sense of them, a feeling that you are dealing with a person of genuine character. Such is Bart Holmes, owner of Holmes Cooling & Heating. Personable, professional, friendly, and most importantly, very competent. Trust me, you will never use another repair service for your AC needs.

It went very well. I am writing this review late so I can't remember the price but it was extremely reasonable. Called promptly, was professional, even took the time to show me how I could prevent the issue in the future by myself. I felt very comfortable, no hard sell, was very honest and I will definitely call again if I have any issue with my AC in the future.

We originally called Holmes heating and cooling to just come and fix our air conditioner that had broken. After he came and we understood how bad our system was, we decided to get a brand new one installed. Bart Holmes was very professional, honest, and gave us a very good price to get an entire new 5 ton Air Conditioner installed. We decided to go with a Goodman system which is very powerfull and super efficient. We have noticed our electric bill lower already even during the hottest part of the summer. Bart was very reliable, always answered our calls immediately and was available for any of our questions. Bart's expertise in air conditioning was expansive and up to date. We would thoroughly recommend him to anyone who needs AC service or a new unit installed.

AC had stopped blowing cold. Called Holmes out of hours and left a message, and Bart returned my call later that night! Came out the next day and had the unit diagnosed and repaired in about 90 minutes. No issues since the repair a couple months ago. Will not hesitate to use this company next time.

Purchased the Angie's List Deal. This is the second year that I've used Holmes Cooling for my annual AC inspection. The owner, Bart, did an exceptional job and provided me with valuable suggestions to properly maintain the system. I would definitely recommend Holmes Cooling.

Let me just say first that I think Bart Holmes is a good guy; a professional, and I will be using his services in the future. When I originally called for an air conditioning tune up at the beginning of the summer he warned me that while he would come in the evening or on the weekend (which worked best for me) he was in full busy season and could not get to me right away. Since I didn't need a repair, I was willing to wait because I value the ability to schedule appointments in the evening or on the weekend; something most service providers do not do. The day before he was to come over he called to say that an emergency had come up with another customer and requested that we change our appointment. Understanding the situation, I agreed. It is the nature of the business. We rescheduled. For the new appointment he was late, but he called explaining that he had gotten backed up that day. I completely understand as it is the risk of taking and end of day appointment. I was glad he was still willing to come over. He had said he would gladly come over later in the evening to accommodate my schedule. When he arrived he inspected all the elements of my air conditioning system and spend a good amount of time flushing the drain line. And, he also made some minor repairs. He was very personable and explained the condition of the components. He told me the system pressure was good and did not need refrigerant. I never got the impression he was trying to upsell me or exaggerate the need for repair. I even asked him to take a look at our air vents to see if they could use a cleaning (another service his compay provides). He said they were very clean and did not need service. He simply charged me the Angie's List coupon price for an A/C inspection that I had seen online and that was it. A deal. I will be using him in the future. If something breaks, I feel I will be in good hands. If nothing breaks, I know I'll call him for a routine service.

Excellent communication and service. Fast response to booking request. Provided services as described in the 'Deal"and gave us pointers on how to keep the system clean. Bart is extremely professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Will call them for any future heating or cooling needs.

I liked that they were very prompt. Everything that they said that they would do they did on time. There were no extra costs or anything like that. I was very happy with their service. I would definitely recommend that they use them.

I found something else that was a bit cheaper. The gentleman I spoke to on behalf of the company was very nice.

I contacted the company and the owner got back to me right away. He came and gave us a very honest, fair and reasonable estimate on a new system. Customer Service was great!

Mr. Holmes was a godsend. Out of the blue my a.c. completely shut off this past weekend and the temperature in the house was getting unbearable. I placed a call to Mr. Holmes who was out on the road with several other jobs that afternoon to attend too. He was so kind and patient with me and walked me through some checkpoints at first over the phone to see what the problem was and if there was anything I could do in the meantime. It sounded like I had a clogged system. And that my a.c. had automatically shutoff to protect the system. It turned out although I tried - I couldn't do any flushing out of the system myself with the hose because of the way my system is constructed. Mr. Holmes promised me he would come to the house after he finished with his other afternoon customers and attend to my problem. And true to his word - he pulled in to my house a few hours later - and quickly identified the problem and got to work. He pressure vacuumed the system inside and out and checked all system components. Like magic - my a.c. started again! I am so grateful for Mr. Holmes responsiveness and professional service. He understands how upsetting it can be when it's summer in FL and the air goes out on a poor lady and her cats. I was not an established customer of his and I called him on a very busy summer Saturday. He treated me as a valued customer which I very much appreciate. I give his company the highest recommendation possible!

I scheduled the appointment for 10:00am and he called the night before and said he needed to re-schedule because something had come up. I had no problem with re-scheduling. We agreed he would come in the late afternoon on the same day of the original appointment. He said he would call one hour prior to arrival so I would know when to expect him. I received no phone call and he never showed up. It was a waste of my entire day. I left him a message that night through Angie's List saying I was no longer interested in using his company and I requested a refund from Angie's List. He did contact me the next day via Angie's List and also by phone to apologize and said he got hung up and couldn't call yesterday because there was no cell reception. Was there no land line in the vicinity either? He offered to do a cleaning and tune up at no charge which was very nice but I declined. Overall a very disappointing experience.

Would highly recommend this company. Bart took the extra time and to effort to explain the system and make sure I understood what it needed. He went beyond the basics and make sure I was happy before he left. The system has worked great. Thanks Bart!

Mr. Holmes is a very nice person, polite and professional. Price (paying through Angies List) was great. He was a bit late. He inspected the AC unit, and gave me good news that everything was ok, instead of trying to rip off a single woman by find the system out of order.

Bart responded very quickly to my phone call and came out after hours. Very happy with Bart's response, knowledge and professionalism.
