+ 1 moreThe technicians who came in to do the work were extremely professional. They answered my questions with ease and patience. By the end of the installation they felt more like family. Even though the system is easy to use, after installation I had some additional questions. I called Tony and he was able to walk me through everything over the phone, free of charge. This is a company that truly cares about their customers and it shows in every aspect of their work. I look forward to the next project I hire them for.
Description of Work: I just bought a new house and was looking for a home automation specialist. Within a day of contacting Modern Tech Services, Tony was at my house to give me a demo and talk about options and give a quote. He was transparent about costs and didn't simply try to sell me the most expensive and outlandish package. I was able to tailor the Control4 system to my needs and felt the price was very fair and under most other quotes for what I feel is a higher end system than what other contractors had shown me. I love having the ability to control my locks, lighting, thermostat, pool pump, irrigation or view my security cameras remotely while I'm away at work or on vacation!

+ -1 moreIt took several days of LONG hours and hard work by Tony and his crew, but they finished most of the work (we still have an outdoor-rated TV to be installed on our patio, awaiting a special mount, as well as the remotely accessible front door lock). TV's are wall mounted throughout the house, with no cables or wires visible, and especially so for the living room, normally an area known for a big "spaghetti mess". A very, very clean installation and very professional looking! We can now do several things remotely, including checking our outdoor cameras on our cell phones, as well as communicate with people who come to our front door. Tony also patiently explained how to work the various features of this whole home automation system. If you're looking for a very knowledgeable home automation and A/V person, Tony and his people are who you want. They are very honest and candid in what products they suggest to you, and will build a system within your price range.
Description of Work: We started off needing a reputable local company to hang several TV's throughout our newly built home, as well as put in surround sound speakers for an 80" TV and A/V receiver going in the living room. The company owner, Tony, recommended several speaker types of varying quality and price, before we decided on the best solution for us. When Tony learned that we were having a security system installed and wanted outdoor cameras, he offered to put in a home automation system to tie in the cameras, and integrate all of them together, as well as being able to control the security system from our master control system (4C). This also included a front door dedicated camera/intercom (Door Bird) that was accessible via cell phones. He also suggested a remotely accessible front door dead bolt. Additionally, this was all tied together with our cable TV provider, music, and various Internet applications.

Description of Work: We hired Modern Technology Services for home automation. We were not exactly sure what we wanted but Tony, the owner of the company, was so patient in walking us through all of our questions. He is very dedicated to the satisfaction of his customers and you can just tell he loves his job. We ended up with a home automation system called Control 4. The system makes our busy lives seem less complex and because everything we purchased (light switches, tv, garage door, alarm, doorbird and nest) are controlled by our phones, I can ensure our house and thus my family is protected at all times. We are actually in the process of talking about next steps. Get home automation, it is necessary!
