Ray was wonderful on the sales call and determined that I needed more than his services to do the total project.  He hooked me up with  a great general contractor who did a great job on the whole project.
The only problem that I had was the workers sent for the roof did not clean up after themselves very well.  They left bits of roofing materials on my pool screen and plants.  The contractor ended up cleaning after them.

We recently had a home inspection done for insurance purposes and the roof was estimated having 1-3 years left on it. Unfortunately a storm came through and we lost about 50 shingles. So my wife and I thought that we needed to get it replaced.  I contacted a few roofing companies. I was referred to G&G Roofing (owner Ray Smith) to get a free quote on a roof replacement.  We had a few quotes from a few other roofing companies and Ray was actually the last quote we received. Ray was able to provide a quick yet thorough inspection of the roof and provide the quote and time frame to perform the work the same day the home was inspected.  Of the four roofing companies we spoke with, Ray was most knowledgeable and showed the most interest in earning our business with a prompt meeting to review the estimate and answer any questions my wife and I may have had. He understood we were making a large financial investment and he wanted to earn our trust.   Ray provided us with a contract to review where his company would install and take care of the following:
-new 130 mph shingles
-SWR (secondary membrane to seal roof in an event there is a leak)
-Hurricane Rated Skylight
-bring roof to the up to the current nail schedule in accordance with current building codes
-all new drip edge
-replace any bad wood
-install ridge,vents
-handle all permitting
-handle dumpster for removing old roof
-remove and haul all of the old material
-perform wind mitigation
We signed a contract and Ray promptly began pulling permits with city, ordering the materials, and kept me posted along the way.  He was very accommodating to us to when we weren't home (do to work) by delivering materials such as permit paperwork needing our signature and color brochures/samples of shingles .
On Tuesday 5/28/13 they began tear down of the old roof and brought everything up to hurricane code.  His work crew were very nice, courteous, and hard working.    They completed the tear down of the old roof in one day.  The following day they  finished laying the shingle, installing the skylight.  Both were done exceptionally well.

Ray Smith and the G&G Roofing team did an excellent job in all aspects of the reroofing of our home.  The team is professional and very capable craftsmen.  From the assessment of our roofing needs to the final cleanup everything was done on time, done thoroughly and greatly exceeded our expectations.  Of note:  Ray Smith, the owner, is a regular visitor to the job.  He provides daily updates and progress reports and actively solicits feedback on how his employees are performing and our daily impressions as to how the job was progressing.  If you like regular communication, he is the guy to work with.  The employees are consistently polite and professional.  They are friendly, respectful of our property, neat to a fault, and in looking at the finished product, very accomplished craftsman.  And, its all about work with them.  There is no standing around chit chatting.  Everyone on the job is focused on a task and the steps required to complete it.  It's impressive to see employees who are committed to doing a good job.  They will always be welcome to work at our home.
We are very pleased with the metal roof installation.  It was done on time and to the contract price.  We are getting regular positive comments from our neighbors.  And, we are very pleased with the look of the roof, the quality of the materials and most importantly with all the rain we have been having-zero leaks!

BTW,even though they could not guarantee it, when they remounted the DirecTV antenna it immediately reacquired the satellite.  That is the result of employees who pay attention to detail.

First of all one of few roof companies who responded right away. Owner, Ray, was very responsive and always did what he said and when he said he would in a professional manner. The price was also the best estimate. He took time to answer questions and showed to inspect and check on the progress.
Everything went according to plan-the workers worked 12 hour days and were always polite and professional-they were always working hard. Each day they would clean up the yard and pool looking for debris, nails, etc. They kept all of their equipment in one area and were organized and neat.
The roof looks beautiful and now that it is raining-no more leaks. They also installed a new sky light that looks great.

Our house is almost 2,900 square feet under roof. We had bids of $21,000, $19,000 and G&G's 16,000. We chose G&G because they had done a number of other houses in our neighborhood. We felt we received value for the money and their work crew arrived on time and stayed busy. The building inspector told us "he never has problems with these guys." The owner of the company, Ray, is very easy to work with and answered  all our questions. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company.

I had a couple of communication miscues with Jamie, but they were easily resolved.  The crew was friendly and hard working.   They went above and beyond the terms of the contract.  I couldn't be more pleased.

These guys rock. Ray handled approval and site inspections from our Community Association and the county inspector. They started on the day he promised and finished in 3-days. Several "picky" neighbors commented how neat and hard working the crew was.  They didn't start too early and worked a very full day, til about 7PM.  The yard was spotless every night.  I got my wind mitigation paperwork for a 25% savings on insurance, and the new roof looks great.  I didn't have to worry about a thing.  Great job guys.
P.S. G&G was low price out of four estimates so this was a great value.

The team kept the area clean and safe at all times and picked up every scrap and screw before leaving for the day.  I am extremely happy with the quality of the material and the job and highly recommend them for metal roof installation and repair.  And as an added benefit, their price was also better than the competition.

I used Angie's List to get a reputable roofer to inspect and repair my roof.  G&G roofing had a good rating so I gave them a call and they came the same week.  Two men spent one hour looking over the roof, checking and repairing any outstanding nails and caulking a leaking gutter. As others first I was unsure who to call. I did my research and G&G Roofing

This is my second roof G&G Roofing does for me. I am extremely satisfied with

one of those persons that tells you the true, it is great to work with and cares

The job was completed on schedule and on budget and met all of my expectations.   Ray, the owner, stopped by frequently to check up on his crew's work and to check in with me.   I was extremely impressed with the skill of his crew in trimming the metal and fabricating the pieces needed to fit perfectly over a complex roof shape.   These guys are artists in working with the sheet metal.   I read the installation guide from the manufacturer's web site for the Image II panels (Metal Sales Company) and the Miami Dade County test report and Ray's crew didn't cut any corners.   Even though the local code doesn't require it, they put fasteners in on 12 inch centers, double the requirement giving this roof an uplift rating of 96 psf   The final product looks great and I know the job was done right.  As soon as the roof was on I immediately noticed a reduction in my air conditioner operation, the AC is now not coming on until well in the afternoon, and running for shorter periods, its clear the metal is limiting the heat build up in the attic.    Ray's crew was very courteous during the entire installation process often taking time out to answer my questions and show me in detail what they were doing.   They cleaned up around the house every evening (sometimes in the dark) and removed all their trash quickly when the project was complete.   Ray provided a new windstorm mitigation report, pictures, and full documentation of the job.  I am a very demanding customer and I am rarely satisfied with work done by contractors on my property, but this is one instance where I can say I am very happy.   I give Ray and his crew an unequivocal recommendation if you are looking for a quality roof that will last.

We hired G & G to replace our existing roof. We had two layers of
shingles to take off of our roof (equivalent to 20,000 lbs of shingles).
Ray is the owner and he is the one we met first and he is the  one that
gave us the estimate. He made special visits to bring us samples of

From beginning to end, this experience was exceptional. I joined Angie's List specifically to find a high quality roofer. I was unsure where to go and who to believe on getting my roof replaced. Within the last 8 months I received 6 other quotes and Ray and G & G was by far the best. He arrived on time for the estimate, was honest and real about everything I should expect. There was no high pressure salesmen tactics where he wanted to invite himself in to my house to try and sell me on something I didn't need (which happened with two other estimates I received the prior week and was a complete turn off. Why would a roofer need to come inside to provide an estimate and go over figures? Wouldn't they want to remain outside and point out areas on the roof to answer my questions?) It only took two days to do the entire roof. They showed up early and on time the first morning and worked until after dark. This roofing job went really, really well.  I could not be more pleased.  G and G Roofing made this very easy and stress free for me.  My initial call was answered immediately, I got an estimate the same day, and the estimate was very competitive compared to the others I called.  When I decided to go with G and G, I was able to sign a contract that same day and have the work scheduled quickly.  There was a weather delay but I was kept updated.  Contract date was 3/4/13 and the 2 day job was completed 3/21/13.  Ray Smith  and Robert Boes  were very professional and answered all my questions.  The crew that did the work were wonderful.  Very skilled, hardworking and considerate.  The cleanup was great, right down to sweeps with a magnet to pick up nails in the yard.  Ray was there both days to make sure the work was done right.  My new roof looks terrific.  Included in the deal was a Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form which will save me a great deal of money on my Homeowner's Insurance.  I would not hesitate to recommend G and G Roofing to my family and friends.  As a matter of fact, I gave their number to my best friend last week!

This was a huge week and a half long complicated parapet roof that required TPO roofing.  The team is extremely capable.  If they could do my roof, they can do anyones roof!

G & G performed this large and complex project with the highest professional standard. Besides dealing with a large and complicated roof, they also installed 3 large Vellux skylights with blackout blinds, removed the old ineffective roof vents and replaced them with new ridge vents and a solar attic fan. Day one a large dumpster was placed in our driveway and the dedicated crew (not some contracted crew) showed up early (before the dumpster) and they began tearing off the old shingles and under-layment. Each day ended with a total clean-up!! Every day the crew arrived early (usually before 8 AM) and the worked diligently and professionally until just before dusk. This crew is worth their weight in gold! No funny business. Just pleasant, hard working men who conduct themselves with the highest degree of pride and integrity. I cannot praise them enough. A metal roof application is difficult, tedious, and demands experienced perfection. Metal is not as easily adjusted and is unforgiving in hiding mistakes. The crew measured and cut each piece of metal which was then meticulously screwed down to the roof. It was AMAZING to watch! What could have been a nerve wracking, maddening, anxiety producing project, turned out to be a pleasure to watch progress to completion. My faith is restored! : )

I was impressed from the minute I met  each person at my door. They came when they said they were going to be there.  When the weather was bad and they could not work, they stopped by to let me know when they thought they would be able to get back to work. Our experience was excellent from start to finish.  It had taken us 6 months prior to meeting Ray owner of G & G Roofing for us to figure out what we wanted to do with the roof. We knew we wanted metal and never felt confident with any other roofer we had met to do one well, since when we had driven by the homes they had done we saw lots of oil canning (waves). Which I think looks terrible. Then I met a custom home builder whom gave me Ray's info and said he's been his number one roofer for years. When we met Ray and saw his company's work, we signed right away. No waves or oil canning in any of his work. We dealt directly with him through the entire process, he was extremely responsive, was onsite every day and available via phone anytime I had a question. He was very conscientious making sure that everything was done right and that we were happy. There was so much detail and precision that went into the installation, I had no idea of the skill that is needed for this type of roofing. No wonder other roofers that don't specialize in it don't do it well at all. They also used finish pieces that I haven't seen on other metal roofs that gives ours a much nicer appearance and a better roof all in all. Example the neighbor's roof just has the panels caulked directly to the side of the house and the outer edge is hand crimped, (which part of it isn't crimped correctly and has come loose) our house in contrast has finished, secured trim pieces there. G & G is a top notch company, always showing the utmost professionalism and the quality of workmanship and attention to detail are far superior to any other metal roofing contractor we've seen. They take a lot of care and pride in what they do and they do it right. They also stand behind their work by giving a 10 year guarantee against leaks. We love our new metal roof and are very proud that we have one of THE BEST looking metal roofs around, hands down.
