Bought an Intelliflo pump for $1300 and was told installation would be $150 to $250 (depending on whether I needed a GFI circuit breaker). The installation tech did not understand how to do the job, and spent an hour and a half on the phone with his supervisor. I was lucky enough to have to pay for this on-site training - to the tune of $460. Total cost for a new pump - just under $1900. This is especially irritating since I could have bought the pump myself through Amazon for around $900 and am fully capable of installing it myself, but Pentair has this horrific warranty policy - 60 days if I install it, 3 years if I pay someone licensed (who doesn't know what they're doing) to install it. Can't blame the warranty policy on Pinch-A-Penny, but certainly I was led astray by the cost estimates and probably would have gone elsewhere if I had known in advance. Lessons learned: 1) They would have installed the pump even if I had bought it through Amazon - that would have saved me $400 2) Store I bought from (Rockledge) doesn't do installs, and counts on another Pinch-A-Penny location for installs (Cocoa office). They apparently don't communicate well with one another regarding install costs. Should have talked to Cocoa office directly and not relied on Rockledge store's info. 3) Probably should have got another estimate from someone else. 4) GFI outlet on the side of your pool power/timer box doesn't mean you have a GFI breaker. I assumed it did and was further annoyed at the $150 charge for the breaker I didn't think I needed, but apparently is required by code (assuming I'm not being lied to about that).

They are a little on the expensive side but worth it. Consistent and thorough service each week. Pool tech takes all the time necessary to get the pool clean and safe to use. PK in Merritt Island location goes above and beyond the call to respond promptly when my pool system isn't working normally. As a mom of young children, I trust Pinch a Penny.
Description of Work: Cleans pool, monitors water quality, adds needed chemicals.

My pool is not even a year old and they have not been able to resolve marks on the walls from not maintaining the ph on the water stable. To find the supervisor I had to travel to two locations and find out where my account was located now. I would not recommend this location for services: Pinch A Penny Merritt Island, North Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island, Florida.
Description of Work: Complete pool service takes about 10 to 15 minutes, The time frame changes without notice. When franchise sell the business location, you go with the sales without notifying you or asking for your opinion. However, they keep deducting the payments when a credit card is provided.

It's going fine. We pay them for monthly maintenance. I chat briefly with Luis almost every weds.
Description of Work: I use the Pinch a Penny on Semoran Blvd in southeast Orlando. I don't recognize the address of the Pinch A Penny on Murrell Road in Rockledge, FL, that Angie's List sent me to review (unless that is a corporate central office). It's not where we send our monthly payment. Anyway, Steve and Gary at the Pinch-a-Penny we use are very attentive on the phone and responsive to any needs with our pool, which they regularly maintain for us. We pay $100/month. Luis comes out faithfuly each Weds to test the water, clean the pool and filter and add chemicals. He even brings a dog biscuit for Milo (terrier mix)! Milo is always thrilled to see Luis and he is friendly and professional. The only minor complaint I have is they were a tad defensive when they found out I had taken a water sample to Leslie's for free testing. Turned out the chlorine was way too high (8). They explained that their quickie weekly field test only shows reding up to 5 (4 is where you want it), They perform a more comprehensive, in-house water test (when they bring the sample back to the office) in the future on a monthly basis. I appreciate that, but I still recommend checking up on your pool service once in a while.

Description of Work: I have a general maintenance service, cleaning, chemicals etc... for $110.er month. Well worth the service price. I also call when major items occur, bad pump, lights out etc...They immediately respond and fix things at a reasonable price. I am referring to the Merritt Island franchise and they simply do an outstanding job always.

Pinch A Penny was Johnny on the spot. They said what time they would be here. He was here early. He went right to work and fixed it. That was it. One day.
Description of Work: We have a saltwater pool and we have a pod that operates it. You just push buttons and stuff like that. It is called an Aqualogic system. The cell was giving us bad reading that there was no power to the cell.
