+ -1 moreEvery individual we dealt with from diagnosing the problem to selecting a unit to installation to office staff was professional, VERY knowledgeable and easy to deal with. This is a purchase nobody likes to make and we had to make this purchase unexpectantly. They made our purchase experience easy and stayed within out budget. I would highly recommend this company to anyone having or wanting to purchase a new unit, service existing units or maintenance. And let me tell you....I am not an easy one to please when it comes to this kind of thing.

+ -1 moreYes. We spent a good deal of cash getting this done. But our electric bill has been cut in half and we are so comfortable!! We have a huge Florida room with all glass on the Southern exposure. The two mini-splits on the ends of the porch keep it cool and pleasant without a problem. A/C/Heat is SO MUCH cleaner without ducts. They gave us every discount available to lower our costs. We are totally satified and happy with the result Ellington produced. I recommend them highly.
Description of Work: Our builder installed A/C/heat was a nightmare! Attempts to make the initial system work made a maize of flexible tubing in the attic and a large aluminum tube next to the airhandler in the garage. Our home is 12 years old. I called Ellington after finding them on Angie's List. The owner, Jason Ellington, came to our home and spent many hours asking us what we wanted to accomplish and finally what he felt would work. He has two employees that did the work but he supervised all. The attic was cleared of all ducts and new more efficience ducts were placed. These attached to a new Trane unit with super air handler. The air handler holds a special filter for people with allerigies. Also a UV light was place in the air return. This main unit (Trane) provides A/c/heat to the main part of the house plus bathrooms and closets. THEN we had 5 Mitsubitchi mini-splits installed in each bedroom. These provide an individual thermostat for each room which allows for people who like to sleep at different temperatures (I like 65-70). The work was done in a timely manner and the workers were very professional and personable. Jason was supervising almost daily (it took approximately 3 weeks from 8-5 to accomplish). After all the work was done, we had a few issues arrise. Jason was on it completely and tweaked until he and I were totally satisfied. Jason is a perfectionist and very technologically current. He was determined to iron our any kinks.

+ -1 moreOwner, Jason Ellington, was very unprofessional, arrogant, and absolutely not customer-oriented. Today he came to install a mini-split on our porch that we waited 3 weeks to get. Three weeks earlier he came out with his electrician to go over how it would be connected & checked the circuit box. All issues were resolved & it was decided that it could be done. Today as they began to go over the outside electrical, he said it couldn't be done, & that I would have to get an outlet moved before he could install the air conditioner. I then told him I could get an electrician out to my house t he very next day to move the outlet (which I had already scheduled an electrician to do some other work on the next day). I then asked him when he could come back to install the air conditioner, and he told me it would be "weeks" before he could come back, even up to a month, since he schedules out that far!! I told him we would be out of the country on a trip then, and he said, "I've spent an hour & a half with you on this project, and that's enough!! I'm not spending any more of my time with you on it. I'll just refund your money -- it will be better for me that way." HE NEVER EVEN TRIED TO SEE IF HE COULD RESCHEDULE HIS OTHER JOBS TO GET THIS ONE DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER! I have never dealt with an owner that didn't try to work with their customer --especially when it was HIS fault that the electrical outlet was not properly checked out. My husband and I are both professionals, and were appalled to be treated in this manner. Don't use this company to do your work!
Description of Work: A mini-split air conditioner was supposed to be installed today, but the electrical outlet that had to be moved was not properly checked out in advance by Ellington Air Conditioning, before the unit was ordered & the crew was here to install it. Because of Jason Ellington's (the owner) arrogant, and unprofessional attitude, and lack of care or concern for his customer, he left with the job undone, did not try to reschedule the work, took the equipment with him, and told us he was refunding our deposit. + -1 moreAny experience I have ever had with Ellington has been very professional and you can always tell that customer service is their top priority.
Description of Work: I came home yesterday from a trip at about 9 pm and noticed that I had an error message on my thermostat. I called in and spoke to Ellington's answering service and was advised that someone would call me back. To my surprise, the person that called me back was Jason Ellington (the owner). He stepped me through a couple of things and then said it sounds like a hardware failure and asked if someone could come out in the morning. They were promptly here at 9 am and found a frog had gotten into the unit and caused an issue on the circuit board. The circuit board had to be replaced and cooling down now. Since I purchased my Trane 20i a/c in April 2012, I didn't have to pay for the service call. Plus it came with a 10 year warranty as well. I absolute love the Tran CleanEffects air filter that was installed at the same time. The a/c unit and the air filter system was a little more expensive than the rest of the options that was provided but was the best decision I ever made. I have allergies and have noticed quite the difference with the CleanEffects air filter. I used to keep my a/c on 84 when I was not home and 78 when I was home. Now with the Trane 20i, I keep it at 78 during the day and 75 during the evenings and 72 at night for sleeping. I not only see a savings on my electric bill, but also much more comfortable. Also with the Trane 20i thermostat, you can download the Nexia application on your smart phone and control it remotely. So when you’re coming home from work, a trip or whatever, you can adjust the temperature on the application and then walk into a cool house.

+ -1 moreI had been away and noticed water pooling in my garage that was coming from the air conditioning ducts. I called Ellington and they offered to come out right away. I made and appointment for the next day and the technician called in the morning to tell me he would be a little late. He was friendly and checked out the entire system concluding that with all the rain the pipes outside were backing up. He sealed off the leak and then checked out the entire system. The price was reasonable. I have used them before and they are always very responsive and helpful.

I wish I discovered Angies List before I had my AC installed....then I would have went with this company. I will have them replace my ducts when the temperatures in Florida drop to human survivability levels:)
Description of Work: I was experiencing excessive condensation on my air duct registers. One register actually separated from the ceiling. Dolph came out and adjusted the fan speed on the air handler (which was set to the lowest position). He sealed the hole (for wiring) behind the thermostat which caused inaccurate temperature readings. He showed me settings on the thermostat which control and monitor indoor humidity levels, mine were set too high. Dolph also gave me a great quote for replacing my duct system as it is 40+ years old.

+ -1 moreHad Excellent service from technician Scott. He took his time to thoroughly inspect my old system (11 years old) inside and out , as well as ductwork in attic. I wanted quotes for a recharge of old system and for a new system install. He provided me with quote of 3 systems depending on high efficiency vs cost and was very knowledgeable and thorough in explanation. I ended up having my refridgerant recharged for now but when it is time for a new system I will most certainly be going with Ellington for the work.
