Bart concluded that our neighbor's refrigerant line was leaking over our ceiling. I insisted he bring me up to the attic to show me what he was explaining to me. He was courteous, patient and went above and beyond to ensure I understood the issue so I could explain it to my neighbor. Bart did not charge me for the service call. I would highly recommend Bart and his team and plan on calling them in the future for maintenance and/or issues.

Outstanding. Bart and his buddy are gentlemen, professional and CLEAN when doing the work. Worked right through and made sure everything worked right. Bart went over every detail. I did pay a few bucks more than some other quotes but Bart was much more detailed, friendly and explained everything. The Goodman Unit is so quiet and does a great job. Bottom Line I can leave Bart and his helper to do the work while I stepped out and I did not have to worry. I would use again if I ever purchased a new place and needed an A/C. GREAT JOB BART!!!

I had a specific AC project in mind and Bart was straight to the point that it wasn't the type of project he would normally consider. He went on to provide me excellent advice on how to accomplish my project and the potential pitfalls to avoid. He very well could have tap-danced his way into recommending a bigger and more expensive job but never even hinted at it. Our A/C unit stopped working early Sunday morning. I called Holmes Cooling and explained the specifics to Bart. He determined the problem over the phone and told me how to fix it. I did what he suggested and the problem was solved. That kind of service is what we all hope for, and all too often do not get. Holmes has our highest recommendation.

We first called Holmes Cooling and Heating when our air handler started leaking. I can honestly say they are one of the best contractors I have ever used! "Bart" was helpful, honest, and performed a difficult and complex project at a fair price. When we first called Holmes Cooling and Heating Bart Holmes came to our house and evaluated our old system. He gave us the option of repairing or replacing the old system and after talking it over with my wife we decided to replace the entire system, I don't go forward with a project like this without doing a lot of research and Bart was fine with that. In fact Bart recharged our old system with 4lbs. of R-22 (very expensive and hard to find) at no charge "just to get us by" until we could decide on the make and model ac we wanted to install. Once we were ready to start the project Bart purchased the system and showed me his cost on the equipment so I know the price was very reasonable and fair. Bart's Crew showed up on time and were very professional. they did an excellent job (including all the "little things" that so many contractors neglect these days) and provided us with a job well done! I have to say before signing on the dotted line, I spent several weeks researching air conditioning systems and spoke to several experts I know from work. During that time Bart had to endure my constant calls with questions about different makes and models as well as the project itself. Bart spent a great deal of time answering all my questions and even invited me to his home to see the system he installed. He said on several occasions "I want you to be happy with the system so continue your research and let me know when you are ready". Bart has kept in touch just to make sure we have no issues and let us know we can call him any time day or night if we have any questions or issues with our new system. Bart was extremely personable and professional. He was able to diagnose and fix my issue within minutes of arrival. He was quick to respond on my Angie's list message and responded to my home when it was convenient for me. By the time he left I knew how to fix my issue if it happened again and made a new friend. A plus rating across the board.

He was very professional and honest. I did not use his service because I have a contract with another service provider who gave me a price he advised me no one would match and I should run with it. He also took the time to give me advice on what questions I should ask them when installing the new unit. If I did not have a contract with another company, I would definitely use this company because of Bart's professionalism.

When my A/C went out Bart was the first person I called based on the reviews here. He came across as a friendly, honest, and reliable guy but I resisted the urge to go with him on the spot (and it was a strong urge because my old system was completely down and it was HOT and humid). I vetted and called three other AC companies (some were from here, some were referrals) to get competing quotes. Some came in lower, some came in higher. Some recommended one brand, some another. I probably would have been safe going with any of them to be honest, but Bart stood out among the crowd as someone who cares about his company and his customers and is passionate about what he does. They started and finished exactly when the said the would. The were very courteous and professional. I don't like to stereotype but some people just strike you as being competent in what they do upon first glance. Bart's guys were like that. You could tell right off the bat that they were experienced professionals before they opened the tool bag, After Bart left, he turned around to come back in order to point something out that he forgot to tell me. He could have made a phone call. Heck, he could have let it pass, but he came back to the house. That pretty much sums up why I would recommend him.

BART IS THE BEST!!!! I called Bart at 6pm, he was at my house by 7pm and the house was cool by 8pm. Bart took the time to explain to us what was not operating correctly, cleaned my dirty coils, and drain line. He was totally professional and did not try to sell us something we did not need. He checked over my complete system and assured us this is what he would recommend now. The total bill was for 1 hour of labor and I felt it was more than fair. We will not even think about calling anyone else when we need service on our HVAC system.

I noticed that the AC in my house wasn't cooling like normal. Three days of watching the temp rise during the day was concerning. I just bought this house and did not know the overall condition of the AC system. The filter is clean and the system works. Ok, now what?? That's why I called a "Professional". After waiting 6 days for a return call I called another company and got a Freon recharge and my coils cleaned. System works fine now. I wanted to give work family company but ended up with a commercial company who responded with empathy and haste. I will not be calling Holmes Cooling & Heating in the future.

It is almost a solid rule that if things go wrong with major systems in one's home it is either Saturday night or Sunday. I my case midday Sunday I noticed that cold air was flowing out the intake vent when the a/c was off. I have a contract with a major a/c repair company and the best they could do was to schedule and technician for 3 days later. It was at that time that I called Bart Holmes having found his name on Angie's list. He answered on his cell phone and listened to my story. His reply was that he was on his way home and would stop by my place just to see what was going on. He spent about 1 1/2 hours trying to figure out what was going on. When he made the repair everything fell into order and the system has been running well. I believe had we waited 3 more days the system would have broken down resulting in a much higher bill. You can be sure I have dropped the old company. I give Holmes Cooling & Heating the very highest rating. Bart Holmes is a pleasure to work with as well as being highly skilled and knowledgeable.

Bart (owner) was professional, honest, responsive & accommodating throughout the whole process. I called one afternoon about an a/c unit that suddenly stopped cooling & he was able to send a tech to evaluate the problem the next morning. The tech (Steve) was very thorough & patient in explaining the problem & the options available. The unit I had was older & leaking so instead of patching it temporarily, I opted for a new, more efficient model. They didn't push for us to choose the most expensive model which friends told me was their experience when dealing with other a/c companies. The installer (Chris) was punctual, polite, clean & efficient without rushing. I felt comfortable with him in the house during the few hours it took to remove the old appliance & install the new parts. The owner came by to inspect the work while the installer was there to make sure all my questions were answered & that everything was done to my satisfactionI could tell he takes pride in his work & business. In my opinion, their work was great, pricing was fair & overall they went above and beyond my expectations. I would gladly recommend them to friends & neighbors.

Minus the pain of being without AC in July... Everything was great. Bart is such a nice guy and did his best to get us up and running as soon as he could. He even worked on a Saturday. I really can't say enough good things about Holmes cooling and heating. I truly felt like I was in good hands working with trust worthy people.

A younger man came out and performed the cleaning and checking of the unit. He called me and said it is in good working order and good shape and should be fine now -- it is. He left his drill which I called him promptly and left it in the screened front area.

I was told by another company that my air conditioner is falling apart and promptly gave me an estimate for a new system. I called Bart of Holmes Cooling & Heating to come over for a second estimate. Bart came, took a look at my present air conditioner and told me that it's working fine and probably get a few more years of use out of it. I am impressed by Bart's honesty and he will certainly be my air con guy from now on.

Way to go Bart!!! Great service by providing a good customer service attitude and being super knowledgeable. I have an older Air handler and condenser unit that is still kicking and running. I called up my home warranty company originally and they sent out 2 different vendors to troubleshoot my AC. The first guy that the home warranty sent out had a horrible customer service attitude and just added freon to my AC unit. I asked this guy to check a couple of things and the vendor stated that it is the design of my home. I didn't like the response from this vendor, so I asked the home warranty company to send out another vendor and this was a mistake. The 2nd vendor said I had a lot of bacteria and mold and that I needed a new unit because of it. They also said my pipes were frozen over but none of the pipes that this vendor said was frozen over has a frost or ice on it. They also said my first vendor should have never just added freon to my unit without taking out the older freon in my unit because I would then be introducing a toxin into my home. This vendor then said my claim was denied by my home warranty company. I called up the home warranty company and they told me that they didn't say this. This company then tried to push a new unit on me and my wife. Just today I called back the home warranty company and they told me that my claim was denied because of what this last vendor stated. At this point I was upset. I had enough. I looked on Angies list and then I looked at the Bart's AC company and all the positive reviews he had. I took a chance and I was glad I did. Bart came with his worker Steve and they took the time to explain what was going on with the AC. They cleaned out my condenser unit outside and they informed that my unit was good even though it is an older unit. They gave me good advice on how to proceed forward by getting a box test for my AC ducts to make sure they are no leaks. Bart cared about my situation and helped me with my issues. I was glad that Bart and Steve took the time to help me. Bart was out in a very timely manner and was in constant communication with me. I would recommend Bart's AC service to anyone who wants the job done right to contact Bart. It is hard to find a good AC guy let alone anyone that does a service for people's needs. Bart was not out to get me or pull a fast one but instead he did quality work and comforted me that my AC was good to go. God bless you!!!

Bart went through the inside unit with me - updated me on every part of it and showed me the flushing maintenance that can add years of life to the system. Then he inspected the outside, unclogged a pipe and showed me how to do it as well. The house is new to us, so I very much appreciated him taking the time to walk me through all the moving parts because it will make it so much easier for me to maintain it. I could not be more pleased with how it went!!

It went perfect, had two other companies out for same fix, one an A rated, one a B rated, neither did the job correctly. No other co.'s even mentioned what Holmes did to fix my problem...They just try to sell you a new unit, B.S. Thanks Holmes I'm glad I found you.

He came inside the house and turned the unit on, than he went outside to check if the unit was running outside and new exactly what it was. He replaced the old part, ckecked the refrigerant levels, cleared the drain line and was finished! The house was cool within the hour! YAH!

They do a good job. I have used them on two houses. They are working just fine now. He is very good. He was clean. He was professional. He knew what he was doing. Pricing was very good.

Bart and his team (Steve & Chris) demonstrated professionalism, courtesy and excellent industry knowledge by providing more than one option to resolve our problem and putting a plan into place quickly once we made our decision. Bart and his team worked diligently to install our new A/C unit, explain all of the details of the work they were performing for the price we were paying, and answer any questions we had. My only disappointment was to see the 10% off a complete new A/C installation coupon here on Angie's List after the fact. With such a hefty price tag on this service, a discount would have helped. In any case, the service was excellent. Thank you!

I called Bart when my system was not working. That was Friday morning, and it had not been working since Thursday around dinner time. He and Steve came around 3:15pm as agreed. They were punctual and professional. They turned the system on and unbelievably it was working. They did not do anything to make it work except turn it on just like I had done the day before with no cooling. I was very glad they did not charge me a service call and leave. It surely would have not worked again and I would have another service call to pay. The guys spent about half an hour checking everything over within the compressor unit. When they tested the capacitor it failed the meter tests and they also noticed that a relay switch had a broken terminal. They replaced both defective parts and the air is working fine now. There was NO discussion of upselling me into anything else. I was told that the compressor should last another couple of years and that fixing it at this point was the right thing to do. I imagine that some people may feel that fixing a unit that is working fine at the time was not called for. I completely disagree with that. I am 100% sure my a/c did not work yesterday and it would shortly not be working again. I watched the entire job and diagnosis process and I am 100% the relay broken and I saw the meter readings that showed a faulty capacitor.

Checked stuff I would not have thought of. Very happy.
