Communicated the entire time. He actually was running late for initial appointment, but kept me aware he was running behind. I totally understand because it is hard to know how long a job may take. The later time would not work, but he immediately had the office call to find a new time.

They found that while the drain line was cleared something was blocking the system from completely draining. So they came back inside the house and started checking out the pan...And sure enough they found that there was a block in the pan as well and took care of it. The owner Bart and his nephew JC were very professional and through. I will call them in the future and will tell my friends about my experience! I have never called a contractor and had someone at my home in 15 minutes. This was so important as the leak was causing damage. Bart and JC diagnosed issue right away and AC is fine. Holmes heating and cooling was wonderful to work with! I called and he was able to come out the next day. He was friendly and honest with his assessment. He could have upsold me on many other services, he was honest with what we needed to have done, and it happened to be a simple fix!! I will definitely call Holmes for any other air conditioning needs!!

Holmes AC Cooling and heating went above and beyond this time. I a repeat user, had a condenser unit installed about months a go which save me big time on my electric bills. This time I had a leak in my evaporator pan which was caused by the movement of the condensate line. Bart saved me abut 1800.00 by repairing the pan with pool putty and coating the bottom with a leak protector. It wasn't an easy job, but a new evaporator coil would have cost 2300.00 or more. It's hard to find someone honest today and I have found that person. Will never have to look again for an AC repairman. Would recommend Holmes AC to everyone for honesty and integrity that is hard to find today.

My a/c suddenly stopped working on a late Friday afternoon. I had a great experience the 1st time I used their service about a year ago so I immediately called Bart & in less than 24 hr turn around, he was able to come out to see what was wrong. He inspected the issue, identified the problem & fixed it simply & quickly. Not only are Bart & his staff very professional & knowledgable, they are also very polite. This minimized any potential stress when having to deal w a service provider. It makes for a much more pleasant experience in an inconvenient circumstance. Another thing I found helpful both this & last time I hired Holmes was that Bart provided several helpful tips for use of my a/c system & it's maintenance. His patience with my questions & clear explanations were also much appreciated. I'm a 2nd time satisfied customer & won't hesitate to contact them should any future issues arise. And I would gladly gladly recommend them to friends & neighbors.

Spent an 1 hour suggesting what to do now and in the future without the hard sell. Did not even give an estimate as he said I still have life in my existing AC. It is very hard to find a contractor who will forego a big job and suggest you can fix it yourself. Honesty and integrity definitely apply to Mr.Holmes!!!

From the moment we called Holmes, Bart was incredibly great to work with. Very responsive to what we were looking for and talked us through the entire process. Our compressor and handler were replaced and some of the duct work was repaired and adjusted to fit what we were looking for. We never felt like he was trying to sell us something we didn't need and treated us like he would want to be treated. I can not recommend Holmes enough. He will always be our first call for AC work, and our first recommendation to friends who need AC work as well.

Bart had my husband tell him what was going on. He agreed with my husband that it was likely the thermostat. He told my husband to go to Home Depot to buy a new one and explained to him how to connect it. This guy is AMAZING!!!! I would not hesitate to call him if we have an issue and/or to recommend him. It is April Fools Day today ... but this is no JOKE. We are so happy that we were able to help our daughter and that it only cost the price of a new thermostat. THANK YOU BART!!!!!

We just moved into this house. We were unfamiliar with this HVAC system. He helped me solve what turned out to be simple thermostat problem over the phone. Great customer-first approach!!!!!

Bart showed me the issue and took his time to fully explain the fix and cost. I've had a service contract with him for over 3 years and he has always gone out of his way to explain and fix any issue, has been honest and fair with cost.

Mr. Holmes and his mechanic John showed up on time with the new condensing unit, which would make the overall AC a 16 seer. They proceeded to change the valve inside the air handler which would convert the unit the unit to the legal R403 refrigerant. In changing out the valve John found out that the previous valve was not installed properly which also would have caused the high electric bills also. The new unit was installed to match the air handler and done in a very professional manner. John also went up in the attic and removed the previous air handler which was left when the new air handler was moved to a first floor closet. John dis-assembled the unit to remove it from the attic without causing any damage to the home. John also strapped the ducts to the rafters that were left lying on the attic floor. The above contractor also fogged the duct system for mildew, seeing that I have been displaced from the house because of a mold problem that had existed for over 3 years. The main reason I chose this contractor is he did not come into to sell me a unit without investigating the problem. My other 2 estimates were only interested in the sale and not solving the problem. Will use Holmes Cooling and Heating for all my AC needs in the future and recommend them to all my friends.

Because of space restrictions, the job was unusualy complex and Bart Holmes recommended another company that could perform the job. I appreciated his honesty. The other company came in, gave me a quote MUCH lower than I expected given the complexity of the job.

when we first spoke on Saturday afternoon he said he would call an be out at 9:00am to check out the system and do the work. Did not show up or call, so I called he said he was feeling under the weather but would be out by noon. He called again at approximately 11:30 and said either he or his service man would be here in 20 minutes. His service man arrived at about 12:15pm. Service man seemed to know what he was doing. only spent about an hour doing everything never but any gages on the system to check the free on level said he did not need, just check the air flow. Price seemed very excessive for work done!

Called in the morning and Bart came out that same day to address our issue. We had turned the heat on and it was not working. He quickly diagnosed that the thermostat we had installed ourselves was not compatible with our system. He had the part on hand and fixed the issue. Very pleased with the service and will call again.

I called Bart, he answered on the first ring. He talked to me over the phone to check the thermostat wires. His hunch was correct that the previous AC company wired my thermostat incorrectly. I switched the wire and works great. No charge.... Thats Bart

Everything went great. Unbelieveable level of communication and outreach from Bart and team, kept me updated daily on status of job, shipping, repair, etc. Truly felt it was very important to Bart that I was happy with the job performed and level of service. Would happily recommend and use them again in the future.

It went great. He had to climb into small attic space, which was difficult, but he did it twice. He is very thorough and knowledgeable. Plus, he is truly a very nice person.

I called Bart at approximately 6:00 PM when my upstairs A/C unit stopped working. He rearranged his schedule and made my house his first stop the following morning. He called when he was 15 minutes out and arrived on time just like promised. He spent approximately 2 hours thoroughly examining both of my A/C units he explained that a power surge and a faulty float valve were the issues. He performed preventative maintenance on both units and added 2 lbs of refrigerant. He explained what he was doing throughout the whole service call and gave me some tips to save me money and get the maximum life out of both units. I found him to be both honest, friendly and most importantly extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend him and his company.

I contacted Holmes Cooling for what I thought was an issue with my duct work. They were very helpful with scheduling an appointment much earlier than I had expected. Bart arrived at the agreed upon time and gathered some information from me regarding the problem. He took the time to inspect the areas of concern and was very detailed with his explanation of what was going on. It turns out I didn't have as much of an issue as I thought and he provided guidance on correcting the issue. I would definitely use him again and highly recommend contacting him if you should find yourself with AC issues. I wish more providers were as professional and courteous as him.

My A/C died last Friday evening (always on the weekend!!!). Called Holmes on Saturday morning, based on positive angie's list reviews. Bart was out to my house by 10 a.m. that day,and after much troubleshooting, diagnosed problem that was going to be fairly expensive to fix. Rather than fix part now, and wait for the next problem to arise, decided on replacing the whole unit. Bart let me know first thing Monday morning that they had the new unit, and could install first thing Tuesday morning. All went smooth, and not sweating here as I type this :) There was no pressure to upsell, and very pleased with the entire experience. Having lived in south Florida all my life, this was the best a/c experience I have had. Highly recommend!

Bart took the time out of his busy schedule and gave me some valuable education of our old A/C system. He did not sway me one way or the other and gave me a competitive estimate. He is an honest, standup guy who is obviously very knowledgable about A/C systems. Although we ended up not needing his services, the fact that he gave us his time for free speaks volumes of what kind of guy Bart is. We will certainly consider him for future needs. I contacted Holmes Heating & Cooling looking for an estimate on duct work. The owner, Bart Holmes called me back within an hour, listened to my need regarding a duct work estimate and told me he was unable to get out as soon as I needed him as he was backed up with other jobs. He then recommended another local company, also on Angie's List, that he felt could meet my needs sooner due to their size. I appreciated his responsiveness, professionalism and honesty. I would go back and use this company in future.
