G & G Roofing

I was in the market to replace my roof and contacted many local companies for a quote. G & G was able to separate themselves from the competition from the first day. They provided communication via phone and email and had a quote to me within a day or two. The quote provided was less than any other quote that I was provided with. Additionally, the customer service manager, Rick, took control of a situation that I am not familiar with for me and handled all aspects of scheduling, picking out the roof color, and the overall guidance through the process. He even stopped at my home one morning to help me identify colors. The roof was done within the time frame expected and their tradesman were professional and hard working in getting it done. Everything was completed within a few days from the day they started until the final permit approval. My house looks great. I am in the Real Estate industry and will be recommending G & G to all of my partners.

The sales side was great. The project manager was never on site and never returned my calls unless I called the office and complained. Didn’t have all parts delivered to job and had to call to remind them to install new weather head boot iver a week later. Left their trailer in my driveway with flat tire and nails in my driveway for a couple of days after finished. Tar was left all over my tile walkway and had them come back to clean. Very disappointed.

Never received a phone call to set up quote.

DONT EVEN WAST YOUR TIME CALLING THIS COMPANY, JASON SCHEDULED TWICE TO COME OUT TO CHECK ON MY ROOF, NEVER SHOWED!!!!!!!! YOU SHOULD BE TERMINATED FROM ANGIES LIST.

Sorry, you just weren't responsive. I can't wait around forever. Surely, you understand. If you were trying to collect a bill, would you just sit on it?

I hired G&G due to their review here on Angie's list and the price they quoted me. I was also told by an acquaintance that they do a good job. It took 8 weeks or so to start. We aren't in a rush since we are just replacing on old roof, so that part wasn't a problem. The workers showed up promptly the day they started and worked for over a week. They finished 98% of the roof and then stopped. That was nearly 2 weeks ago. The workers accidentally covered a vent for a gas water heater the 1st day on the job, which shut off hot water to two bathrooms including the master. I let them know on day 2. They sent a plumber out (at my cost) to inspect and he determined the problem was the vent. I notified the project manager the same day. Its now been nearly 3 weeks and we still don't have the hot water fixed. I put three calls in to the project managers and one in to the main office - all with no reply. After my 3rd email, I finally got a response that they would come two days ago and finish but no one showed up as promised. I'm not commenting on the quality of the work yet because I have not inspected the roof since it is not completed.

They never called back after leaving messages.

G+G Roofing was very sensitive to our needs. Although the job was small and the work was done for free, they showed up less than 1 week after I spoke with them. The gentleman that showed up to perform the work was polite and courteous. The work was completed in about 1 hour and we are very thankful.

Their workers came out to the house at 7 am every day for 3 days and left at 5:45 every night. They worked until around noon, took lunch, and then work again. They would clean up daily the last 1/2 hour or so, like clockwork. The roof looks great and have all positive things to say about their workers, i.e. prompt, courteous, and professional.

A quote was provided and accepted then they stopped returning calls and essentially disappeared. Email, text,and voicemail. This for over a month.

G&G are AWSOME!, they got the roof done just in time for hurricane Irma. Didn't loose a single shingle....

Cancelled the first appointment for an estimate saying he was sick and was late for the rescheduled appointment because his mother had some issue. Wouldn't give me an estimate on the spot and said he had to go back to the office and do the figures and I never heard from him again.

Could not get a return call....would never use this company again

Gentleman was courteous and prompt. Thankfully we had no damage. Would certainly hire if we need work in the future.

Quality, professionalism, punctuality, and honest pricing were EXCELLENT. G & G Roofing and their Superintendent Jimmy acted with integrity and urgency to correct the problem at hand for myself and a neighbor... without scams, puffery, or gouging. These are genuine community members, and you can see and hear in Jimmy the sincere desire to make people's homes "whole" again as quickly as possible, to mitigate additional home damage. G & G Roofing is an honest member of the community who are in business for the long haul. We feel fortunate to have found them. Have some patience during these tumultuous times... Jimmy mentioned that he has twelve crews working from pre-dawn to post-dusk. I can attest to their fortitude until no light remained. In the future, when it is time for us to get ANY roof work or roof replacement, Jimmy and G & G roofing is who I will trust and rely upon. Beware the OTHER companies who, after the hurricane, were SOLICITING DOOR to DOOR with inflated costs, and suspiciously written "assignment of benefit" contracts trying to get people to sign on the dotted line.

Excellent price and product. Good overall. Way too slow in tarping my roof on day 1 when thunderstorms moved in; crew kept working in the rain and my attic leaked like a sieve. Had to climb into attic to set out seven catch bowls for water POURING in through roof holes. Excellent job cleaning up on day 2 when roof was finished.

They were fine. They did alright by me.

Office staff was wonderful and rescheduled our appointment (we gave a day's notice) to the very next day. The estimator called after the time he should have arrived telling us he had fallen off a ladder and sprung his ankle and would come Monday - it was Friday. He never came nor did anyone call to reschedule. We didn't call back - hey if they want our bus, they should call.

After calling and leaving a message, and then emailing another roofer without getting a response, I was pleased to call G&G Roofing and get a live, helpful human being on the phone who scheduled a visit with an appraiser in the same week. That person seemed professional and gave what I thought was a reasonable estimate to replace the vent, so a contract was signed and a deposit made. I was told I would be contacted with a date for the repair to be done, but I never was; instead, one of their technicians just showed up one day to do the work; I was at work myself, so was unable to be there the whole time. The technician was Hispanic, and although his work looked thorough and he went out of his way to point out problem areas and explain what he was doing, it was hard to understand what he was saying. Prior to the repair the vent would leak in a windblown, driving rain; we have since had a fair amount of rain, but only two incidents of driving rain. No leaks so far though, which is good.

The estimator showed up on time, and we were happy with the price, which was close to insurance estimation. HOWEVER, they have a real issue with communication (apparently both internal and with the customer). They gave us a date in early April, then slipped it 3x but never contacted us...all communications were initiated by us. They admitted they had communication issues between their scheduler(s) and their project manager(s). Communication was also not great regarding scheduling of the county inspection and receipt of various paperwork, and it was always later than they stated. The roof looks great, and we are satisfied with the work performed, but they need to improve communication with the customer.

After the hail storm recently I needed to have my roof inspected by 3 companies my insurance company said. The first two companies claimed that my roof was completely destroyed. As I was calling to schedule the third estimate I noticed a G&G roofing truck next door at my neighbors house so I decided to walk over and speak to them. I met Jimmy Ollie who immediately let me know that he was not a salesman but would gladly give me an honest assessment of my roof. He then told me that my roof had not received any damage from the storm. Two days later my adjuster arrived and word for word agreed with Jimmy Ollie. I appreciate the honesty and integrity of this company already and haven’t even gotten any roofing work done by them yet. My adjuster did tell me that the time to get a roof replacement is coming very soon. My husband and I are trying to figure out when would be the best time and we will be going with G&G Roofing when the time comes.

I originally contracted for the work in October. Because so many homes needed new roofs as a result of Hurricane Matthew, work was tentatively scheduled for second week of December. I was out of town on business and by near the end of January the work had not yet been done. Once work commenced, the job was done professionally and quickly. There were a few issues that needed to be taken care of but G&G completed the work after a short delay. I am pleased with the work, felt I got a fair price, and neighbors commented positively about the diligence of the crew.

I was encouraged when Jason arrived on time to inspect my roof. He told me he would send an estimate in a few days. After over 3 week and having the contacted the company several time I still have no estimate. Moving on.

Outstanding service and communication from Nick B, company rep. Kept me completely informed as I am out of state. Price was outstanding. Work and clean-up good. As someone out of state and completely at their mercy, I can only say the best things.

Awful. I’m not one to write reviews, but this company screwed up THAT bad. First of all, it took them over 2 weeks to pull the permit, and then over 2 more weeks passed before they actually started the job (we were told the job would start within 2 weeks) . Then, the company damaged the water pump, water pipes, and water system on our property, tried to "repair" them, and didn't tell us anything about it happening. We found out about the incident from our neighbor. They never followed up with us after we reported the issue to their office, we had to repeatedly call them and we would never hear back from anyone. Getting the issue resolved was a total nightmare. The roofing company said they would hire someone to fix the problems they caused, but never did. The problems worsened while we waited 2 weeks for them to find someone to do the repair, so we ended up paying out of our pocket to have the pump, pipes, and water system fixed. We also asked to be present for the inspection because we identified at least FIVE weak spots that gave way when we walked across the roof (we are both 120 - 125 lbs), and they never contacted us. We finally got management's attention when we refused to pay for the job until we spoke with a manager, because no one had returned our calls nor addressed our concerns. The manager we eventually spoke with told us that their solution to the problem was to let go of the person they deemed responsible for the mess, offered to pay for a portion (less than 15%) of the costs we paid to repair the damaged that they caused, and then they threatened to put a lien on our property for non-payment. Needless to say, we are shocked, appalled and disgusted with how this company treated us as clients. When our friends and family ask us for a roofing referral (we've had 3 so far) we send them to a competing company. :O)
